Ben Carson’s Violent History Ended As A Seventh Day Adventist – Do Gun Control Beliefs Make Him

Ben Carson’s Violent History Ended As A Seventh Day Adventist – Do Gun Control Beliefs Make Him Fake?

In a new interview, Ben Carson’s violent history has come to light based upon the admissions of the 2016 GOP candidate. The retired neurosurgeon was once well known for separating conjoined twins, but when he was a teen he used those same hands for violence, including assault and stabbings.

Carson says those days are well behind him, but the source for this amazing change in the teenage Carson goes back to his beliefs as a Seventh Day Adventist Christian. But some say those same beliefs conflict with Carson’s gun control stance, with some so going so far as to claim Carson is not an authentic Adventist.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, Donald Trump says he does not understand why Ben Carson’s poll numbers continue to rise, and Trump even referred to Carson’s energy levels as being “lower than Bush.” Trump even made a joke out of the situation, saying, “Donald Trump falls to second place behind Ben Carson. We informed Ben, but he was sleeping.”

During the Meet The Press interview, Chuck Todd asked Carson directly if people mistook his “soft-spokenness” with a lack of energy.

“I think so,” Carson replied. “I have plenty of energy. But, you know, I am soft-spoken. I do have a tendency to be relaxed. I wasn’t always like that. There was a time when I was, you know, very volatile. But, you know, I changed.”

This is when Ben Carson’s violent history was discussed in very frank terms.

“As a teenager. I would go after people with rocks, and bricks, and baseball bats, and hammers. And, of course, many people know the story when I was 14 and I tried to stab someone.

He has already served his country well through a lifetime as a surgeon. He doesn't have anything to prove by running for an office he is ill-equipped to fill.

Tell that to the folks enamored of sex offender registration for life for something done as a teen.

What does this have to do with what Ben Carson did as a teenager?

Also, why would you assume that I think teens who engage in consensual sex should be on a registry with pedophiles?

I said, “for folks enamored.”
If that isn’t you, why are you complaining?

Some items of Seventh Day Adventism:

In addition to the "cultish" belief in soul sleep lets look at the other controversial beliefs of Seventh Day Adventists:

Baptism requires repentance and a confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It symbolizes forgiveness of sins and reception of the Holy Spirit.

Adventists see Scripture as divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit, the "infallible revelation" of God's will. The Bible contains the knowledge necessary for salvation.

Unlike most other Christian denominations, Adventists hold that the dead do not go directly to heaven or hell but enter a period of "soul sleep," in which they are unconscious until their resurrection and final judgment.

The eternal Son of God, Jesus Christ became man and was sacrificed on the cross in payment for sin, was raised from the dead and ascended into heaven. Those who accept the atoning death of Christ are assured eternal life.

Adventists believe in one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. While God is beyond human understanding, He has revealed Himself through Scripture and His Son, Jesus Christ.

Backtracking from easy character assassination after you were called on it?

Reagan was a two term Governor of a large populous state. Ben Carson has no such experience.

Thank you I could not put a finger on Carson but just didn’t like him. Now I know...

If you dislike Carson, you really must HATE Trump; because Trump had been a flaming liberal and supporter of the Clintons and Obama just not too long ago.

“A while back we were members of a church where one of the deacons was a black panther back in the 60s. Admitted he wanted to kill white people.”

The difference is that this guy is a deacon. Carson wants to be POTUS. I think looking at someone’s mental stability is in order when choosing a prez. He has led a good life since then and that’s fine. Great for him and God bless him. But excuse me for having some reservation about electing someone with such a violent past for POTUS. It’s a stressful job. I doubt he could get a job as a law enforcement officer but people are okie dokey with him being commander in chief? We can’t do any better than that?

dear spark,

re:
“Tell that to the folks enamored

life for something done as a teen.”

Sex offenders steal the souls, and warp the minds of those enacted upon, if not at that time, but in future time, when all that comes back to the front of the mind.

I was enacted upon, therefore, i think your vision of mercy is just you being misinformed, and the sex offender in question, should be shot.

Ha ha, these posts are cracking me up tonight.

Seriously. No attorney or businessman is awakened at 3 am and asked to make critical life or death decisions for a child with a brain trauma.
Right this minute. No aides to help you.

No politician either.

They said Reagan was a loser and ill equipped as well.

Reagan had 8 years in elective office and a solid grasp of the problems facing this country. Carson has neither.

There is nothing cultish about beliefs that are derived from Scripture.

Well I’m happy for you that you find it amusing that people would be concerned about someone with Carson’s past violent history ill suited for POTUS. To each their own.

Having a sick child’s life in your hands or one’s finger on the nuclear button as leader of the free world? In one case one child could die. In the other case?

I am happy that Carson managed to turn his life around and become a successful surgeon. Good for him. But the bottom line is that he would probably not be able to be a LE officer with his past history. I can’t imagine what ever possessed him to believe that running for POTUS this wouldn’t be an issue.

If a police officer was involved in a shooting and he had a past history like Carsons you don’t think people would ask why in the h*** he ever got the job in the first place?

There are just some jobs where the bar is set higher and this is one of those cases. Funny isn’t it?

It was at that very moment he knew his life's passion and career path. He was at that point, an undocumented surgeon.

There is nothing cultish about beliefs that are derived from Scripture.

Yes there is. PseudoChristian cults hold their beliefs are derived from Scripture.

Some regard Seventh Day Adventism as a pseudoChristian cult. Others do not.

  1. Though several capable Christian scholars (e.g., Anthony Hoekema, J.K. Van Baalen, John Gerstner) have concluded that SDA is a non-Christian cult system, CRI has continued to assert that this is not the case. We take this position based on the content of the doctrine which was stated in an official SDA publication (1957) entitled Questions on Doctrine. It should be noted that in 1983 W. Richard Lesher, vice-president of the General Conference, affirmed that SDA stood behind the publication Questions on Doctrine. Since SDA does accept the foundational doctrines of historic Christianity (the Trinity, Christ’s true deity, His bodily resurrection, etc.) we do not believe that it should be classified as a non-Christian cult. It is our conviction that one cannot be a true Jehovah’s Witness, Mormon, Christian Scientist, etc., and be a practicing Christian in the biblical sense of the word; but it is possible to be a Seventh-day Adventist and a true follower of Jesus, despite certain distinctive Adventist doctrines which we consider to be unbiblical.
