How alarmed were New Jersey officials by reports of Muslims dancing in the streets of Jersey City and Paterson on Sept. 11, 2001, to celebrate the destruction of the World Trade Center?
They feared riots would break out and were ready to send in the National Guard and the State Police to preserve order.
But John J. Farmer Jr., then the New Jersey attorney general and the state's chief law enforcement officer, said on Tuesday that he ordered an investigation that very day and found the reports to be bogus, more wild stories born in the stricken hours after the attacks.
Nevertheless, those ancient, false rumors were recycled as truth over the weekend by Donald J. Trump, who has folded them into his calls for the national registration of Muslims and possible closing of mosques.
Reporters were unable to find any evidence for his story, but Mr. Trump stuck with it in a television interview on Sunday. "It did happen," he said. "I saw it. It was on television."
Few people, if any, could address the circumstances more definitively than Mr. Farmer, who went on to serve as senior counsel to the Sept. 11 commission.

RE: However, my memory is not faulty. I saw them.
As I said, talk show hosts in New York devoted an hour to this issue and many people called to tell of their eyewitness account — especially in Paterson, NJ.
But then the media will dismiss this as “imagination” and “Islamophobia”.
RE: On the other hand, I saw muslimâs cheering on TV.
Here in the USA ( especially NJ )? or overseas?
New York Times Calling You All Lairs Ping!
One of my closest friends has a brother who lives in Florida. His neighbor is muslim. On Tuesday, September 11, 2001, he had a huge party to celebrate ‘something’. On a Tuesday. In the middle of a work week. Dozens of Muslims attended, all joyful and jovial.
On 9/11/2001.
3 Muslims at Ford engine plant in Detroit celebrated during their work day by giving high fives, then it went to court.
Hard to deny this....

“Wonder if they are going to investigate Bill Clintonâs rape accusations with as much enthusiasm?”
I was thinking about Hillary’s sniper claim.
The more "they" push the official "Religion of Peace" meme, the more memories and current events get in the way.
Trump has had "them" by the short hairs of reality since he announced his candidacy and I love it when he gives 'em a twist and makes "them" squeal.
Here we go again and I suspect this thing with the NYT will be fun to watch and I am anxious to see where it goes.
Unfortunately, insanity also has our current GuvCo oligarchs by the short hairs and someone or something needs to slow their progressive dementia before it kills US.
If there is one legitimate reporter left at the Times, he or she should track down the firefighters like my nephew who were called to Paterson to stop rioting between Muslims (mainly Palestinians he said) and black citizens going after them for celebrating the tragedy visible with the naked eye from any rooftop in town. Just check the records in Paterson, Passaic, Tenafly...all were there! (Posted 4 or 5 times on various threads...we are in Pirandello’s Theater of the Absurd for sure.)
The only issue I have with the above statement is the word 'allegedly'.
We all saw on television Muslims throughout the world celebrating and passing out candy. We also know that there are millions of Muslims here in the US, many of whom obviously hate America and would want to see it destroyed.
But I doubt they were the only ones. I'm sure there were plenty of Russia and ChiCom supporters cheering the attacks as well, at least in private. US commies too, including Obama's "spiritual adviser" and mentor, Jeremiah Wright, and his (Obama's) pals, communist-revolutionary terrorists Bill Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn.

BOTH OBAMA AND OSAMA HAD
FRIENDS WHO BOMBED THE PENTAGON
_________________________________________________________
From HumanEvents.com, April 29, 2008:
"By all accounts, he [Obama friend and associate, Bill Ayers] was a ferocious, violent, revolutionary Marxist in his halcyon days as a Weatherman leader. He and his Weatherman bombers were enamored of Ho Chi Minh, Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, Mao Tse-tung -- indeed, all the murderous heroes on the Left. Referring to the Weatherman members in August 1969, he said (according to the FBI): 'We're revolutionary Communists.'
He got off on the group's multiple explosions, too, and discusses them rather lovingly in his memoir.
Ideal Bombing Weather:
'Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon,' he writes (although he concedes it was really a group effort). 'The sky was blue. The birds were singing. And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them.' (p. 256 in the 2003 edition.)

