Two years ago, Trump met with immigration activists who told them their stories and asked for his support on immigration. "You convinced me" Trump said as the meeting ended.

On an August day two years ago, Donald Trump was in a much different place: He was just a billionaire with the simple goal of connecting his beauty pageant business with the upcoming Hispanic Heritage Awards.
So at his New York penthouse office atop Trump Tower, he convened a meeting.
Trump ushered in a pair of men - one to talk about the awards and a Democratic strategist who works with nonprofits - and three young DREAMer activists. ...
But he also kept asking, "Can't you just become a citizen if you want to?" No, we can't the activists said, there's no process for that. Trump was reflective, the activists sad.
"You know, the truth is I have a lot of illegals working for me in Miami," he told them, using the term for undocumented immigrants those in the meeting found offensive.
...
"At the end of the day, what we're looking at is a value proposition for America," Tijerino said to Trump at the end of the meeting, referring to immigration legislation.
"You've convinced me," Trump said to the delight of the activists in the room.
"We all smiled at each other and said, 'Wow, we did it, we got this guy to change his mind," Pacheco said. Two years later they see a showman just playing to the crowd.

Good con men can convince both sides. I have never said Trump wasn’t good.
Check this out...
There you Trumpezes go again with your ‘logic’ and ‘reasoning’.
He said ‘You convinced me’! And then he handed him a maxi pad for the blood coming out of his wherever.
Are you guys are just so blinded that you’ll excuse anything???
Why not? Trump seems to have been on every side of every issue at one time or another, including supporting people of different parties and philosophies. As in the debate, you give people money to get what you want, I would assume you would also tell people what they want to hear to get what you want. This would cause many of us to have doubts about his veracity and where he really stands and is it temporary. The country is in need of a warrior, but he needs to also be a righteous man and be at war for us and the Constitution.
Donations to Democrats, universal health care, guns, amnesty, Planned Parenthood, gay marriage, eminent domain...how much farther does he have to go?
This is the Trump who supported a “wealth tax” surcharge on the wealthy, the one that donated to Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation, and Harry Reid. It is the real, liberal Donald Trump.
Whatever Trump is if he ever gets into office will almost certainly not remotely resemble this incarnation of Trump trying to win the GOP nomination.
The man is a chameleon. You could say he is a populist, a protectionist, but most certainly not a conservative.
Say this about him though, he has a fanatical group of followers on par with Ron Paul’s paulbot brigades. I just saw another conservative site had to start a banning policy due almost entirely to angry, obnoxious Trumpkin loyalists.

That’s what it sounds like to me. This was before the surge of children coming over her since Obama opened the gates too. If someone had been brought over as a child years ago, had gone to school here, and was a productive, law abiding person I would grant them more consideration. But they are the exceptions in my opinion.
Yeah, we can’t have Trump doing that. We need to elect some politician to do that like we’ve been doing for the last 40 years. Because they’re the ticket. They’re ‘conservative’. They check all the right boxes. Trump told some guy that he ‘convinced’ him. That’s it, I’m throwing my support behind someone that doesn’t change his views ever! You know, like Scott Walker! Or Ted Cruz. Nobody ever ‘convinces’ those guys.
“Trumpettes”
I thought it was “Trumpians”.
Like I said...
I noticed that with the tax policy too.
“There is no evolution here, only another slanted hit piece”
If anyone involved here has a name ending in ...guez or ...quillo, you can be reasonably certain that the information is bull$hit!
LOL! Trump was just punking them to get support from a Latino group to increase profits for his pageant. Idiots thought they “convinced” him, even though he used the term “illegals” in their presence? Hilarious.
“...because I’m not sure he HAS any true believes on this (or any) issue. I think he is motivated 100% by attention, by being able to stand in front of a crowd of adoring fans. So, he will say whatever he thinks the people he is talking to want to hear.
Talking to a crowd full of GOP base voters? He’ll give ‘em some red meat.”
You are 110% correct. You nailed the true essence of Trumpet right there. Put on your flame-retardent underwear beacuse his sycophants are gonna try to tear you a new one because of your post!
TMS (Trump Mania Syndrome Alert) in post #3.
Yawn.
Trump can flip flop on just about every issue and yet you still trust him.
Keep drinking the Kool aid...
BTW, how does it taste?
I want you to think about the size of the internment camps he's going to need to do that with anything more than a hand-wave... the water, sewage treatment, and transportation requirements, not to mention parking.
Hence, even if he could get them out of the country, it will be a handwave and we'll be right back where we are.
