My mistake: Medal of Freedom.
Yes, they are close - one is the highest award given to a civilian, the other is the highest military award.
She has several dogs and also a pet cow named Surprise.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw, how sweet.
Not a snake person myself, but that picture is amazing !
I must admit, she’s giving me some serious Puppy Envy.
*Terrible* need to have a cuddly critter to hold is becoming unbearable.
/tries to drag a hundred pound Dobe onto lap

You should see her Amazon Tree Boas.
They’re like living jewels.

MOH: earned by incredible heroism in combat, usually at the cost of the recipient's own life. Often awarded posthumously.
MOF: earned by a civilian's accomplishment in whatever field they've dedicated their life to. Often awarded to celebrities.

I was speaking in terms of the award, not what is required to receive it.
Highest civilian/military honor....see how they are similar?
I agree, the requirement for a Medal of Honor is much higher. and rarer, I believe.
I think the Medal of freedom has been much diluted, much like the Nobel Peace Prize.
