.....In its most explicit commentary on evangelization regarding Jews, the document said Catholics should take a different approach to Judaism than to other religions.
There have been major steps forward in Christian-Jewish dialogue since the Nostra Aetate declaration issuing from the second Vatican Council was published, the document read. Does that make sense?
"There can not be two ways of salvation, therefore, since Christ is also the Redeemer of the Jews in addition to the Gentiles". This document, however, rejects this, retaining that "there can only be one single convenant history of God with humanity".
"Each of these covenants incorporates the previous covenant and interprets it in a new way", the document says. Christ's death and resurrection beckoned "neither the annulment nor the replacement, but the fulfilment of the promises of the Old Covenant".

Well this is the Obama version of a Pope in charge of screwing things up here.
“And the angel said to them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to ALL people.”
I was a practicing Catholic before this guy. I could not however, in good conscience, continue to follow a religion who's head routinely espouses behaviors diametrically opposed to the teachings of the Bible.
This Pope doesn’t understand Christianity
The Inquistion, let's begin
The Inquistion, look out sin
We have a mission to convert the Jews (Jew ja Jew ja Jew ja Jews)
So according to Francis we should remove Acts 1:8 from the Bible, right?
I am RC. And I deplore prosthelytizing by any religion. My ultimate hatred of prosthelytizing is, of course, directed at the Muzzies who will decapitate you for failure to buy their halal baloney. And this will most likely end in a 21st century Crusade (and soon I hope).
Bring out the nuns
Yeah, Jesus would have shown political correctness, too, right? /s
Let’s restrain ourselves from sharing God’s Love and withhold the Living Word and Water from God’s chosen people! /s

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
The whole point here is to leave the Jews the heck alone.
Classic Catholic doctrine is responsible for the violent death of Jews for 2,000 years.
Love your faith? Keep it!
Stop seeing the Jews as Judas. Christ lived as a Jew as so were all his apostles. THEY modified and created Christianity so remove the burden and embrace the Jew.
Ever see modern Judaism proselytizing or lopping off heads?
I am a traditionalist Catholic. While I am not comfortable with forcing my religion on others, Jesus instructed his disciples to become fishermen and bring the Good News of his coming to ALL OF the world. I try doing that by example and instruction, when questioned, by openly practicing my Faith..daily prayer, grace before meals (Wherever I am), we are not called to hide our lights under baskets, but to let them shine for all the world to see. If you call this proselytizing...call me guilty.
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Nowhere in the article does it say what the headline reads. The part about the New Testament being a fulfillment of the Old is nothing new either.
It depends on what is meant by “try”.Neither Jews nor Christians should *force* the other to convert. That’s pretty obvious. But friendly persuasion....
Don't know what to tell ya. Jesus commands it.
not unless you count the millionaire liberal ones in this country :)
pushing abortion and gay marriage is just odd for Christian or Jew.
But come on, 70/30 for democrat president In polls? If you leave Orthodox out, i’d hate to see the numbers in favor of dems.
makes no sense.
Thank goodness Israelis are not as liberal. They would have never survived.
Jews are in need of Jesus as much as anyone else.
If the Vatican is saying otherwise it is preaching ‘another Gospel.’
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timnthy 2:5
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! Galatians 1:8
