Imperial College London has found that two networks of genes determine whether people are intelligent or not so bright.
Genes which make people intelligent have been discovered and scientists believe they could be manipulated to boost brain power.
Researchers have believed for some time that intellect is inherited with studies suggesting that up to 75 per cent of IQ is genetic, and the rest down to environmental factors such as schooling and friendship groups.
But until now, nobody has been able to pin-point exactly which genes are responsible for better memory, attention, processing speed or reasoning skills. Now Imperial College London has found that two networks of genes determine whether people are intelligent or not-so-bright.
They liken the gene network to a football team. When all the players are in the right positions, the brain appears to function optimally, leading to clarity of thought and what we think of as quickness or cleverness.
However when the genes are mutated or in the wrong order, it can lead to dullness of thinking, or even serious cognitive impairments.
Scientists believe that there must be a 'master switch' regulating the networks and if they could find it, they could 'switch on' intelligence for everyone.
"We know that genetics plays a major role in intelligence but until now haven’t known which genes are relevant," said Dr Michael Johnson, lead author of the study from the Department of Medicine at Imperial College.
"This research highlights some of genes involved in human intelligence, and how they interact with each other."

2. The fact that someone's intelligence is largely genetic has been proven time and again by researchers, this is simply the latest study published.
Intelligence is different from wisdom. Some people have IQs off the charts, but they are wicked people. The reverse is also true. True wisdom and discernment come from God.

Intelligence is also a gift from God. He gives each of us different gifts. Some of us are given incredible beauty, some are given athletic ability, some are given musical talent, some are given higher intellect.
Where these discussion always get ugly quickly is when someone makes the logical connection that some races of human beings (who more closely share genetic code within their race). Dr. Charles Murry and Dr. Richard Herrnstein found this out when they published the book "The Bell Curve" in 1994.
So did Dr. Richard Lynn and Dr. Tatu Vanhanen when they published "IQ and the Wealth of Nations" in 2002.
Where these discussion always get ugly quickly is when someone makes the logical connection that some races of human beings consistently demonstrate higher IQ scores in almost every reliable test than do other races.
Addressing IQ by race doesn’t fit the progressives’ “everyone is equal” narrative, so you will never see government funded studies on the subject.

When I was studying for my bachelors degree in engineering, the Asian and Jewish students kicked my rear end. They would score 90s on Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer exams, and I would barely get a "C" even with the test graded on a curve.
In middle and high school, the backwardness of Africa was always explained as being the fault of "European Colonialism." This was an abject lie. It is a solid fact that those nations that accepted colonialism to a greater degree are better off even today than those who did not.
My personal opinion is that the Jewish people (who definitely are a race) possess the highest intelligence. At something like 0.2% of the world's population, they have won over 25% of all Nobel Prizes in Economics, Medicine, Chemistry, and Physics.
Every nation that has had a large Jewish population throughout history has partially thrived because of them, and every nation that persecuted and kicked them out has suffered.
Are these the same people that brought the Asian Beetle into
our country to be rid of another type pest? Idiots!
The problem is that our society has come to place too high a value on intellectual acumen while ignoring the value of other character traits and other gifts and abilities that do not translate directly into intellectual prowess.
We’ve devalued much of what makes a person and exalted only one aspect of what makes a human being a human being.
It’s wreaked havoc on our society and people’s lives.
At the risk of being called a racist (which is something one does these days simply by ordering a taco), is it possible that the genes for intelligence are stronger in some races than in others, which would account for the continuing disparity in success rates between those groups, despite countless trillions of dollars and decades spent trying to erase a biological reality?
And yet book brilliance does not equate to practical use.
Give me a less intelligent person who can actually DO something with what they know over a rocket scientist who can't remember where he parked his car.

While the primary blessing is referred to here is the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ, the Savoir of the World, I believe it also includes the blessings attached to the Jewish people and the treatment of them by individuals and nations.

I think some of it comes from the belief that intelligence is a pure skill that can be developed like any other skill, given proper instruction and nurturing.
I see many inherited traits that leave me in awe, and I know I have no more ability in mastering them than in becoming an Olympic champion (athletic ability is also inherited, and not evenly divided among the races).
To quote Harry Callihan, “A man has to know his limitations”. He also needs to recognize his strengths and concentrate on those.

I’ve always chuckled at the graphs showing comparative IQ’s for groups, by ethnicity. My modest 135 IQ, while nothing to sneer at overall, makes me a freakin Einstein among “my fellow hispanics”...
Not only does character count, we have confused credentials with intellectual acumen. Having a PhD is as much a question of having the time, inclination, and money to devote to pursuing grad school as having true genius.
Considering Obama was awarded a Nobel even before he did anything (probably when his record was best), I even question that award.
In the meantime I have met a wide variety of people who demonstrate that even without extensive formal education they remain more intelligent than those they deal with who are more credentialed.
The welfareians simply out number those who do.

My bet is that this study will be shown to be bogus just like every other study that pretended to find behavioral genes.
