I'm thinking Trump/Cruz 2016 would be a very, very powerful ticket

Posted on 08/20/2015 6:58:20 PM PDT by Bigtigermike

Although I would prefer Cruz, I would have no problem voting for TRUMP. Adding a conservative mastero in Cruz to an Anti-Establishment (both parties) populist in Trump would be a winning team in my mind. Trump is a moderate all right but not a Republican Establishment kind-of moderate as in willing to back-stabbed conservatives because these moderates are really libs that just wouldn't make in the Democrat Party. So adding a conservative firebrand in Cruz who are probably Trump supporters second choice and vice versa would be a wining team that would rattle a weaken Hillary, an misguided socialist Bernie or a possible Biden ticket. With Trump's age, who knows if he would serve just one term and pass it on to a Vice President Cruz if not later on

listen, we can’t forget that about two months ago....Trump actually said who he would like.

Problem is, he said Oprah.

Yikes.

Hopefully he has moved on from that.....

Totally agreed. Originally I was more for Cruz, but the question isn’t ‘whom do I like better’ it’s ‘who will actually get more of the sh*t done that needs to get done.’

In other words, who will move America and Americans. With Cruz - that’s a limited number -> he doesn’t have the charisma factor, and frankly Trump has 3 times as many excited about him - that VERY much goes to effectiveness in moving Washington / Congress etc.

They would be an unbelievable team, and after 2 terms, Cruz would have enough rubbed-off charisma along with himself growing into himself as a leader, that he would be unstoppable after that.

The reality at this moment, though, is more Americans will back Trump and more importantly follow him, and frankly Cruz could never have gotten the issues that are on the table now on the table in the first place.

The question for now has to be one of pure effectiveness, ability to deliver, ability to lead (meaning already has people following NOW) ability to bulldoze the media and other liars ... the question is not ‘technically better thought out views and eloquent speech.’

Cruz is a young man. It would be great for him to get a term or two as vp before moving up.

Well in the show Twin Peaks they kept talking about that cherry pie...how great that cherry pie was. I never did get up to the Pacific Northwest to sample that cherry pie for myself but I will take their word for it.

Now speaking of cherry pie, I'm also thinking Donald Trump and Ted Cruz would make a good ticket but I'm thinking it would be too good to be true.

"16 years of Ted Cruz and then a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court would suite me nicely."

That's exactly what I'm thinking. And Cruz after 8 years under Trump ... would make his only 8 years as president doubly powerful, because he'll walk into it already having mastered it.

This scenario would not surprise me at all ... at least not the attempt. Who knows whether the silly Americans will see the wisdom in it.

Here’s the link to Fiorina praising Islam 2 weeks after 911.

Thanks but no thanks, Carly.

Like I said and even what a lib wrote in the Washington Post of all places:
"It's not that Trump is a moderate Republican. It's that he's a moderate, full stop. And he's the kind of moderate that really exists, not the kind of moderate Washington likes to pretend exists." Conservatives can deal with a Trump unlike GOPE who don't want to work with conservatives

Quoting from your link: "There was once a civilization that was the greatest in the world."

"was" stands out.

I'd need to hear what she said, not read a hit piece against her. Sorry

I’ve been saying Trump/Cruz all along. As much as I like Cruz, I think he’d be better as VP for a while getting some serious experience. Trump’s can do attitude and optimism is just the thing for this go round, and with Cruz as co pilot, I don’t think anybody could stand a chance, even if they have to run 3rd party. With Trump out of the picture, I don’t think anybody could really challenge the establishment. So he has to stay, and Cruz is the obvious choice for VP. Who else has already been challenging the status quo for a couple of years like Cruz? And Trump should be looking for someone else who sees things from a similar viewpoint...That ain’t Walker or Rubio, Carson is too laid back, he likes Carly but I doubt that would happen, I don’t look for her to have a lot of staying power anyway. Cruz is tailor made for the part. And every bit as smart as Trump is...I won’t say smarter, that’s a toss up...

I still think 3rd party is a possibility, the GOP establishment is still trying to come up with a way to get Trump outta there, and I have no doubt they’ll cheat to do it too. And remember he still hasn’t ruled it out, only saying he’d stay republican if they treat him fairly. If they cheat to yank the rug out from under Trump, look out 3rd party and with the following he’s already built, I think all the stuffed suits are dead wrong, he can still win. He’s also still hogging all the media time too. That counts for a lot. More people every day are wondering what all the hoopla is about, from every party too.

I’m also wondering if that was the real reason behind the Trump/Cruz powwow not long ago. Neither one is talking, trying to pass it off as just a friendly get together for lunch...too quiet, I smell something going on behind the scenes. Cruz has been specific about not attacking, while whitewashing it as not attacking any republican...Both played down the meeting...so what’s up?

Welcome to the private sector, @$$holes.

They wouldn't know what to do. They'll probably fake a disability to get SSI.

As I have been saying! Trump/Cruz ticket. Trump retires after a few years and hands the reigns over to Cruz to finish off the dems.

Trump Goes to the top of the polls and by all means carries with him Cruz and Carson! In my opinion it's a good thing! I personally like Trump but in particularly like his ability to include Cruz and Carson is dong great! Without Trump's momentum we would see only the GOPe choice, which is Jeb and all the other yadda yadda ,same old sound bites ,from the usual! I Want Trump to go all the way,it's the only way we can break this same old tired, let's all go along to get along crap we've been getting from the GOPe for way too damn long!
