The geniuses in the Washington, D.C.- centered GOP establishment have a new plan to take down 2016 Republican frontrunner Donald Trump: Infiltrate his inner circle posing as an ally, then use their fabricated support of him to secretly plot to take him down.
But now they all admit: They were wrong, Trump is real, and he has a serious shot at winning this thing.
“Just like Humphrey Bogart said in Casablanca, I was misinformed,” Alex Castellanos, one such consultant, said of Trump in an interview with Bloomberg Politics on Friday. “He’s grown. He started off as the anti-Washington candidate, the angry man’s candidate, now he’s becoming not just an anti-them vote but a pro-him. He’s becoming the Make America Great Again candidate and that gives him room for growth.”
“Anybody who discounts Donald Trump—he’s going to be around through the convention now—I think is making a mistake,” Castellanos added.
From there, the conversation turned to how Castellanos thinks Trump might be taken down—and who might do it. He said:
Well you have two angles to look at that—he’s sitting on a bunch of people down there on the conservative side. He’s sitting on Sen. Ted Cruz . I doubt Ben Carson is going to do anything about that, but at some point Ted Cruz is going to wake and figure ‘this race is going to end and I’m never going to catch up.’ Then on the other side, the establishment side, you can wait a little longer. Whether it’s a Carly Fiorina or a Jeb Bush or a Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 80% , don’t stand in front of the tsunami right now and just coalesce—become a better, stronger candidate so you can be in the lead ...

First, Ted Cruz is no Cassius, he's Mark Anthony.
Second, Cruz is likely laughing-- it's the Establishment that is getting less than 40% of the vote- Cruz knows that it's the Establishment that has to take Trump out-- Cruz doesn't have to do a thing, but await that outcome. .

If the GOPe tries to take him down... if? They’ve been trying and failing. All they are doing is sinking themselves.
I’m a Cruz guy, and I think its going to be Trump/Cruz. They are going to win this thing walking away. GOP can’t do anything to stop them.
Heck, given the circumstances, the GOP might want to consider the possibility that their consultants are following the exact same plan that they line out, and are the close allies of the GOPe that are about to stab them at the crucial moment.
Ted Cruz likely wouldn’t do anything because he already knew that he would not the nomination the first time around. He will gladly take the VP nomination if offered.
It wouldn’t be Carly because she is considered an outsider. It could be Huckabee.
I hope so. Trump goes 4 years and hands off to CRUZ.
That way we get 12 years of sanity instead of just 8.
Cruz will ultimately go after Donald, just not now. I think he likes Trump, but doubt he’ll offer him VP.
Trump is no Ceaser.
But then, he doesn’t have to be.
We are in the end phase of this form of government. I keep wondering when the new “strong man” steps up. There are two running right now, Sanders and Trump.
GOP consultants do not want to take TRUMP down..
ONLY to appear to want to take TRUMP down..
They want to take TED CRUZ down by chasing people to TRUMP..
Nobody trusts THEM... it’s a ruse...
It’s Ted Cruz they want to make a back burner..

If they’d worked this hard to get rid of the lawless Muslim traitor they wouldn’t have had to deal with Trump whose right on many things and they know he’s just saying what the real Americans are thinking; at least the taxpaying ones.
If only they put this much energy into getting rid of the Kenyan clown-show...
Same thing they did to Palin to secure the election for Obama.
Same thing they did to Romney by advising him to “go soft” on Obama after he surprisingly won the first debate.
The GOP consultants are geniuses at getting Democrats elected, which has been their goal for a long time.
That would definitely work for me. The destructive progressives have to go though or either just shut up for a change.

I’m a Cruz guy too. Cruz is the expert here, and he will be President Cruz. I can’t predict where Trump will be, but it WON’T be Trump/Cruz.

That would be the best of all worlds. I like Trump for all the obvious reasons, but his defects are no secret.
Cruz is the real thing. He is the gold standard.