BOTH OBAMA AND OSAMA HAD
FRIENDS WHO WANTED TO BOMB FORT DIX
From David Horowitz's FrontPageMag.com/DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
March 6, 1970: "three members of the Weather Underground accidentally killed themselves in a Manhattan townhouse while attempting to build a powerful bomb they had intended to plant at a social dance in Fort Dix, New Jersey -- an event that was to be attended by U.S. Army soldiers. Hundreds of lives could have been lost had the plot been successfully executed."

"The bomb was intended to be planted at a non-commissioned officer's dance at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
The bomb was packed with nails to inflict maximum casualties upon detonation."
"The bomb preparations have been pointed out by critics of the claim that the Weatherman group did not try to take lives with its bombings.
Harvey Klehr, the Andrew W. Mellon professor of politics and history at Emory University in Atlanta, said in 2003:
"The only reason they were not guilty of mass murder is mere incompetence. I don't know what sort of defense that is."[2]"

2007 Fort Dix attack plot
A group of six radical Islamist[1] men, allegedly plotting to stage an attack on the Fort Dix military base in New Jersey, United States, were arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on May 7, 2007. They were subsequently charged with planning an attack against U.S. soldiers. The alleged aim of the six men was said to be to "kill as many soldiers as possible".[2] Their trial began on October 20, 2008. [3]
Opening arguments were presented on October 20, 2008.
Assistant U.S. Attorney William Fitzpatrick said the defendants were inspired by jihad saying "Their motive was to defend Islam. Their inspiration was Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.

"It was at the Chicago home of [Bill] Ayers and [Bernardine] Dohrn that Obama, then an up-and-coming 'community organizer,' had his political coming out party in 1995. Not content with this rite of passage in Lefty World - where unrepentant terrorists are regarded as progressive luminaries, still working 'only to educate' - both Obamas tended to the relationship with the Ayers."

A poster yesterday related a story about Moslem revelers in Brooklyn, at a deli, who had to be protected by the NYPD so they weren’t beaten up by construction workers building something across the street
(Flashback: Muslims cheered 9/11 attacks0 (video)
They cheered in Jersey City too â home of the 1993 World Trade Center bombers. From a September 18, 2001 (Washington Post Article)
TRUMP IS RIGHT AGAIN!!!
If the letter writers were sought out they may have that evidence you speak of. Investigation is not easy but many people keep memorabilia of events like this.
As bleak as things look sometimes, I keep there is an overwhelming positive people overlook.
Because of the internet and social media we now know a lot more about what is going on. 50 years ago, 100 years ago we would have been clueless and things would get worse and worse.
Now we all see what is going on and that has a very positive effect for change.
Correcting my post - Former Attorney General John Farmer Jr. is not the son of the liberal journalist John Farmer - he IS the liberal journalist John Farmer.
What does it mean when the Left says, “cannot verify the claims”? Just because they couldn’t find anyway to say they saw the cheering doesn’t mean no one did. There was no YouTube back then.
I have posted here what I believe is proof, the word of my brother in law who was a cop in JC back then and TOLD me of the calls about the cheering.
Anyone who LIVED in Northern NJ as I did and do knows the celebrations took place.
The funniest thing is hoe Trump’s gaffes are dissected while the rest of the candidates (Rat and Pube with the exception of Cruz) lie wildly as a normal mode of operation.
There is a bad side to the internet, which reminds me of a Reagan quote about liberals not being dumb, but just knowing so many things that aren’t true.
The memes on the internet condense complicated issues into one phrase and a cartoon...usually slanted to the left or even outright false. And sadly, a lot of people believe everything they see on the internet.
I agree there is an upside, in that the left cannot completely craft the news...but I just think the left has cynically raced to the bottom and are now pandering to the dumbest among us on the web.
I found this in under 2 mins

CNN reporting on “Home Grown Hate” post 09-11
Anyone know how to get this into the Trump team's hands?
(BTW, the "almuhajiroun.com" domain is up for sale; I checked.)
I think no one is denying that many Muslims were happy about 9-11. The only thing being denied is the words that Trump actually said. Those words were false. He conflated different events. Is that a problem for the leader of the free world? Up to the voters to decide that.
