During his 60 Minutes interview Sunday, Republican presidential front-runner appeared to come out in favor of a form of single payer health insurance for the uninsured ... and openly called for raising taxes on the wealthy.

Hey Con, ‘deals’ also include low cost and charity.
Like you said, the highest tax rate, currently 39.6, will go down to 25%.
The corporate tax rate will be lowered from 35%....the highest in the world....to 15%.
The capital gains rate will be lower.
The federal estate tax will be eliminated.
The “wealthy”.....the successful business people....will be paying less tax.
The economy will benefit nicely.
There’s too much money and interests in the health insurance to rock the boat.
Equalizing health insurance across state lines, and removing government barriers only guarantees cheaper healthcare costs, and allows the citizens a choice.
That CANNOT be allowed!
Healthcare is all about maximum profit. The dem and gop lobby demand it!
Think of the profits! Think of the reduction of profits that the insurancs companies will have to suffer through!!
What about the shareholders? They’ll go broke and starve!
Seesh, you need to get out from Behind those Liberal Lines.
They are affecting your hearing and cognitive abilities.
And that like in Canada, is delivered through private doctors and hospitals.
Not at all like the VA. Our vets don’t even get the freedom to choose their own doctors and hospitals like the poor get to do.
Breitbart.
George Will.
Fox and all its commentators.
It’s pretty amazing the people part of the existing political disaster who are so against Trump.
I also liked his “cut 20% in spending” comment. Toss out everyone Obama hired...
Spot on!
These comments from Donald Trump really concern me.
Scott Pelley: What’s your plan for Obamacare?
Donald Trump: Obamacare’s going to be repealed and replaced. Obamacare is a disaster if you look at what’s going on with premiums where they’re up 40, 50, 55 percent.
Scott Pelley: How do you fix it?
Donald Trump: There’s many different ways, by the way. Everybody’s got to be covered. This is an un-Republican thing for me to say because a lot of times they say, “No, no, the lower 25 percent that can’t afford private. But–”
Scott Pelley: Universal health care.
Donald Trump: I am going to take care of everybody. I don’t care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now.
Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of. How? How?
Donald Trump: They’re going to be taken care of. I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, if this is probably–
Scott Pelley: Make a deal? Who pays for it?
Donald Trump: –the government’s gonna pay for it. But we’re going to save so much money on the other side. But for the most it’s going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything.
OK wait a second.
I saw the comments about single-payer on another thread.
But there was also another thread in which the specific details of Trump’s tax plan were given, and they seem to call for a drop in the marginals for the highest income levels, as well as slashing capital gains taxes (also typically in mind when people talk about “taxing the rich”).
So there may be a point about Trump on health care, but it seems this article is false w.r.t. Trump’s tax plan.
I dont know enough to evaluate his offsets. Anyone know if they are the real deal and will make this budget revenue neutral.
Which means he would have to cut government to cut the deficit, though rising growth rate would bring more money in.
He did not raise taxes on the wealthy. He lowered them from 39% to 25%.
Single payer FOR THE UNINSURED is what it says. He promoted private ownership and sale across state lines for the non-needy.
I suppose we could write irresponsible people another big check and let them buy their own.
It’s getting old, that’s for sure. This article, and the people who are cheering it on, are shading the truth.
True or not I’m still a Cruz fan. The thing I like about Donald is he forcing into play issues liberals rather keep censored. He’s enraging the right people , living rent free in their heads and driving them nuts with his polling! He’s good entertainment as well, a real showman!
Yeah, I had thought Breitbart was generally pro-Trump, but this is a complete mangling and misrepresentation of what he actually said.
I believe Trump has said that if the VA doesn’t shape up he’ll give vets access to the regular market as well.
“another thread in which the specific details of Trumps tax plan were given”
Please, where is it? I’ve found only editorializing on, and ‘summaries’ of, it.
I hate our greedy dishonest media.
any one or media who’d categorize a tax plan or a healthcare plan based on a few words is unhelpful.
He didn’t say charity. He didn’t say low cost. He said that HE would make deals, and that the government would pay. Real solid conservative plan he’s got there, Trumpette.
Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of. How? How?
Donald Trump: the governments gonna pay for it. But were going to save so much money on the other side. But for the most its going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything.
