Businessman Donald Trump was back on top of the Republican presidential contest according to a national poll released Monday by the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
The survey, conducted by YouGov America under the direction of the UMass Poll, found that Trump polled at 31 percent among likely GOP primary voters compared to retired surgeon Ben Carson's 22 percent. The closest opponent of the battling frontrunners was Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) at 13 percent while Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) polled at 9 percent.
When asked who their second choice for the Republican nomination would be, respondents who supported Trump chose Carson and vice versa. Trump and Carson also were the overwhelming choices for the candidates who have the best chance at winning at 40 and 24 percent, respectively, according to the survey.

An honorable mention also goes out to Lassana Bathily , a Muslim immigrant from Mali.
Mr. Bathily sheltered customers at the Jewish Deli and helped police by providing info
on the terrorists, and providing the location of survivors in the deli.

I agree... unless it's Trump.
The guy is appealing to people across demographic lines because of his straight shooting. He will win.

I think Rubio sealed his fate by supporting more Syrian refugees coming into the U. S.
Stick a fork in him after that.

Trump/Cruz ticket if allowed to win by the GOPe would do the country the most good. But GOPe will do everything in their power to sabotage that ticket and favor the cheap labor express of Hillary.

Obama lowered the bar to ground level and Hillary keeps hitting the bar with her fat ass as she tries to crawl under it.

I agree, except that I don’t think those low info Christian voters are spending their time in service to the Lord. I think they are spending their time in service to themselves. Evangelicals seem to me to be a very lazy bunch of individuals who not only do not pay much attention to politics, for the most part they do not know much about what scripture really teaches; it is all fuzzy and warm to their way thinking. If they did take Christianity seriously, they way they should, they would be fundamentalists, not evangelicals. But most of them do not even know the difference.

I assume your response was tongue in cheek, and a very clever parody of what The Trumpsters have been hearing a lot. I like it.

Carson’s just 0bama with an R after his name. There would be almost no difference between him and Hillary. If either one of them is elected the decline and fall of the America will just accelerate.

I noticed this “food pyramid” omitted bacon, rib eye steaks, barbecue pork, ham, fried chicken, fried catfish and several other foods and beverages I find necessary for a balanced diet.

Media: Jeb Bush want’s a no-fly zone in Syria?
Trump: When did ISIS get airplanes?
Media: You can’t build a wall?
Trump: I build things, that’s what I do - watch me!
Media: You’re going to deport 11 million people. You’ll need a “deportation force”.
Trump: What does I.C.E do?
And on and on it goes. Simple cut-to-the-chase responses with total fearless ownership of any downside from a policy proposal.
Media: But you used to be a Democrat, you have donated to Democrats?
Trump: Yes, I live and work in New York. NYC is all Democrats, if I need to leverage assistance for my company goals I need to work with Democrats. It’s a business necessity; I look out for my employees and their best interests.
Media: But you had Hillary Clinton at your wedding?
Trump: Yes, it was an amazing event, the best, the biggest, the most elegant, and I asked her and Bill to attend. They did. Wouldn’t you, I mean if I invited you?
Media: You spend all this time talking about polls. You seem obsessed by polls?
Trump: Yeah, that’s because I’m winning them. If the polls were not good, I wouldnââ¬â¢t even mention them. Duh.
When you compare how Trump owns the so-called “negatives”, you immediately recognize they are only negatives if he allows them to be. Thus, he doesn’t let them be issues - he owns them, and says “yeah, so?”
Trump has spent decades with Park Row media types. He has never avoided them, he totally understands how they operate - and more importantly “why”?
The most stark contrast is Donald Trump when contrast against others in the race like Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. Like Trump they all have historical issues and/or policy proposals with severe downsides. However, unlike Trump - Bush, Rubio and Cruz keep trying to play the game of avoiding their history (as if it doesn’t exist) and downsides from policy.
Imagine if Jeb Bush said: “hey, I know Super-PACs are a bad idea, but without them I wouldn’t stand a chance”.
Imagine if Marco Rubio said: “hey look, the reason I supported the gang-of-eight was because I was a freshman senator and their offer made me feel superior, like I was an important and influential member of the Senate - it was a massive ego boost”.
