By REENA FLORES CBS NEWS June 28, 2015 GOP Gov.: "Time To Move On" From Same-Sex Marriage
Possible Republican presidential candidate and Ohio Gov. John Kasich believes it's "time to move on" from the same-sex marriage issue in the wake of the Supreme Court's landmark ruling.
"I do believe in traditional marriage and the court has ruled and it's time to move on," Kasich said on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday, adding that there's "so many other things now that we have to focus on."
Gov. John Kasich talks issues ahead of possible 2016 run Kasich, who has not yet officially announced a bid for the White House in 2016, believes the country needs to wait and see "how this evolves."
"I think everybody needs to take a deep breath to see how this evolves," the Ohio governor, who was the named defendant in the original lawsuit brought by Jim Obergefell over same-sex marriage, said. "But I know this. Religious institutions, religious entities - you know, like the Catholic church - they need to be honored as well. I think there's an ability to strike a balance."
But while the Republican governor has conceded that "it's the law of the land and we'll abide by it," some in the conservative wing have expressed their willingness to take on the same-sex marriage fight over the long term.
Same-sex marriage opponent: conservative beliefs need to be respected Russell Moore of the Southern Baptist Convention told CBS' "Face the Nation" that people of faith "are not going to simply surrender" their traditional marriage views because of the Supreme Court ruling.
"We didn't make up our views on marriage and sexuality, and we can't unmake them," Moore said Sunday.

FUJK! ... And the whore you rode in on!
How?
Vichy Republicans.
“The Nazis invaded. They’re here. Learn to live with it. It’s time to move on.”
Another reason why Kasich won't be president. Remarks like these show a lack of leadership. We need a president with balls. Kasich lost his somewhere.
“it’s the law of the land and we’ll abide by it,”
So was slavery.
Are we to accept abortion? It’s the law of the land.
Go home and grow a pair Governor.
“Asked whether same-sex marriage was a “dead issue,” Trump told the magazine, “Some people have hopes of passing amendments, but it’s not going to happen. Congress can’t pass simple things, let alone that. So anybody that’s making that an issue is doing it for political reasons. The Supreme Court ruled on it.”
[ Trump told the magazine, Some people have hopes of passing amendments, but its not going to happen]
TED CRUZ will make it a priority to protect Traditional Family Values.
On one this instance I agree with Kaisich, in that I simply am tired of hearing about faggot and dyke marriages and don’t want to hear it anymore. The whole issue of sodomite marriages is repulsive and no matter how much caterwauling they do about it, it is not going to change my mind.
LOL. Evil J. Kasich wants to abandon Truth/Science/God for radical egalitarianism (Marxism) where irrational evil Laws are “normal” and can “pretend” they are Rational and Just (as all Just Law has to promote “public virtue” (Montesquieu) and Truth/Science.
Throwing out Natural Law and Biology for the dysfunctional, degrading vice of sodomy-—to promote the Samurai/Spartan or Afghani Worldview where human beings can be stripped of purpose and Reason and meaning in a so-called “Justice” (virtue) System....is stupid and DUMB.
These brain-dead people who embrace Satanic Ethics instead of the American Justice System need to be in re-education camps. Promoting this cr*p strips Right Reason and Logic and Science from our legal system which is EVIL.
So Trump and Kasich share similar views on gay marriage. Away with BOTH of them.
Buh bye
I suppose socons will “get over” same-sex marriage around the same time the left stops trying to immanentize the People’s Republic of America.
Surrender Monkey, so typical of GOP
Like it or not, Kasich is correct. A 5-4 decision from the Supreme Court made this the law of the land. It can only be undone by the Supreme Court or by amendment.
We need to focus on the next battle: religious freedom. People and institutions should be able, based upon beliefs, to only recognize traditional marriage. This is a very winnable position, and has majority support in the polls.
This underscores the importance of the Supreme Court in the next Presidential election. The next Pres will pick at least one justice (Ginsberg, who can’t live forever). It is essential that this seat be filled with a Republican
appointee.
“Moving On” is just another name for admitting defeat. “Moving on” is allowing the enemy to take the high ground. “Moving on” is another word for surrendering to the enemy.
You want to “move on” - go right ahead and show your indifference; but, tell me, when they finally go for their real goal - the abrogation of all “age of consent” laws ... will you then agree to “move on” from that to?
I really despise a coward.
Inch by inch, yard by yard the pathetic, cowardly Republican party moves away from common sense and reality. Caving on all sides, trying to be all things to all men they prove their inability to lead. When you offer yourself to emotion rather than reality and biology, count me out.
Start with a law from Congress giving this freedom. Variations of this are the law. Next comes a test case. Even with this court, the faith exception should prevail - but that decision is a few years off.
I believe that, unless a Dem Pres can pack the Court with 2+ appointees, that this compromise will be the law.
You do not strike a balance with evil - you stomp it out of existence. Wanna bet Kasich is either a closet queen of else somebody has evidence of him sodomizing a minor?
