Once again, the left has exploited the ruminations of a grieving father to push gun control.
In an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo Thursday, Andy Parker, the father of slain WDBJ journalist Alison Parker, demanded that his daughter's death at the hands of a murderer may be a cause to bolster politicians into passing more gun control laws.
"If I have to be the John Walsh of gun control and -- look, I'm for the Second Amendment, but there has to be a way to force politicians that are cowards and in the pockets of the NRA to come to grips and make sense -- have sensible laws so that crazy people can't get guns. It can't be that hard," said Parker in reference to John Walsh, the man who created America's Most Wanted.
Parker also demanded that politicians get to work passing this gun legislation right away rather than giving him time to grieve.
"[P]oliticians from the local level to the state level to the national level, they sidestep the issue. They kick the can down the road. This can't happen anymore," he said. "And I know that the NRA, their position is going to be -- I can hear it now. They're going to say, 'Oh gee, well, if they were carrying, this never would have happened,'" Parker said.
"I've got news for you. If Alison or Adam had been caring an AK-47 strapped around their waist, it wouldn't have made any difference," he continued. "They couldn't have seen this thing coming. So I don't want to hear that argument from the NRA, and you know that's going to happen. And I'm going to take it on."
Andy Parker's statement echoes similar statements made by Richard Martinez, the father who lost his son during a shooting near the University of Santa Barbara in 2014. Both have now been used by the left to push gun control.
Even worse those released insane inmates are breeding now. If locked up the gene pool of crazies shrinks, we now have the opposite situation.
Another USEFUL IDIOT comes to the forefront.
Did he ever think that if someone who was near the shooter and saw what what was going to happen had a gun HIS DAUGHTER WOULD STILL BE ALIVE.
No, he never thought of that. The only thing he thought about was the extra notoriety he would get in addition to his daughter’s death if he went with the gun issue.
He should get to the range and practice more.
"When seconds count, cops are just minutes away!"
Tragically, he loses his daughter the day before and he takes to the air waves to attack the 2nd amendment. Seems a strange way to grieve. You can bet he will be a shill for the democRATS. His daughter, was a victim of an affirmative action, racist, mental case, but the media will have none of that.

I think if the victims had been openly armed there is a good chance that Lester would never have attacked them in the first place. It was their complete vulnerability that allowed him to carry out his plan. When Lester finally came face to face with armed opposition, he killed himself.

he can’t blame himself. he is certainly a libtard and his views created the disgruntled black queer that did the deed.
To paraphrase an old quote: The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution. To a committed leftist, human life is just another tool to advance the cause.
How about doing something positive and go for “Heart Control” by persuading people to return to the Bible and their churches? That would be a better idea.
I'm certain we do, but you missed my main point, which was, why does it even matter to you to the extent that you felt the need to bring it up? It is the last thing on any normal person's mind when discussing this murder of innocent people.
I blame Flanagan. But also blame congress for passing the Community Mental Health Act of 1963. Plus that the membership of the American Psychiatric Association voted to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder in 1974.
And isn’t it ironic?
More interested in their 15 minutes of fame.
They feel they now have an unassailable platform for their activism, the dead body of the daughter/fiance.
They couldn’t have waited for her body to cool down before they jumped in front of the camera?
My sympathy is with with the dead lady and her coworker.
Her family gets none from me.
That’s the new normal now for a society awaiting judgement....
My now wife of 5 years and I toyed with the idea for awhile. Thankfully my Born Again BIL stepped in a gave me good advice.
Someone needs to ask this loon “what gun control would have saved your daughter”.
Then grasp it tighter. Sorry about your daughter but the problem here wasn't the gun.
In all fairness, what father would not be bitter at losing such a beautiful daughter?
The sad part is that that bitterness is being turned against the millions who have done him no harm, rather than being vented at the person who has brought this hideous evil upon him and his family.
Mr. Parker,
I don't know if you will ever read this, but just in case, here goes.
I can understand the pride you felt in seeing your beautiful baby girl grow into womanhood, graduate College, and accomplish a good start at a budding career.
I can understand how it felt to look forward to walking her down the aisle and the bittersweet moment of giving her up to a man who would love her, to be her husband.
I, thankfully cannot fully comprehend the grief you must feel in losing her to the actions of a patently racist homosexual who was mentally unbalanced.
You are, unfortunately, not the only father to ever suffer this sort of grief, though the specifics may vary.
Every woman murdered by whatever means was once someone's baby girl, like that smiling toddler who ran up to you screaming "Daddy!" with unbridled glee at seeing you come home from work. Who ran to you with the skinned knees, cut fingers, and later, heartaches, for solace.
You gave her a lot, and it hurts like Hell for someone to take her from you.
Please consider this. There are millions of us who have spent just a little more time teaching our baby girls to shoot, to defend themselves and eventually their children, and in our old age, perhaps even us, to carry that torch of responsibility with their heads held high, in hopes of never becoming a victim.
Those who would turn your grief to suit their own ends would stop that; they would deprive all those daughters and sons of the means to defend themselves against physically superior attackers.
Admittedly, that isn't perfect. They will not all be able to do so because of surprise, stealth of their attackers, or other factors. I am here, however asking you as one who knows the grief only a father can know, to not deprive our daughters of that chance to defend themselves from maniacs and crackpots bent on harming or killing them.
I will pray for you and your family, that Almighty God bring you Peace of spirit when it seems no one else can, and pray you do not let those who have a far more vast agenda deprive our daughters of their chance to survive.
May Almighty God Bless you sir, and your remaining family, and receive your daughter's soul into His arms that you may someday be reunited.
Smokin' Joe
