Donald Trump is maintaining a commanding 2-1 lead in the latest poll of GOP caucus goers in Iowa, and his only rival in double digits is another political novice, Dr. Ben Carson.
Former frontrunner FL Gov. Jeb Bush has tumbled into eighth place despite his $100-million bankroll.
In a Gravis Marketing poll of 507 Iowa Republicans conducted last Friday and Saturday, Trump has 31.7 percent to Carsons 15.8 and Bushs 4.1 percent. A Monmouth University poll released yesterday had showed Trump and Carson running neck and neck with 23 percent much to the excitement of the GOP establishment, including Fox News Channel.
But todays Gravis poll seems more in line with other recent surveys in the Hawkeye State, where the first caucuses of 2016 will be held five months from today on Feb. 1.
Trump is dominant across almost all demographic groups, leading Carson and Cruz among Hispanics with 29 percent. He also won a plurality among GOP voters who described themselves as both pro-life and pro-choice, those in the 18-49 age group, and Republicans declaring themselves moderate or slightly liberal.
Among Roman Catholics in Iowa, the Presbyterian Trump polls 40 percent to 11 percent for Carson. Bush, a Catholic convert who often claims to be guided by his faith, polled at 0.8 percent among his coreligionists.

GO Trump/Cruz 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought the GOPe bunch told us yesterday that Carson was tied with Trump? Didn’t last long, did it?
Just curious why Ted Cruz isn’t doing better in Iowa?
Continues to grow.
Freeedom is having nothing left to lose. Go trump
I thought that neck and neck poll between Trump and Carson looked a little odd.
GO Cruz/Trump 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
;-)
He didn’t say nice things about the ethanol subsidy.
There’s also this poll out from Loras College with Trump up 25-18 over Carson and Jeb at 10. Never heard of this outfit before.

31. Cool. Get to 35 Trump, and it is all over.
So the poll showing Carson tied with Trump in IA was an outlier, as I thought.
Right now it looks like the preference is for non-politicians.
Not sure if that holds up into next spring or not.
In any event, it’s a bad start to the season playing the first two contests in blueland. The first 10 primary/caucus should be in red states.
Great news for Trump fans!
Bad day for anti-Trumpers!!
Sure looks like it! Was’nt it from some University?
Liberal arts in all Universities are just that...Liberal!
Bad news for Faux News
bad news for GOPe
IIRC, the poll in question was Monmouth. They are pretty well-respected, but sometimes polls just miss the mark.
