As the end of the year approaches, Donald Trump is solidly ensconced at the top of the Republican polls nationally. The man just behind him? Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) , an establishment bugaboo. The establishmentâs favorite candidate, Senator Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) , is currently running far behind in national polling, a distant third in Iowa, and in a deadlock with Cruz and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for second in New Hampshire.
Panic time.
So, hereâs the establishment roundup for Christmas week.
If You Support Donald Trump, You Want to Lose. Earlier this week, Bret Stephens of The Wall Street Journal unleashed a petulant column accusing all Trump and Cruz backers of begging for defeat. âLet us now pledge to elect Hillary Clinton as the 45th president of the United States,â he snarked. âLetâs do this because itâs what we want. Maybe secretly, maybe unconsciously, but desperately. We want fourâand probably eightâmore years of cable-news neuralgia. We want to drive ourselves to work as Mark Levin or Laura Ingraham scratch our ideological itches until they bleed a little. We want the refinerâs fire that is our righteous indignation at a country we claim no longer to recognizeâruled by impostors and overrun by foreigners.â Stephens specifically singled out Cruz for criticism, calling him a flip-flopper âhappy to be on any side of an issue so long as he can paint himself as a âreal Republican.ââ(continued)

The government uni-party must win at any cost; the people be damned. We must go forward with the totalitarian state.
Does Will even know what he’s saying?
He is old and rich and famous. His reputation is that of a "conservative" pundit.
And the Republican Party has an EXCELLENT chance of controlling the House, the Senate, the White House, and the majority of the states. And Will's message is: "Vote for Hillary."
She's a crazy old Leftwing extremist! Why? Why would a "conservative" pundit even think that was a good idea?? Okay, Will supports the Establishment and Hillary clearly very "Establishment" and Trump is clearly not.
But Will gives away the entire game -- there is only One Party and it is the Establishment Party.
The illusion of choice is being swept away -- you can have "six" or you can have "half a dozen" ... or you can have Trump.
I really believe he has gone round the bend to clinical schizophrenia.
I agree....but in the last year or so in particular, he seems to have “lost it”.
Beating the GOPe / RINO Caucus of the Uniparty is more important than anything else this election cycle.
Bite it, George.
George has revealed himself as an utter fool.
I’m one of the few people who have really liked George Will and given him a pass for some of his transgressions, but this one takes the cake. He considers it better to have Hillary in the White House than Trump?! That is just sick. I don’t care how outrageous and brash Trump might be (and I don’t), but how could you prefer a lying, criminal, mendacious, arrogant, corrupt, filthy, disgusting, pig like Hillary in the Oval Office over a guy who has accomplished a lot, is too wealthy to bribe, has never been even accused of criminal or corrupt conduct and obviously places the welfare of America and Americans over himself in terms of wanting to improve every aspect of the average person’s lot?
Just insane. TDS all the way.
Take a hike Establishment George.
Goldberg, Barbour, and most of those named. I’ve never seen the slightest proof that they care about my interests.
So here’s my middle finger to them. The dirty truth is that besides Reagan who they hated the gop is not conservative.
Hastert turned out to be a homo along with many others in the gop. They flood the country with Mexicans. They pal around with moslems.
But all along, they act conservative.
Get bent George your time is just about up.
No George, the media cannot push Hillarys fat ass across the finish line.
The uniparty is not even trying to hide it any more.
There are a group of people on FR that whole-heatedly agree with George Will on this.
Very selective reporting. Read the article. No where did George Will say “Beating Hillary Less Important Than Stopping Trump”. He said (paraphrasing) If you want to beat Hillary, your first priority must be to ensure Trump is not the nominee because Trump cannot beat Hillary. Anyone with first grade reading comprehension capabilities should be able to distinguish the difference.
Coming from a guy who couldn’t beat Bill 0’Reilly in a battle of wits.
George is just another beltway insider looking down his nose at the great unwashed.
I would add, "The great pi$$ed off" unwashed.
I am voting for Trump. Screw George Will.
Yeah, like the dude below your post!
LOLOL!!!
