...Mocking a disabled person for their disability has been universally passe since at least the 1950s, and so some of his supporters have been out on twitter over the last couple of days offering various defenses for Trump's behavior on this video. It is important to note that Trump himself has (as far as I know) offered only this by way of "explanation" for his actions:
Defense 1. Trump didn't know Koveleski was disabled...
So, to believe that Trump had no idea what Koveleski looked like or the particulars of his disability, you would have to believe a) that the entire written record of their numerous interactions is fabricated, and Koveleski in particular (the very person on whose word Trump is staking his 9/11 claims) is flat out lying b) that he said "the poor guy" when referring to Koveleski because... well, I have no idea what the "because" is even supposed to be on that one and c) Trump was able to pull off an imitation of Koveleski's specific physical deformity purely by chance...
2. "The Media" mocked Trig Palin for having Down's Syndrome, so they are fair game.
...if Tom Brokaw insulted Dick Cheney, that would not give Rick Santorum free license to punch Jake Tapper in the face. That's more or less exactly the defense that is being raised by Trump supporters, though.
3. No one is above mockery...
The problem comes when people are mocked, not for the things they've done, but for the physical conditions over which they have no control...
Trump has demonstrated time and time again that he simply is not suited for the office either by temperament or by judgment...

ROFL!
And he also met with Sarah Palin's hairdresser. Ot so he claimed.
The hairdresser had a different opinion of the matter...
“What I read was....This reporter was nervous and jerky...”
If you had seen film of the reporter years ago and today, his arm/hand is permanently fixed in front of his chest and the hand jerks all the time and has since birth. He has had personal interviews with Trump for many years, face to face with Trump so Trump knew exactly what he was doing.
It is interesting that ones view on this subject dovetails with one’s view of Trump. Even if I didn’t support Trump, an MSM toady backtracking on a 9-11 article when it suits his purposes will raise a red flag. Mocchary of an MSM minion is never out of place if it is directed at his changing of story, which is what Trump did
Oh snap....LOL
That is the beauty of a Republic, we all get to decide who we would like to represent us.
I want someone not afraid to get into the face of their opponent. Trump is the only one that does not now. So he has earned my vote.
They would talk like men, since they're both real men.
If you're a woman, you probably don't understand what that means.
Mocking the media is fine with me. Mocking a media person who routinely hides behind his disability to make nasty cracks about people he doesn’t like, deserves to be mocked.
When Reagan snarled “I paid for that mike” at Bush I knew then he was a man turned in on himself and no one else matters. He enjoys belittling people and making fun of them as he thinks no one on the earth is as fine as he is...
Won’t waste time being concerned with any aspect of the existence of a New York slimes reporter.
Even now, threads on this have prompted several Freepers to begin recounting their recollections.
That article is A source.
It is not and never was THE source.
27 years ago, with a gaggle of reporters, and this self important reporter thinks Trump should remember everything about him?
Puh-leeze.
I understand what you’re saying, but, frankly, I’m tired of the high road. The leftists belittle us personally every single chance they get. It’s endless, and they ALWAYS get away with it. Trump may not be as classy a person as most would like, but humorless leftists are driven absolutely mad by his mockery, and I love that.
Maybe that makes me a bad person, but I’m past caring at this point.
And the source for this tidbit is... wait for it...
The New York Times fabulist Serge Kovaleski hisownself!
Serge met with Sarah Pailn's hairdresser, too - at least he says so.
She begged to differ. :)
Amateurish media hatchet job!
Tell us who you are supporting so we can determine if your opinion is worth a damn.
If that's true, Cruz is an inhuman pansy! If you don't demean a scumbag on a personal basis at least once in your life, then you have no soul.
So Trump is not lying? How can the below be true? Of course no one for Trump gives a wit what he does or says. Blind allegiance.
AH! But Cruz should have known better than to marry who he loved and let her work where she wanted if wanted the Trump supporter’s votes.
Koveleski himself has noted the extent to which he and Trump have had personal interactions:
âDonald and I were on a first-name basis for years,â said Kovaleski.
âIâve interviewed him in his office. Iâve talked to him at press conferences. All in all, I would say around a dozen times, Iâve interacted with him as a reporter while I was at The Daily News.â
Trump says "no", Serge Kovaleski lies "yes".
Case closed.
Did you watch the whole video not a still frame? My grandson has severe spastic cerebral palsy and I do not think he was mocking the reporter. Believe me I would be highly upset if I truly thought he was mocking. He was throwing his hands about like some hysterical person not a person with a disability. You sound like someone trying anything to keep Trump from being a position to help this country
. There are much better candidates running.Only in your mind.
