A post-debate poll finds that Ben Cason has leap-frogged over businessman Donald Trump as the candidate most Republican voters believe will win the GOP nomination.
Rasmussen Reports said that 59 percent of likely Republican voters believe that Carson will end up on top after the primary and caucus season is over next year.
He is closely followed by Donald Trump, at 58 percent. Carly Fiorina at 40 percent and Jeb Bush at 40 percent.

DO, I have yet to see any policy statements from the other candidates with their name stamped on it.
All the whining we have heard, but no pollicy statements. You want to know why?
Because almost all of the other are on stage pretending to be conservatative and talking BS to get elected. They won’t put what they say on paper with their name on it.
How do we know Trump isn’t lying. We know because if somebody put a policy statement out there with Trump’s name on it, and it wasn’t Trump, he would sue the person and we would know about it! LOL
Everyone of those reprobates on stage has been guilty of unconservative things. How many are moving right and how many have moved left by backing amnesty and even gun control, accepting the premise of AGW, and going along with Hillary in stating that Trump should apologize to Obama for something he didn’t do?
None of them can be given a 100% pass that we can 100% believe them. One thing for certain, if they have any big association in good standing with the GOPe and Carl Rove, you really should be worried.
Carson isn’t much better, but at least he believes what he says. Even when I think it’s stupid, I have to at least give him credit for honesty. Trump is a liar who can’t be believed even when he’s saying things I agree with.
Whatever gets Trumpy out as soon as possible is good for the party, good for the conservative movement, and good for the country. Can’t come soon enough.
And considering that his whole campaign is “I’m leading in the polls”, I wonder how he’ll try to spin this? He can’t have it both ways.
He already put it on paper and his name was on it. What more do you want?
Thanks for the comments and the good points you raised.
I am in full agreement with you.
*Trump*, that is. Silly nicknames are beneath this discussion. I will stick to calling him a scumbag and a liar, but won’t be calling him any silly names.
Action, not words? Mitt put his name on papers promising all sorts of conservatism and has since torpedoed every conservative thing he can get involved in.
I doubt Trump will do likewise but I’ll go with Ronaldus on this. Trust but verify. Unless you think Ronnie should be ignored.
In the next year we will see what Trump does when the left ramps up the gun control.
The main thing that everyone needs to keep in mind is that no debate will ever change the fact that Trump will not be beholden to anyone but the voters, and anyone else who might win the nomination (for EITHER party) will essentially be owned by the rich and powerful individuals and organizations who raise the thousands of millions of dollars of the necessary campaign contributions.
That is why the big-money power brokers are in such a quandary. Ordinarily, they simply buy whomever looks to be most likely to win, but Trump doesn’t need nor want their money, so all they can do at that point is either attack Trump, “contribute” to losers (which is pretty pointless), or pull out of the game (which again is pointless). Therefore, the only rational option for the rich and powerful who are used to buying up all the necessary politicians is to take out Trump. They have no other choice.
“The main thing that everyone needs to keep in mind is that no debate will ever change the fact that Trump will not be beholden to anyone but the voters”
What makes you believe that any candidate will be beholden to voters? Once you elect them, they have 2/4 years to do anything they like.
That is why it is existential to put people of principle, whom you have reason to believe you can trust, into power and why the utter stupidity of pragmatic/lesser evil voting has destroyed the GOP and this country.
How can the percentage of people believing one candidate will be “at the top” go far beyond 100 percent?
No. Neither is Fioina. Flavor of the week/stop Trump.
Actually, yep, I am going to say it. At this point in time, Ted Cruz cannot win the national election. Why?
Ted Cruz needs a reverse Henry Higgins to teach him how to be Eliza Doolittle.
The electorate has changed. Ted is a freakin’ nerd. Great guy, but his style is not one that stands out in the electorate today. To be fair, in the debates, they don’t call on him much, but it is partly his own fault. He doesn’t go after another by naming them and he won’t butt in for time. When he gets time, he sounds like a great pontificator rather than a fighter for his cause. He is going to have to attack people in the debates. If he cannot do that, he will always be overlooked. When he gets time, he has to use it to the max. Not tell us, with pause and flourish about SCOTUS cases he was involved in.
Please Cruz guys, I like ya, I also like Ted, but I am not behind him unless I think he can win the general election.
It is not too late yet. That said. Cruz and Trump are like the Smothers Brothers (this dates me, but so what), you can’t have one without the other.
I am content to keep both at the moment. Both can school the other on certain things. It is early and the duo keeps both of them in the game for awhile. I do not trash either one. If I trashed Trump for Cruz, I would have to ask myself why my own candidate doesn’t trash that guy. Perhaps he is telling you something.
Okay, I am done.

Not even a good effort. Really, up your game man.
When you have a big extended family, spent enough time with MMORPG's, torturing yourself by spending any time on Reddit, etc, you pretty quickly identify the immaturity and lack of intellectual thought associated with comments by kids (typically to be ignored but I assume you are an adult who simply doesn't know how to debate too well and resorts to name calling as a crutch).
In truth, we probably agree on most of the issues, so before you feel the need to hurl more insults you might keep that in mind. Just because I don't believe Trump is an actual conservative and something of a clownish figure (his many silly faces on the debate stage as example A), doesn't mean on actual issues we disagree very much. Maybe try to keep it civil since insulting others isn't your strength.
Sounds fair.
Quit talking about Mutt, would ya!
“Carson isnt going to be the nominee. End of story.”

I agree. He’s a very nice man but there’s no fire in the belly.
We need a fighter and a brawler.
.
I didn’t address enough of your comments, so let me do so now.
You’re right. Policy statements from others aren’t forthcoming and or demanded. For this reason, you know the demand isn’t due to real interest. It’s to find something to take him down with.
A true interest “to know” would be broad, to all the candidates.
True enough, we know a number of the other candidates aren’t who they profess to be. And in fact, some of them make no bones about it. Look at Bush. That guy couldn’t care less what we think of him.
There’s more truth in your comment about Leftist things they’ve done, that most folks realize. Cruz voting for tha Corker bill and the support trade legislation, it’s really disconcerting to someone (me) who actually wanted him for the V.P. slot.
Frankly, it’s really demoralizing what you find out about folks. It causes you to lose faith in the system. Why are we getting such duplicitous jerks?
You tell us you oppose things. Then you cast votes that those things more likely to become reality.
Once again, thanks for the comments.
I love his silly faces. Who cares what you think?. The silly face was the one injected with so much botox she couldn’t make human expressions. But you could see the red faced seethe and burn. Made me laugh.
