Conservatives Need to Rally Around Ben Carson
PJ Media ^ | 11-07-2015 | Michael van der Galien

As J. Christian Adams reported yesterday, Politico published an article on Friday claiming that Ben Carson’s campaign “admitted” he lied about being offered a “full government scholarship” to West Point. My colleague pointed out that Politico’s reporting was sloppy, but the same goes – he argued – for the campaign’s response. The point seems to be: Politico’s article isn’t entirely fair, but Carson’s response and exaggerations mean he’s not ready for the spotlight.

Although Carson’s campaign certainly made a mistake by responding to Politico’s inquiries the way they did – they kept it too vague – the fact of the matter is that the website’s piece was nothing more than a hackjob. Politico is known to be the personal propaganda website of Democrats and the Republican Party’s establishment, both of whom hate Carson (and other outsiders and/or conservatives like Donald Trump and Ted Cruz).

Here are the facts. As Mark Levin explained on his radio show yesterday, West Point frequently put out ads back then (we’re talking almost 50 years ago) claiming that students would get “full government scholarships.” They would get everything for free: they wouldn’t have to pay tuition, they’d even get a wage, and everything they needed to live (dormitories, etc.) would be taken care of. In return, the students had to serve a couple of years in the military after they graduated. This system is still in place by the way, but I’m not sure West Point still advertises it as “full government scholarships” as such.

Although every single West Point-student gets that offer, Carson didn’t pretend that the ‘offer’ given to him was special. He just said – and repeated it several times – that General Westmoreland had told him he could help Carson get into West Point and offer him that full government scholarship.

I will rally around Carson when he puts forth his solutions to our nation’s problems. He hasn’t been doing that.

We should all rally around him anyway. That doesn’t mean you can’t vote for and support another candidate. We just can’t let the media get by with this hit job.

Politico was doing wheelies to conjoin the name “Ben Carson” with the word “Liar” in the same sentence. Say what you would about Gentle Ben, lying is not anything like a distinguishing trait.

But the good doctor has not had the practiced of confronting these pieces of disinformation that The Donald has been dealing with for decades now. The Donald just meets this flak and plunges right on through, sustaining surprisingly little damage, and never anything more than a momentary mark that swiftly fades.

Rally around him, you bet!!!

This ,the pyramid thing, the new pandering urban radio rap ads and the cooked polls showing him ahead are the comedy relief of this campaign season.

Next he'll be doing MC Hammer knockoffs, if they can keep him awake long enough.

(well, that whole hammer thing might be a little too close to home)

I think he prefers this sort of thing — “Carson vs the big bad liberal media.” It distracts from him not putting up on issues.

I am sorry but I am tired of politicians trying to win personality contests. I want to hear how they plan to solve our nation’s real problems. It’s just my opinion but Carson hasn’t been putting up.

Amnesty-supporter Carson should get illegals to rally for him.

Carson would be anonymous if he were white.

Can't wait for this time-wasting zero-qualifications racial token to get off the stage.

From the article, “We, Carson’s fellow conservatives, can’t let them get away with that. We need to rally the troops and come out in support of Carson – yes, even those of us who support other candidates (like myself, I’m all in for Ted Cruz). As a group we have to say: ‘Enough of this. We won’t allow you to destroy conservative minorities any longer.’”

Judging from the comments I’ve recently read on freerepublic their mission, unfortunately, is accomplished.

The lying-cheating-attacking liberal media is one of our nation’s biggest problems.

I will support him insofar as he is unfairly attacked by the media. But where were the calls from PJ Media and all the rest when Trump was attacked ... For FOUR MONTHS?

They can’t fix Hillary’s lying image so the next best thing is to try and paint conservative with the same awful color. All of the Carson attacks are lame. No one cares if he thinks the pyramids were use as disco dancing clubs or grain storage. Calling a free ride college deal a “scholarship” shocks no one except those who want to manufacture a scandal.

Good point. Trump, Carson, Cruz...all the rest need to be supported against the attacks of the left. It may be the only issue we can unite around.

I’m pretty much committed to Trump, but having said that, I wish he had shown some support for Carson, or had just STFU.
But he didn’t and people on this forum who disliked him, disliked him more...and those of us who like him, scratch our heads and realize something.

This country is big trouble, largely due to the left agenda of Ted Kennedy and others, that has gone pretty much unchecked by our republican in office including the president. In this sense Bush was a disaster.

We don’t need a nice person to do the job. I’m sorry to say, we’re going to need a tough mouthed New York style street fighter who gives it and takes it.

I can assure you that if Trump is able to easily bash his opponent, esp in the case of nice guy Carson, he will go after the likes of Hillary Clinton like there is no tomorrow.

I think he was mostly factual with CArson, who did admit to some wrong doing when young, and playing lose with the facts about West POint. I mean are they important in the scheme of things...? I think they are.

If we learn that Trump molested women in college, and in his employ, or embezzled money.. it would be the same thing.

FAct is, the man wants to hold all of us to a higher standard.

I think it’s going to be Trump/Cruz ticket, because frankly, I don’t think Trump respects anyone else at this point.

Whoa – Carson Supports Obama Trade – Aligns Position With Establishment GOPe (Jeb, Rubio, Fiorina, Kasich, Christie)…

http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2015/11/06/whoa-carson-supports-obama-trade-aligns-position-with-establishment-gope-jeb-rubio-fiorina-kasich-christie/#more-108103

Candidate Ben Carson’s support for Obama Trade (TPP) is a massive divergence from most conservatives and now puts him in direct opposition to Donald Trump.

Still backing the trade legislation are the party’s establishment wing candidates: Sen. Marco Rubio and former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida and Govs. John Kasich of Ohio and Chris Christie of New Jersey.

Carson is the hope of the GOPe to take down Trump.

If we ‘rally around Ben Carson’ we will do the Republican Establishment’s bidding.

This author is outing himself perhaps......
