Rush is correct on this. I wish Trump would be a little more careful with this. Things are moving in a good direction now for true conservatives (and in a bad direction for the GOPe & ‘RATS) & I wouldn’t want to see that derailed.

The Iowa polls for the last week or so indicate one very clear thing.

Ted Cruz will win Iowa. Big Time.

Now whether or not that changes the game on a nationwide basis remains to be seen.

..hopefully the next debate will put to rest any fears that these two men can be drawn into a cage match by the MSM and some activists.

The quotes of the last couple of days are a concern. Perhaps we are seeing the chasm between ideology and pragmatism. I still support conservative ideas first--hence my support of Cruz...

Thanks, Kaslin.

It's good to see Rush dealing with the question that was on my mind: "Why in the world go after Cruz in the same way the establishment has?"

My answer was (1) To win non-Cruz voters to his side, and (2) To say, "You think I'm odd. He's odd too. So you've gotta pick one oddball or the other. Pick me."

Rush on Trump's thinking:

He's come across as somebody who's gonna beat somebody in negotiations, who's gonna beat them down. He's gonna tell them how it's gonna be. This... This is so obvious. You know, I'll tell you what this is. This is obviously the Trump campaign deciding to use the most common criticism against Cruz because they see that Cruz has negatives. They see that Cruz is not liked by the Republican establishment, and so they're just piggybacking on that, I think, as a way for Trump to maybe score some points with the Republican establishment.

Rush comes down nearly where I did. I viewed it from the perspective of the voter/supporter, and Rush did from the perspective of the republican party.

The bottom line is that Rush viewed it from the angle that I did from as early as this morning.

I’m amazed that Trump has remained a stalwart in the face of huge establishment adversity from all corners. They’ve even gone after his business interests under the guise of political correctness.

Remember how the establishment media attacked George Zimmerman in mass, with lies and false innuendos? Their elites goal is to take out Trump and put Cruz on a pinnacle for a short time. Cruz will be an easy mark because he is wholly dependent on establishment money. They will keep him quiets until they install one of their own who favors immigration and illegals. Trump represents a threat because he is mostly uncontrollable.

Filling our country with 200 million 3rd worlders working for pennies on the dollar and being highly manipulable is what the GOPe wants.

Wow. Rush is back, the old Rush I used to know and love. I have had pretty harsh words for Rush over the years. In this segment, he has gone a long way to redeeming himself for me. Very well said and done.

The caller (I only read the transcript) sounded just like any number of FReepers who are die-hard Trump supporters, and Rush uses the caller to illustrate their ... limitations ... the way a lot of us do here!

{^)

I am very happy to see Rush be so clear.

Cruz should very nicely respond something like this:

I like Donald Trump. I wish every American businessman were as successful as Donald Trump. We agree on many issues, disagree on a few. I am not going to attack him and get in a fight with him or any other republican candidate.

But Donald criticizes me for being unable to make deals. Well, it’s just this kind of deal making that got us in trouble. We don’t need deal-makers like McConnell, Boehner, and Ryan; we need someone with a proven record of standing up for the principles and values of the American people and the Constitution.

CALLER: I mean, you know, I'm not gonna agree with everything that Trump does, but I just want him to win back our country, our freedoms, and just get our jobs back so people are working again here in the United States.

There's your problem, right there... Expecting a liberal to deliver the Conservative solutions this country so desperately needs... There isn't a liberal alive that will deliver what he wants. FIRST principle - Big Gov is never the solution. Big Gov is always the PROBLEM. Anyone who thinks government is going to fix anything is sadly, sadly mistaken. And since liberalism must inevitably rely upon Big Gov, *no* one espousing liberalism can ever deliver Conservatism... Small Gov, Federalism, Power residing as close to the people as possible... Governs least governs best.

And that is just structure - Add to that the effects of moral turpitude (the real problem) which liberalism necessarily endorses and promotes in order to justify Big Gov, and it becomes exponentially obvious that ALL Conservative principles must be employed or all is lost. One cannot have small government unless one has a good and God fearing people - Thus liberalism purposefully tears at our Judeo-Christian moral root. The blood of 50 million babies cry out for justice from American soil.

And make no mistake - Trump is a liberal. His record proves it.

And a vote for a liberal is, by it's very nature, a vote against every_single_thing I stand for.

Rush...."You cannot legitimately and honestly criticize Cruz's competence, his intelligence, his abilities. He's as bright and competent and capable and smart as anybody, and they all know it. .... I can't think of another word to describe other than just respectful and polite, treat your enemies with kindness, you know, turn the other cheek,.... The virtues that are found in the Bible, for example.... Cruz has been living them."

Rush then reveals......

....."When Trump dumped on Cruz for being opposed to ethanol...In other words, we as Republicans must support government subsidies to corn farmers in Iowa if we're to have any chance of winning Iowa?.... that, again, is NOT a conservative position. To go after Cruz on that basis, is again the way the Democrats and the media would go after him.

Then when Trump was asked about Scalia Trump said..." I was very surprised at Scalia's statements, actually."...But as Rush clarified..." Well, they weren't "Scalia's statements." They were arguments that had been submitted to the court that he was engaging in oral argument over. ....

Rush then speaking to Conservative voters....." these are two things that, If you're a conservative voter in the Republican primary, these two things have gotta raise some red flags for you people..."
