Donald Trump stands at 32 percent favorability right now, according to the latest Morning Consult tracking poll. Hugh Hewitt joins Morning Joe to discuss.

People still realize Trump will be beholden to no one but himself and the voters, though anyone else who might win the nomination (for EITHER party) will essentially be owned by rich and powerful individuals and organizations who raise the thousands of millions of dollars of the necessary campaign contributions.
The Koch brothers, Rupert Murdoch, Tom Steyer, George Soros, and all the other billionaires are totally hosed if Trump is elected President because theyll have no one to buy. Even Trump just being nominated means theyll ALL be forced to buy the Democrat nominee, because that will be the only candidate on the auction block. Sucks to be a billionaire these days.
The backstabbing elite of the Republican Party who stuffed his campaign with over $100 million. It's actually encouraging that they're such a small percentage of the Republican Party.
But they aren't goin' easy...
Cruz can.
I love what Trump is doing right now, but he needs to how out before the primaries. I’ll not vote for him. Walker and Cruz are the only ones that will get my vote, and only one is still running.
who the heck is voting for Jeb? Sheesh”
And 4% for Christie? That’s even more unbelievable.
Old republican voters without the internet.
Number 6 for now.
Bingo and that’s why his support is sustaining itself. Every other person running in that race has to please their rich donors including Ben Carson and Ted Cruz.
But, but, but, but....
In your post is the secret to trumps popularity: his base is VERY broad. He is not the conservatives’ choice. He is the choice of the pi$$ed off, which includes liberals, moderates and conservatives.
If he wins the nomination, he wins the presidency. And that is what scares me.
Morning Joe’s worth watching... Not this morning... Joe went over the edge on Carson... not pretty.
Carson never said he wanted to outlaw Muslims from running for President... but Joe took the low road... the popular low road. He chose NOT to understand what Carson was saying.
That aside, it’s a good show.
Patting my own back. I called this the day after the debate. It wasn’t about what happened in the debate. It was about widening lead over #2 guy, Carson, and Trump accomplished his mission.
GOPe power people. He will always have that base.
Hope so. The only one left I even remotely fear is Rubio. It’s actually better if Yeb and Rubio stay in and take from each other.
And name one historical issue where conservatives won. Anywhere. Any time. The only way conservative EVER win is by admitting they were wrong and becoming liberals. Magna Carta. Copernican theory. Evolution. Independence. Slavery. Civil rights. Women’s vote. Gay rights. Conservatives fought tooth and nail and lost every time. Every time.
Someone posted the above on a different chatroom. Would anyone care to rebuke this moron and I will post it in the appropriate place. Thanks!
Keep telling yourself that all those potential Trump voters are in reality Cruz supporters. Did it ever occur to you that Trump’s support is legit and not made up of Cruz supporters who are inflating his poll numbers?
So much for “burning out early”.
Like the mythical Antaeus, each time an attack is thrown at The Donald, he seems to come back stronger.
Antaeus was a Libyan giant who forced travelers passing through his land to compete with him in a wrestling match. He overwhelmed them all and used their skulls to roof the temple of his father Poseidon.
Antaeus was a son of Gaia of the Earth, and it was from her that he drew his invincible strength. When Heracles encountered him in the ring, Athene advised the him to lift the giant up from the earth in the contest. He did so, and weakening the monster was able to crush his ribs and kill him.
Like Antaeus, normal tactics will not work against The Donald. But nobody has a grasp of how to apply those alternate tactics, even if they might know of them.
LOL!
I love what Trump is doing right now, but he needs to how out before the primaries. Ill not vote for him. Walker and Cruz are the only ones that will get my vote, and only one is still running.
Just yesterday there was a lot of crowing, and strutting going on celebrating Trump’s downfall.
