CENTURY CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Two brazen suspects armed with assault rifles held up a Rolex store at the Westfield Century City Shopping Center Monday afternoon, firing at least one shot during the robbery. No injuries were reported.
Authorities say the armed robbery happened in the 10000 block of Santa Monica Boulevard at 12:01 p.m. The gunmen went up the escalator to the mall and headed straight to the store during lunch hour.
A security guard tried to stop the suspects from entering, but when he tried to shut the door, the suspect fired a round into the store.
"All the people in the store were ordered to lay down on the ground," said LAPD Lt. John Jenal.
The suspects fled with an undetermined amount of merchandise. They headed back down the escalator, where a third suspect was waiting in a getaway vehicle.

I go to this mall a lot..it’s under construction(They are building a mega mall) the perps are described as “3 black men wearing dark clothing” Im shocked the local media actually described them they usually just say “Men in their 20s” when you already know they are black but the media refuses to state their race

When criminals target enclaves of wealth and privilege, the gloves come off.
Think about the low key response by the media to the much more questionable killing of Eric Garner in New York City, capital of the globe, compared to the blatantly false narrative in Ferguson, Missouri, a small lower middle class suburb of St. Louis where zero rich, powerful or well connected people live.
A big part of the current PC climate is a double standard where rich liberals in places like SF and NYC are allowed to use aggressive and sometimes unconstitutional measures to control crime but poorer more conservative parts of the country are brought before inquisitions over imagined brutality and racism.
I am shocked the author did not call them “high power” assault rifles.
You know haow common they are now that anyone can snatch one up at a gunshow.
"That's not a Rolex. That's a fake. Probably cost you $5."
"No, it's for real! Look, it says 'Rolex' right here! Where are you going? OK, special price just for you, my final offer, $50! Come back!!!"
Was the security guard UNARMED?
According to the story all he attempted to do was lock the door to keep them from entering.
They said what race they were! Made it past the editorial censors. Someone probably lost their job.

In the 1990’s, our oldest son went on “Teens Westward Bound,” a bus tour across the country for high school students. One day, the tour bus went down to Tijuana, and afterward, he called, thrilled, that he had bought a Rolex for only $20. I could not convince him he had been taken, even though the watch had a Quartz movement. He called the next day, dejected that the second hand had fallen off.
