CARSON BREAKS OUT, TRUMP AND RUBIO ROUND OUT TOP THREE, LORAS COLLEGE POLL FINDS
Loras College ^ | 10/26/15 | Chris Budzisz

Posted on 10/26/2015 11:16:04 AM PDT by BigEdLB

With less than 100 days before the 2016 Iowa Caucuses, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson has surged to a lead over real estate mogul Donald Trump and the rest of the field. Trump stands in second, while Florida Senator Marco Rubio is in third place and is the only other candidate with double-digit support as a first choice candidate.

“Dr. Carson has connected with Iowa Republicans. His stock started to rise late in the summer, and this positive trajectory has continued to this point. Iowa has a new frontrunner,” said Associate Professor of Politics and Director of the Loras College Poll, Christopher Budzisz, Ph.D. “Over the past week or so, Dr. Carson’s campaign has been officially suspended as he pursues his book tour, but given his tour took him to several places in Iowa, he remained front and center for Iowa Republicans.”

That is now the 6th poll in the past couple of weeks that shows Carson passing Trump in Iowa.

I will no longer post polls without detailed internals. Monmouth also has a poll with similar numbers today, but no breakout of results by gender and alignment, though they do list the number they asked, but not what they said.. If someone can find it on their website I would welcome a correction

I count three. And the first two are by known enemies of Donald Trump, i.e. biased beyond anything credible.

The sixth? I can only recall two (including this one and Quinnipiac). What are the others?

Yeah, we really need a Pacifist Commander in Chief, someone who wants to monitor political statements through the Dept. of Education, someone who wants to abolish Medicare and Social Security, someone who wants Louis Farrakhan to lead public policy in Chicago, and who says he has the same goals as Al Sharpton.

Neither do I, but I figure this needs to be known, and as a pro-Trump person, it is best coming from me rather than the cadre of anti-Trump folks that lurk here (e g Nick, Mikey, and Wife) They have room to comment, to be sure, and lets have it out. That is what this is for...

Ben Carson Pretends He Doesn’t Really Want To End Medicare By Heather

Republish Reprint

As we already discussed here, GOP presidential candidate and former neurosurgeon Ben Carson told Politico that he wants to replace Medicare and Medicaid with cradle-to-grave health savings accounts. When asked by Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace if he really wants to put an end to Medicare, Carson stammered and stuttered his way through the interview and tried to pretend that’s not what he wants to do, even though we all know that would be the end result if you move the funds from one program to the other.

Here’s more from The Hill on Carson’s train wreck of an interview on Fox: Ben Carson says he won’t end Medicare: Republican Ben Carson on Sunday rejected the notion that he will end Medicare if he is elected president. “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace asked Carson if his plan was to end the program, which serves 49 million senior citizens. “That’s completely false, Carson said. “That’s a narrative someone’s putting out there to scare people.”

Carson said the program he’s outlined uses health savings accounts starting from the time a person is born until their death to largely eliminate the needs for people to be dependent on government programs. “I would never get rid of the programs,” he said. “I would provide people with an alternative and I think they will see the alternative we’re going to outline is so much better than anything else.”

Wallace pushed Carson on what appeared to be a policy change, asking him if people will have a choice between health savings accounts and the traditional Medicare “I do not believe in imposing things on people,” Carson said. “I believe in presenting things that are so attractive that people will quickly migrate to them.”

It’s pretty bad when even a host on Fox isn’t buying the B.S. you’re shoveling. Wallace pushed and pushed Carson on where the money would come from for his program, and Carson either doesn’t even understand what his own health care proposal would do, or he’s just lying through his teeth.

Carson will win Iowa because he promised billions in ethanol subsidies. Anyone who thinks the Johns Hopkins dude isn’t shrewd, or dangerous, better have some coffee.

Trump does need to figure out how to reach the Christian Right in Iowa. They have singlehandedly won the past two caucuses. Trump doesn’t need to win all of them but he needs to peel off some of this Carson support.

I like Carson quite a bit but do not see him as a viable candidate.

Trump doesn’t know about the SDA group and I sure don’t know what’s wrong with Iowans. They aren’t voting for a leader, they are voting for someone involved in Biblical heresy. I don’t call them a cult, because I don’t really think they are - I just think they teach heresies. I want someone who believes in God, but not someone who is involved in false teachings.

This one (Carson +12), the latest Monmouth Poll (Carson +14), Quinnipiac (Carson +8), Bloomberg (Carson +9), CBS (tie), and an internal poll by the Jindal campaign (Carson +8).

When you have that many polls by that many different organizations all showing the same trend, you have to be in denial to argue that they are all wrong...

This is why Trump needs to run ads.... YouGov in NH and SC are alot better. NH Margin went ‘down’ from +28 to +26, and SC went up from +15 to +17, so this wild swing, if real seems to be exclusively an Iowa one.

The Dr who removed my tonsils was an SDA at an SDA hospital (Glendale, CA). I was 3. My mother relates having a hard time finding something to eat in the lunchroom there... The Dr was highly regarded....
