The GOP front-runners will apparently be part of the next Republican debate.

An early-morning tweet from Donald Trump said that CNBC agreed to the demands of both Trump and Ben Carson to keep the debate to two hours including commercials, CNN reported.

*snip*

In addition to the two-hour limit, Trump, in a letter to CNBC's Washington bureau chief, requested that candidates be permitted to speak directly to the camera during opening and closing statements, The Associated Press reported.

“Mark Levin to be the moderator.”

That would be awesome.....even better if they’d let him moderate a dem debate. Now that would get ratings AND Hillary would get smushed. lol

“Still too many candidates wasting time.”

That’s why most of them are still there.

Trump/Cruz

Trump, as figurehead,dealmaker,pit bull.
Cruz, behind-the-scenes power.

They’d make a great team.

Yes, during the candidates’ opening and closing statements, the camera should be only on them and they should be looking into the camera. None of this business of cutting to show the other candidates, moderators, or audience at that time.

“THAT is a president !!!”

NO, he is not. He is as arrogant if not more so that Mr. Obama.

Speaking directly to the camera before an after is understandable, but shortening the length reduces things to sound bites. He is not a good speaker when confronted with opposition. Why does Trump (or Dr. Carson) even participate in debates if they cannot stand the heat?

Popularity today can collapse tomorrow.

Mark Levin as moderator for rep & dem debates.
That is the best idea I have heard in a long time.

Invite only those who have above 5% in a recent national poll.

******************

Agree to limit but I would go with the top six. Here are
their current averages at Real Clear Politics.

Polling data

Trump 23.8
Carson 19.0
Rubio 9.7
Firiona 7.8
Bush 7.3
Cruz 7.3

next at 2.8

The cutoff point for this debate will be 3% in the national polls. Looks like you’ll get your wish.

If I remember correctly from one of first articles. It wasn’t DT who originally complained but several of the lesser candidates

Looks to me that he has taught them some leadership skills. Was willing to share that position with Dr Ben. The only one complaining that Trump-carson won is ICarley. Which should put her at odds with others. (They should be grateful to DT and BC

Some pointy headed analyst, with an ivy league MBA, remembered something his professor told him. A professor whose entire career since his own Ph D has been spent in academia. The CNBC analyst applied his professor’s formula. Then, Trump came along and ruined his glorious plans.

The art of negotiation. “I do deals!”

“America never wins. We don’t know how to win anymore.”

MSNBC capitulates. Donald gets what he wanted. Donald is a winner!
