At Least 10 People Reportedly Killed in Oregon College Shooting

A suspected gunman was detained Thursday after reportedly killing at least 10 people at Oregon's Umpqua Community College, according to CNN.

Preliminary information indicated 10 people were killed and more than 20 were injured at the college, located at 1140 Umpqua College Road in the Roseburg community, Oregon State Police spokesman Bill Fugate told CNN.

TV station KATU initially reported state police said 15 people were killed, but later tweeted there were seven to 10 fatalities.

The shooter was believed to have been detained, Fugate also told CNN.

Seriously, every shooting in a “gun free zone” is a real life example of gun control in action. Can anyone point to an example where gun control has prevented a shooting?

For that matter, can anyone point to an example of a mass shooting at a gun show?

It is over an hour from Eugene and a very conservative community. Doesn’t mean he couldn’t have driven down, but best guess would be a local kid who knows how to hunt.

Eugene is an extremely liberal area.
This is not Eugene.
Roseburg is a more rural and more conservative leaning city.
This is a terrible tragedy, and we ALL need to stop jumping to conclusions.

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ..tweeted that it had special agents at the college and was sending additional agents, as well as a K-9 team, to the scene.

Officers from the federal Department of Homeland sEcurity were also sent to the college.

It sounds funny, but it truly is heartbreaking that all across this state people can walk into a store and legally buy pot.

So sad...

I hope we find out what’s behind the shooter at UCC.
