for the first time since their deployment to Syria, debkafile’s military

The end game...Putin wipes out ISIS...The Russian Federation then rules Syria...and down the road apiece....then, the Russians take over Iran, and rule the entire Middle East an establish a tight relationship with Israel!!! Is ISIS now like the official Nazi party where everyone will kill them and every enemy of my enemy is my friend against ISIS? Al Qaeda doesn’t like them, Hezbollah doesn’t like them and by extension Iran, Russia doesn’t like them and we don’t like them.

Putin will eventually get his, but he actually has his sights set on Israel’s vast N/G reserves off the coast which dwarf anything Russia may have (so they say).
He actually called Bibi last week offering “Russian Protection” of these reserves with the might of the Russian military. Of course it was declined, so now they move in with the objective to “protect Assad”.
WE need to sit back, and let this play out. ISIS will make Russia’s involvement a nightmare. We should stay the heck out of it.

Sorry, but your scenario is total crap... Will never happen. Russia will be mired in this for years. They are not a super power. They will take a lot of losses.
We need to back off and let them do whatever they want to do over there. We in turn need to be energy self sufficient.

The "end game", given that Russia is simultaneously attempting to re-take its former Soviet states, is that Russia may ultimately control a huge chunk of eastern Europe AND the critically strategic Middle East. I did not say it was a good thing for the USA!!! In fact: it is a horrible outcome, brought about by our lack of leadership from POTUS Obama and his Democrat Party!!! It’s sick, but it looks like everybody but Saudi Arabia (and their ME puppets), the US, and Turkey want ISIS disintegrated. How did we ever become part of an Axis of Evil?
When I took History of Russia - since the time of the Czars. Russia has always wanted a foothold in the Middle East. Peter the Great strived to have the Black Sea in Russia’s power nearly had but lost it in a protracted war with others. Catherine the Great gained everything back with the Crimea and established Russian domination, Stalin set up his villa near the Black Sea.
Russia always has an ulterior motive - Middle east Russia’s Manifest Destiny. The only problem is that the final battle of humankind will take place on the Plains of Megiddo (Armageddon). We can only watch to see what happens - the Middle East a hotbed, ripe for many years of hardship and anguish.
