Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump made the shortlist for TIME magazine's 2015 Person of the Year for his "populist rhetoric" in the 2016 presidential election that has "stirred debate about the party's future."
The magazine released its shortlist Monday morning with Trump making the cut among other finalists including Black Lives Matter activists, Russian president Vladimir Putin and Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).Â

If they want to make any money they'll choose Trump.

That is a twisted list and Trump’s inclusion is celebrating the (perceived) damage he is doing to the Republican Party (which they love).

Objectively, it can be argued that Trump has not only directed the entire direction of the Presidential campaign themes for 2016,risen to and stayed at the top of the GOP polling, he has done so without any political experience at all.
All in less than six months.
Who could have seen this coming last May?

Should be Trump or Putin for biggest impact on the world and national dialogue. Agree it will probably be the racist black lives matter.

There isn’t anyone else who’s made more news or had a bigger impact in America in the last year. So, clearly, he won’t be who they choose. The idea of ‘Person of the Year’ is to send a message, not reflect reality.
To: GonzoII
It’ll be Trump next year.
To: GonzoII
Knowing Time’s political leaning, it will not be Trump.
To: GonzoII
If there ever was a racist term “populist rhetoric” takes first prize.

Hmm, as radical and undeserving as most of the past “winners” were, I expect TIME to give it to 0bama, for his, “outstanding leadership and courage in the face of some bad people doing bad things in America.”
