Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina has sided against a Kentucky county clerk who has refused to issue marriage licenses for gay couples and received immediate pushback from conservative radio host Mark Levin.
Appearing on the Hugh Hewitt show, Fiorina said that even though she disagrees with the Supreme Courts ruling on same sex marriage, as a paid government employee the Rowan County clerk, Kim Davis coincidentally an elected Democrat, must execute the governments will.
I think in this particular case this woman now needs to make a decision of conscience. Is she prepared to continue to work for the government, be paid for by the government? Fiorina asked. Or does she feel so strongly about this that she wants to sever her employment with the government and go seek employment elsewhere?
Levin argued that Fiorina and conservatives should rally around Davis and condemn the Supreme Courts activist decision like Democrats do when a decision goes against them.
If she were of the left and it was a different circumstance theyd be rallying around her and so would the media, Levin said.
If the clerk were told you cannot issue a marriage certificate if there are different races, he asked, would she be told do your job or quit?
Listen to both clips below and tell us who you agree with.

"That clerk is not going to issue the license,.."The Supreme Court is not her Supreme Being, it's not God to her..." ~ Mark Levin
Carly, this is Charlie. Guess what? I refuse to vote for you now. The clerk is following the law of Kentucky, which prohibits marriage between members of the same sex.
She’s not “refusing to issue gay marriage licenses”; she’s refusing to issue ANY marriage licenses to anyone, gay or straight. You just don’t get a government-sanctioned marriage in Rowan County.
If the Extreme Court is going to force so-called “marriage equality” on the country, then this is precisely where we need to go — get the government out of marriage altogether.
According to Fiorina, if a German soldier had refused orders to kill Jews, they should be punished. After all, killing Jews was the law of the land.
If Zero and Billary don’t have to follow the Law then the Clerk has the right to follow what ever law she wants to.
Not hard to see how Fiorina buried two multi billion dollar companies, is it ?
She is not an employee she is an elected official.
“Shes not ‘refusing to issue gay marriage licenses; shes refusing to issue ANY marriage licenses to anyone, gay or straight. You just dont get a government-sanctioned marriage in Rowan County.”
But issuing marriage licenses is one of the duties of a County Clerk, as determined by the State of Kentucky. It’s not up to her to decide she’s just not going to do a portion of her job.
As for the “we’re not discriminating because we’re not providing to anyone” argument - it didn’t work when southern states decided to shut down their public school systems altogether rather than desegregate, and it won’t work now.
I think this entire argument is pretty much moot.
I do not see much Christian support for the defendant in this case and I would hope the case is carried as far as the money will take it, but in the end, I think we all know what is going to happen here.
Only this morning I heard a self proclaimed long term Christian conservative say that Jesus guides us in this matter and that we should render to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.(paraphrased)
It appears to me that this is the majority Christian opinion even though the SCOTUS decision is seen as totally bogus and indefensible.
I would take the case as far as you can go with it, but in the end, the defendant will have a choice to make, assuming it has not been made already.
IMO, there is only one legal way to fix this, and that is the Convention of the States route.
And there is also the other way the we sometimes refer to as a active revolution. (not the passive kind)
This is the law in Kentucky
Ky. Rev. Stat. 402.020(1)(d) Marriage between members of the same sex is prohibited and void

Thank you to Mark Levin. He’s a good man.
Carly will not get my vote.
She works for the people of her state who voted to define marriage as only between one man and one woman.
The court made the decision. Let them enforce it.
She’s also a Democrat. Levin usually does better research.
What’s the compelling government interest for same-sex unions, Carly?
So what?
Democrats fight for what they believe in.
Republicans roll over.
Re shutting down the schools (if that happened) is harming the education of the kids. Not issuing a marriage lisence is a minor inconvenience (go to a different county) which harms no one.
You do not defeat tyranny by submission, you defeat tyranny with disobedience.
The Constitution prohibits the state from imposing its' religion on us. The religion of the left is secular humanism and the left is imposing secular humanism on the nation which is clearly unconstitutional.
Donald Trump is a democrat too and do you support him! So if you support Donald Trump than you are no better than doing the research of Donald’s political affliations.
“Carly, this is Charlie. Guess what? I refuse to vote for you now.”
she wasn’t even an option. Heck, she’s pelosi with an R’ attached..
Pandering for that LGBT vote, eh Carly?
Regardless, I wouldn’t come up against the likes of Levin unless you’re real, real sure of what you believe, and are prepared to defend it.
Mark Levin wasn’t born yesterday.
