I saw that, maybe that’s why he is resigning. Maybe standing so close to the Pope he came to the realization of all the evil he has been supporting under Obama and the prospect of burning in hell for eternity lost it’s taste.

Before everyone celebrates, my question is that Boehner resigns - so what? There are reported to be somewhere around 80 conservatives in the House, which means there are about 167 non-conservative Republicans. We are not going to see a conservative elected Speaker.

Mr. Boehner’s surprise announcement came just a day after Pope Francis visited the Capitol, the fulfillment of a 20-year dream for Mr. Boehner of having a pontiff address Congress. He had a private audience with Francis before the pope’s address to a joint meeting of Congress.
Will the House now defund Obamacare and Planned Parenthood.
Perhaps we will find out who has been protecting them all along.
