It was a good day, but a long drive back and we brought my MIL’s car back with us, packed with some of her stuff. I guess my hubby will have to go back soon to finish the house stuff. I have to work till after Christmas. We’re not “allowed” time off during that time.
However, if the family needs me, work will just have to take a hike! LOL!
My kittehs were so happy to see me tonight that I couldn’t nap because of their loud and up close purring. LOL!
No, she will not be back. Her son’s procedure had to be postponed because of other health issues. He is rescheduled for Dec. 3.
Please do not be sad for me. I shall have the TV to myself for almost 24/7 football starting Thanksgiving morning and ending Monday night!! *snicker*
Hai! We’re having twelve people over. Food, fun, football ....
You just got back today? Ouch! Doesn’t leave much time to catch your breath before Thanksgiving, does it?
At least your home safe and sound, and it sounds like your kittehs are quite happy to have you home again. But how dare you try to nap when there’s lovin’ that needs to be doled out? LOL! Better give them lotsa hugs and rubs so they’ll let you sleep tonight.
I hope your MIL isn’t too bummed out by the big changes in her life. It can’t be easy for her and I hope she adjusts quickly.
Dude!
Well, shucks...you almost had my sympathy till I read that last part! LOL!
Happy Football Day to you! (((hugs)))
Sounds like the perfect day...if you add two other F’s....flying and firearms! ;)
They are thankfully outside now...which they love....and I’ll be able to sleep till time to get up and go to work in the morning. I’ll have to hit the ground running. When I left, things were still kind of slow. Not so now, I’m sure.
She had a doctor’s appointment yesterday, and was totally bummed that he told her that chances of her walking, much less driving, are not likely. It was such a let down...I could see her shoulders slump. She just knew she’d be driving by Christmas. She did so well after the first break but this second one was much worse to heal.
PS...hope your stepson gets his procedure done sooner rather than later and won’t have complications.
You need the boss back to keep you in line. :)
You’re lucky your cats can go outside at night. We used to leave our outside cats out but after losing some to those nasty coyotes, we bring them inside at night now. They don’t like it and they let me know it b being obnoxious. LOL!
Yeah, losing that much independence has to be crushing. I feel bad for her as that’s not the kind of news anyone wants to hear.
I’m the Football Fan.
LOL! I prefer small and quiet. I used to enjoy watching the games, but I refuse to watch now since they’ve gone so PC. So I just relax at my computer. d:o)
I don’t do “gatherings” if I can help it. LOL!!
Clean up is where I gravitate to...so many folks are gone when the time comes.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving at the VFW, my.
And you are the master chef!
What’s on the menu, even tho you don’t have to cook?
Finally the phrase I couldn't think of..."I don'ât do small talk very well...".
Happy Thanksgiving.
It’s funny how they have their little routine. Out at 8pm...in whenever I open that back door in the morning. I don’t think they stray very far. They’re good kitties. :)
My MIL’s routines, unfortunately, are on hold. She’s 94 but has always been the helper, not the one needing help!
That’s what I’ll be doing after dinner. Post a few Thanksgiving tunes. :)
Well...after my after-dinner nap. LOL!
Ooooooh, they do have their routines, don’t they? Ours get to go back outside once it’s daylight and Hubby is awake to let them out. During the summer, it’s usually light when I go to bed so I let them out then.
Your MIL is lucky she’s been able to do as much as she’s been able this long. Hubby’s aunt is almost 99 now but we had to stop her from driving or cooking and such loooooong before that for her own safety. It’s hard to see them lose independence but it happens to all of us at some point.
100???
