Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump made the shortlist for TIME magazine's 2015 Person of the Year for his "populist rhetoric" in the 2016 presidential election that has "stirred debate about the party's future."

The magazine released its shortlist Monday morning with Trump making the cut among other finalists including Black Lives Matter activists, Russian president Vladimir Putin and Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

The only truth is that you spend far too much time bothering people who don’t happen to agree with you.

God bless Donald Trump!

Most of them are a decent sort. They don’t really care what goes on in Ted’s name though. That has cost them most of my respect.

Doesn’t that list tell you what kind of company Trump in in?

Yes, he belongs at the head of that list for sure.

The irony is so thick -- this guy is defending a blowhard celebrity with 26 years of leftist moderate history because he believes in heroes -- and thinks we're blinkered and blind because we are looking at truths he is squeezing his eyes and ears and mind and heart closed to.

Populism is an infection that only a very few seem to be immune to. This time it seems to run deeper - I see a lot of my FRiends on the other side... But it is no different than the last time, when so many here were hawking Romney. And the time before that with McCain't.

Duchess, The Donald is famous ONLY because he marketed himself through the media as a genius billionaire real estate mogul, the best of the best. Surely you can at least acknowledge that truth.

Otherwise, people would no more know Donald Trump's name than they know Leonard Stern, John Sobrato, Stephen Ross, Richard LeFrak, Andrew Beal, or Donald Bren, all of whom are better at the "RE mogul" game (some considerably better) than Trump. And that's just real estate, that doesn't count the entrepreneurs who built many times more billions than Donald's, out of much less.

The ONLY reason Trump is famous, let alone famous for his vaunted "brilliant" business mind, is because he has a flair for showmanship and pursued that brand in celebrity status, including seven years as star of a prime time realty TV show -- LOOK IT IN THE EYE.

People think Trump is one of the world's biggest billionaires and therefore one of the world's smartest people. In fact, he is a self-made celebrity real estate mogul and third-rate as far as billionaires go.

So Jane, do you believe that, should he win, Trump will govern as a conservative?

Again....yes, I do! In fact, he already is.....

Where have I dished out boasting or condescension, let alone personal insult such as "Trumpsters"?

You are talking about other people than myself. You always want to change the subject. The subject is the hard evidence that Trump is a moderate leftist historically and a showman, and conservatives should think twice before attaching heroic hopes to an attention-craving old blowhard patriot with ZERO political compass.

Finny, finny, finny....

Your opinions so don’t = fact. They’re actually quite boring.

I get that you’re frustrated about Trump’s YUGE poll numbers and crowd sizes, but projecting and assuming are no way to go through life.

We appreciate your efforts (not), but don’t you think your time would be best spent on a Cruz thread....extolling all of the wonderful Cruz attributes there?

The Donald as you say, is famous for many things. Number one is his brand which he has promoted for forty years. That brand is building the best, and always doing what he says he will.

I don’t know why anyone would care about any of the people on your list. I did look up one of them several weeks ago when you were touting this and found that yes, he is in real estate and yes, he is richer than Trump, however, not because he built anything, simply because he owns millions of acres of land.

I also don’t know why you are obsessed with how much more money they have than Trump has. What could that possibly have to do with anything?

I am not voting for the richest man in America for President, I am voting for the most competent.

Hang in there, friend. You’re doing fine.

I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left.

My guess is that’s probably why he’s on a Trump thread. Offense is easier than defense.

Obamacare.

He brought up objections to Obamacare before Cruz? Realllly???? Um ... who was it who stood up for 17 hours in Congress????????

Stopping the refugees

Wrong again. I've linked it so many times in the past that I'm tired of searching again; they're in my posts in forum. In Sept., after being okay with Syrian refugees for humanitarian reasons at least since 2014 (when it was mere hundreds, not tens of thousands), Ted Cruz spoke out against it and scandalized the liberal media because he is, after all, the son of an immigrant. But Ted at that time basically said it's time to put a stop on Syrian refugees, they're just too dangerous. The very day before that, Trump is on record saying he's okay with Syrian refugees ... the next day, the same day Cruz spoke out, Trump began to backpeddle.

I’m asking for the why behind what you believe about Trump. You’ve already said you believe it. Seems like you believe it simply because you want to. As you’re aware, I’m for Cruz. I’ll vote for Trump if he gets the nomination, but would rather support someone who I know is a conservative rather than someone who I have to hope will be a conservative.
