At Trump Tower, only a few blocks away from the meeting of world leaders at the United Nations, GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump announced his new plan to reform the U.S. tax code. After the main announcement, he took questions from the press.
On how his plan would address income inequality:
TRUMP: In terms of income inequality, we're going to create a lot of jobs. You know, right now we have a false [unemployment rate] 5.4%, 5.3%, 5.6%, every month it is different. It is such a phony number. Because when people look and look and look and then they give up looking for a job, they're taken off the rolls so the number isn't reflective.

Government and their msm propagandists, you mean.
At the very beginning of Reagan’s first term, the Today show had some labor expert and the Today show talking head was commenting and asking about the unemployment rate.
The Labor guy said this along these lines”
“If a person is unemployed the that persons real rate is 100%”.
Pretty much summed it up in a nut shell and I never forgot that.
Again he is simply saying what many millions of people have thought 100 times about the fake unemployment rate.
He has an amazing ability to unmask popular lies.
GO TRUMP...!!
The only potential issue I see with this is that it implicates both parties, especially those in the Congressional majorities. If the real UE numbers are up, why aren’t the Republicans investigating this? The Obama administration is reporting and taking credit for reducing the UE rate; why aren’t these numbers challenged? Is the method wrong? Find out why, and fix it.
he’s right on!
outside of several specialized fields (and some retail), there are basically NO jobs for people who want to work....even in supposedly ‘properous’ areas...
Trump is also right about many of our jobs having moved (and are still moving) to China and Mexico, etc.
This is not entirely due to the causes Trump says, but the result is the same ... and whoever we elect has to correct this problem. It is destroying America ....
as the youth cannot get employment...(so they go criminal, go on welfare, or run up educational loan debts they will never repay).
SOME of those 94 million are legit: Students, housewives home schooling (should really be counted as a job!), etc.
But as kabar has illustrated well on FR, employment and wages, especially for the middle class, in the US, is a train wreck.
Trump should push the connection with “immigration”, hard. It affects a LOT more people than crime committed by illegals.
Certainly...
The FoxNews Business report spot on Trump’s tax plan, poked fun at his 40% figure.
He’s right. They are wrong, and they played it off as if he didn’t know what he was talking about.
He certainly does.
Show me where I'm wrong.
IF A MAN WON’T WORK, NEITHER LET HIM EAT
Because the government doesn’t always follow Biblical principles, sometimes those who are unwilling to work are still provided food, shelter, and clothing.
This is hard for Christians to understand. Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, “For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. (2 Thess. 3:10)”
There has always been the expectation that able-bodied people work and provide for themselves. Those who can work but won’t are a burden on everyone else.
“3 The LORD will not allow the righteous to hunger, But He will reject the craving of the wicked.
4 Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.
Christians, who are characterized by generosity, are under no obligation to feed those who won’t work. It might seem heartless and difficult to follow, but lazy people don’t learn their lesson if they are continually supported and excused for bad behavior.
If God rejects the craving of the wicked, so should we.
OUCH!
That’s hard to write, but it’s true.
I will answer any question when you answer the question about the repeal of DADT. Are you in favor of openly gay persons serving in the military? Yes or No.
Nobody can doubt that the economy has been gutted by OZero. Remember 2008? Wall Street went into a panic once it was clear that the Kenyan national was ahead in the polls.
Lending stopped. Investing stopped. What could have been a small setback for the economy turned into a catastrophe. We lost Lehman Brothers and millions of jobs just in anticipation of OZero’s neo-Maoist policies.
Since then, things have only gotten worse.
Now the oil industry is getting hammered. Obama won’t protect our country in any way shape or form.
A lot of the categories you “discount” are there in big numbers precisely because the employment & wage situation IS so bad. “Might as well go back to school / stay in college / retire / “stay home” / see if I can get by on disability / etc. when the opportunities are so cr***y”, and the support system so benevolent.
Also, look at that 157 million “employed” a little harder. MANY are underemployed, though technically employed, and beyond that, wages for most are performing very badly.
Again I reference Kabar’s posts of the data (maybe he’ll repeat some here.)
Trump did not make it up. He has been referencing this July 1 analysis since he entered the race:
May suggest you not count of the BLS, they have lied consistently.
So I refer you to John Williams site: http://www.shadowstats.com/
There is plenty of information there.
Trump said he had HEARD from some economists it was up to 32%; some economists say its as high as 42%.
Since they have everyone's SS Number they know exactly how many people have weekly withholdings from their pay check, so they know exactly how many people are working just subtract that number from the work pool and wallah, you have the real percentage.
I believe the one word answer is "GOPe". Or "uniparty" if you prefer.
