...Mocking a disabled person for their disability has been universally passe since at least the 1950s, and so some of his supporters have been out on twitter over the last couple of days offering various defenses for Trump's behavior on this video. It is important to note that Trump himself has (as far as I know) offered only this by way of "explanation" for his actions:
Defense 1. Trump didn't know Koveleski was disabled...
So, to believe that Trump had no idea what Koveleski looked like or the particulars of his disability, you would have to believe a) that the entire written record of their numerous interactions is fabricated, and Koveleski in particular (the very person on whose word Trump is staking his 9/11 claims) is flat out lying b) that he said "the poor guy" when referring to Koveleski because... well, I have no idea what the "because" is even supposed to be on that one and c) Trump was able to pull off an imitation of Koveleski's specific physical deformity purely by chance...
2. "The Media" mocked Trig Palin for having Down's Syndrome, so they are fair game.
...if Tom Brokaw insulted Dick Cheney, that would not give Rick Santorum free license to punch Jake Tapper in the face. That's more or less exactly the defense that is being raised by Trump supporters, though.
3. No one is above mockery...
The problem comes when people are mocked, not for the things they've done, but for the physical conditions over which they have no control...
Trump has demonstrated time and time again that he simply is not suited for the office either by temperament or by judgment...

The real Aquinas would have reasoned that he should avoid the Trump threads, if they made him uncomfortable.
Of course, you're fauxQuinas, so I suppose you may be impenetrable to reason...
BTW, speaking of forgettable, what was the point of your post again? :)
In Jersey City, within hours of two jetliners' plowing into the World Trade Center, law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river. That's not exactly comprehensive proof of Trump's "thousands and thousands" claim.
I would prefer that Trump just be straight about what he is up to, but my heart will not permit me to hold politicians to a very high standard when it comes to being straight about what they are up to. In fact, I would go further. I really believe that he planned to do what he did before he even took the stage. I do not think he could do something like that by accident. He is too smart.
Everyone pretty much agrees, GOPe, Liberal Media, et al that Trump will not just win the Republican nomination, but that he will likely be the next President of the United States.
Trump will likely win New York in the general election. Game OVER early on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, eastern standard time. New York has 29 electoral votes. That is why the Left and Rinos are very nervous. That’s also why Hillary has made Brooklyn her headquarters.
Go Trump Go!!!! Make New York turn Red in 2016. Trump is a Queen’s native son and the average drive by voter respects Trump for his business sense and they understand he doesn’t need to run. Everyone knows that Trump is running because he LOVES this country. Even the lame stream media knows that the only reason Trump is running is because he truly wants to Make America Great Again. Trump is authentic because he LOVES America and it resonates with the average voter.
Bingo.

Trump isn’t my guy. But Trump versus a revisionist journalist trying to cover up in your face actions by Muslims right here on American soil?
I will go with Trump on this one.
You made a different choice.
BTW, I’m glad you took the time to read the full article.
So, have you stopped beating your wife, dschapin? A "yes" or a "no" will do...
I missed this whole affair so I’m taking no sides on it (though I’m partially disabled, no big deal).
But as a former card-carrying member of the print media (for a pro-American conservative newspaper), I can say that the Left Media deserve just about everything they are getting and should get, in spades.
They hate America though they make more money in their jobs than most of the people in the world do in theirs. They are very often biased, un-objective, incompetent (don’t do their homework for a story or its context), are political hacks, and are often just poor writers.
They have earned the absolute “disrespect” and “opprobrium” (look that up in your Funk & Wagnall’s) of sane Americans so “their red chickens have come home to roost”.
If you are not an honest journalist, then you are NOT a journalist.
I saw the video and I can say from what I saw it didn’t look like a massive attempt to mock someone to me... Trump is one to do something subtly I think if he was going to intentionally mock the guys physical issues I think it would have been far more overt...
Yes he mocked the guy for changing his story but I don’t see his arm movements during it as a conscious mockery of the guys physical handicap.
Seems like much ado about nothing to me
Hand gestures. LOL.It’s called, “Being a New Yorker”
The controversy over whether Trump did or did not mock a handicapped reporter is not substantiated or disproved by much evidence. Here is Trump talking about reporter who is handicapped.

Here is a video of reporter being interviewed.

You decide in you think Trump was imitating the handicapped movements of the reporter.
I suppose ol' ds can wistfully hope for its return... :)

The media is the enemy so its all fair game as far as I care.
There is a contradiction in this article.
“Kovaleski has a congenital condition called arthrogryposis that limits the movements of the joints.”
How do you mock someone who has limited movements by uncontrollably flailing your hands?
Yes, they should read it. The reporter had numerous personal meetings with Trump through the years. Trump knew exactly what he was doing and put his right arm/hand where it permanently is on the reporter and he jerked it as the hand jerks on the reporter.
Really, Trump has no redeeming human value in his sole for others - only he matters, and his presidency would be a huge disaster. I can't believe so many people think he is a god just like others thought Obama was a god. He must not win.
Stating that people’s support for Trump is “blindly supporting” him is where you make the worse mistake.
It is insulting, and is making assumptions that are based not on genuine conversation with people, but on wholesale dismissal.
Everyone of us started out completely dismissing the guy. He had to earn every % point in support, and that is no small thing.
Others who are familiar with Trump's speeches have said that it's his normal routine.
So, perhaps the Gimp Card was played with that knowledge...
“even though Trump was shaking both hands.”
The reporter’s arm/hand is permanently in that position and his hand shakes and Trump knows that because he and the reporter have been together numerous time, one on one. He was imitating this reporter and damn well knew it.
A disability is not a sword and shield to smear a Republican on behalf of the democrat party bosses
