Me pander-em to Red Brother and save-em planet in same powwow!
57th state?
Obama= The one who is high.
Is there ANY reason not to despise this useless pos?
This jackass flies to Las Vegas on Air Force One to rant about non-existent “climate change.”
Then he takes another trip to New Orleans for a 10-year anniversary of the Katrina shindig.
Now he’s flying to Alaska for three days?
What’s his carbon footprint for these three trips?
And isn’t there a spare Air Force One that follows him everyone he goes?
Unbelievable.
He’s renaming it after an SUV???
No one who lives in Alaska calls it Mt. McKinley. It has been Denali to them.
Sorry, we will keep Mount McKinley.
Where does the President get any authority to name anything on his own say-so?
Naming mountains is a prerogative of Congress, or whomever they delegate the task to, not the President.
Besides, naming it Denali is naming it after a Indian god, so that is mixing religion with the state.
Where’s Barry Lynn of the Freedom From Religion organization when you need him?
This is just a poke at Boehner, and a very expensive indication that the One is now officially lame duck.
President McKinley was from Ohio, and never even visited Alaska. The people of Alaska will not oppose this at all. They already call it Denali. So, there is no opposition, except in Ohio, since the 70’s, when is the first I remember it was proposed by Alaskans to change the name.
If I were an Ohio congress critter, I would just figure out how to rename something that’s named for some liberal icon within the state, such that Obama couldn’t do anything about it. Touche.
The next president should symbolically rename the largest open garbage dump in the world as Camp Barack Obama.
Renaming it “Mount Elizabeth Warren” to pacify American Indians?
When I first read this, I thought it was a joke. But Obama’s the joke.
This post is satire, right?
Strawman by the evil idiot
Alaska renamed it Denali in 1975 and since has been pressing the Feds to do the same according to an article in the Huffington Post.
McKinley never even stepped into Alaska. There was no reason to give that President the name. We were there and IMO the older name was more deserving.
If this was the worst thing he did the rest of his residency i would be okay with that..but we know better.
Could’ve named it after himself, Mt. Dipstick.
Beautiful day up here today. My wife and I drove an hour up the road to Talkeetna to have lunch and enjoy the view of Denali. As has been pointed out in many comments, no one up here calls the mountain McKinley except tourists, and all this does is bring the feds in line with what the state has been doing for decades. This thread sure brought out the jackholes though.
