Republican officials and leading figures in the party's establishment are now preparing for the possibility of a brokered convention as Donald Trump continues sit atop the polls and the presidential race.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if they would just put that much effort towards actually defeating odumbo and his moron colleagues?
“Hey GOP! We win, you lose!! Traitors!!” ^ 10!
Basically, the GOPe concedes defeat...Trump will win the primaries.
What’s the matter with these people?
I haven’t heard one solid reason why the front-runner can’t capture millions of disgusted Democrats sickened by their party chices.
In fact, the polls never “poach” into Democrat territory when surveying the Trumpster.
The GOP machinery had better smarten up fast and pull out all the stops for their winner.
The candidates that are just pegging 5% or less are nothing but gnats and need to leave.
Ah, but imagine how quickly the GOPEs will discover how much they’re overmatched by a master deal-maker/negotiator — A man who doesn’t take “No” for an answer.
Question I have is, when and how does Trump gain control of the RNC? Does he have any control heading into the convention, does he have to gain control at the convention, and what can he do after the convention with all the GOPe people in the RNC so he doesn't get sabotaged? I'm curious. My recollection is that Reagan put his people in place after the election in 1980, and that Bush fired them all in 1988 or 89. I don't know the mechanism by which that happens. Any experts here?
What part of Uniparty/Ruling Class does everyone not understand?
2016 is about the Ruling Class crowning the next Supreme Leader, using a corrupted system to create the illusion that the People, voted for tyranny.
Well, no one in the world is better at brokering than Donald Trump so the GOPe should watch out.
TRANSLATION: They'll do whatever is necessary to crown THEIR boy.
The GOP-e had better be prepared for the majority to walk out and go third party!
Hillary’s in the catbird seat and has a lot to gain from all this chaos in the Republican Party
They would IF they disagreed with them.
2016 Trump wins primaries
2016 GOPe stiffs Trump and gives Bush the nomination
2016 Trump goes third party
2016 Trump wins the election
2017 Trump is focused on by the GOPe, the Republicans in Congress refuse to deal with him.
2018 70% of Republicans are voted out of office, and replaced with people from Trumpâs new party
2019 Trump changes the face of America with help from his new majority party
2019 Trump declares he will run again
2019 The Republican party having only 25% of the registered voters it did four years previous realizes it canât win at the general election in 2020
2020 The Republican party nominates a loser
2020 The Republican candidate is beaten by Trump, and the Democrat party candidate to finish dead last with 5% of the vote
2021 The remaining registered Republicans switch to Trumpâs party
2021 Reinse Priebus is last seen screaming something about not being a crook
If Trump has a plurality of delegats but the nominations is given to a RINO like Bush or Rubio, the GOP is dead.
If this doesn’t show the GOP is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrats, nothing will. Same mafia, different families.
The establishment GOP is in full blown panic mode.
You mean like when Gingrich halted Clinton in his tracks? Those were the days!
I don’t get it. I’m NOT a trump fan, but if he remains this popular, why would there need to be a contested convention. What would be the excuse?
This is coming from the same stupid party that told conservatives to shut up and unify behind their chosen establishment nominees in 2008 and 2012 where both lost miserably in the national elections.
If the GOP decides to go the brokered convention route with Trump or Cruz and in the process virtually seal its demise as a national political party, then BRING IT ON!
OIC = “Only in Cleveland”
A brokered convention is where no candidate has enough votes to win on the first ballot.
And the GOPe set up each states rules so that will be hard to achieve.
Many of the states award their primary delegates in a proportional way so that they only get part of the states delegates even if they win the majority.
They also require the candidate to win the majority in 8 states where it used to be 5.
They did this to keep a conservative from winning.
