Nigel Farage fears he has been the victim of an assassination attempt after his car was sabotaged, causing a terrifying motorway crash.

The Ukip leader careered off a French road after a wheel on his Volvo came loose while he was driving from Brussels back to his home in Kent.

When the police arrived at the scene, they told him that the nuts on all of the wheels had been deliberately unscrewed, The Mail on Sunday has established...

I fear that this will be tried here on Cruz and/or Trump.

Strange report on Fox cable news this morning. Farage reportedly doesn’t want any further investigation of the incident. This makes it look suspicious for him and I sure hope this was not staged by UKIP or Farage. It would destroy him and probably the party.

Allah Akhbar. Someone failed in the mission from Mo & Al. No virgins, not even a goat.
Seriously. Do they have surveillance footage of where it was parked?

There are millions who want him dead but there are more than the millions who want him to forge ahead.

Nigel Farage:

'For the first time in 100 years, there is real change on the horizon. All you have to do is vote for it.

Political party manifestos are usually filled with arbitrary, over-ambitious targets and pledges to some special interest group here or there. UKIP is different.

In this document, which should inform your choice at this election, you will find serious, fully-costed policies that reflect what our party is all about: believing in our country.'

Including:

'flatter, simpler and lower taxes'

'foreign aid is an obvious target' for cuts that Ukip are looking to make to reduce the deficit.

'new migrants to this country will not be eligible for any welfare benefits until they have been paying tax and national insurance for five years.'

Apparently the leftist taliban is displeased.

* Proof read to remove those damned lefty jiggly thingy symbols...

I was jury foreman on a civil case which found for the defendant. After the trial was over, there was about a half hour of questions by both teams of lawyers.

It was dark & snowing when I finally got to my car. As I drove away from the courthouse, I felt a “clunk, clunk, clunk”. Stopped and found the lug nuts had been loosened on the right front wheel. The plaintiff worked as a mechanic for a used car dealer.

I thought about going to the police, but there was no way to prove that he did it. I also thought about “having a little talk with him”, but figured that it would “escalate”. Not worth going to jail.

Should I have done something? Probably.

Doesn’t sound like something Muslims would do to me. Too subtle.
Shooting, fire bomb, clubs, stabbing, more like them.

But what?

I think there are more than a few of us who have dealt with situations like this. In the moment, it’s very difficult to figure out what the right course of action is. Often, even after time has passed and you’ve given it some thought, it is hard to know what you should have done.

Cops will rarely investigate even if there has been a clear, irrefutable crime like burglary or car theft. I’m sure that a situation like your would be even less likely to get their attention. If you see something, say something? Ha. If you see something shut up because we don’t want to be bothered.

This story smells.
There would have been a hell of a vibration and noise coming from any wheel, especially the front steering, loosening-up and ready to come off.
Anyone with a brain would have stopped and not ‘careened’ off the road.

I’m not sure about that. I wouldn’t have gone to the police but rather to the DA. This would be jury tampering, or something like that, and they might indeed take it quite seriously.

You felt one wheel’s problem quickly. If ALL the frog’s lug nuts had been “unscrewed,” he would have never made it up to any kind of speed. Something smelly about the story.

I don't know about that. In the 80s, my girlfriend took her car in to have the tires balanced and rotated. After they were done, she drove off and got miles down the road on the highway when her right front tire came off. Luckily, she was in the right lane and did not freak out, so she was able to get to the side of the highway. She told me that the first warning she had was the "clunk" of the right front end when it hit the road. She initially thought her tire had blown up- until she saw the tire rolling down the highway. Needless to say, the tire dealership "made it right."

Did the ‘tire’ just come off, or was it both the wheel/tire? She’s the exception, not the rule, to have only felt the wobbling vibration at point of departure. Glad she was ok after that incident.

I felt something before leaving the parking lot. However, with the new snowfall, I thought perhaps it was slush that had frozen to the wheel. Once out on the road I knew it was something else and pulled over at the first available location.

If Farage’s lugnuts had only been slightly loosened, they may have not given indication until driven a bit. Once they start loosening, they can go very quickly. Mine loosened considerably in 1/4 mile.

Actually if he took off at speed the vibration would not be that bad, not until he slowed down. I happen to know from experience.

Any person of influence on the right, who isn’t simply controlled opposition, should always know this is a possibility.

You dont say how long ago this was.

If it was resent just about all court house parking lots have security cameras these days.

If you had reported this today the culprit would probably been identified and caught in the act.
