In what may be the most important development in the 2016 Presidential race to date, Donald Trump has announced, and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) office has confirmed, that the GOP front-runner is consulting with the Alabama Senator in crafting his immigration plan for the future of America.
The real estate moguls announcement will send shock waves through Washington D.C. and all across primary states.
Trump, whose campaign has focused primarily on issues of immigration and trade, has seen a meteoric rise since entering the race, with throngs of supporters across the country rocketing him to the top of every single poll, despite an extraordinary effort of establishment Republicans to take him down. Republican pundits have lobbed every imaginable accusation at Trump. Yet these same pundits, while seemingly furious at the man, have demonstrated no similar concern, angst, or passion about the dissolution of our southern border, the rampant exploitation of guest-worker programs, the collapse of middle class wages, and the growing illegal immigrant crime wave.

When backed by big money (few are larger than the Feds), that vision thing is not all that tough.

Definitely agree which is why I am willing to give him a look at this point, but not a commitment.

That is what Reagan did. Find the best people, give them marching orders, take a nap. If they don't do the job, fire them and find someone who will. Then go take a nap. Heh....that's one thing you've got to give Reagan and Trump. They both were born to be the Boss!
I laugh, but the ability to appoint highly skilled people to tasks they're properly matched to, then leave them to get the dang job done, is actually quite high on the scale of leadership abilities.
As Chief Honcho In Charge, it's their job to get rid of poor performers and replace them with better performers. It's how Reagan and Trump achieved so much in their respective fields.

BOOM!!
I love Sen Sessions. He is a fine and honorable man. The GOPe (as in Midge) have done so much to malign Sen Sessions, even playing dirty tricks to strip him of his (earned!) committee Chairmanship position.
God bless Trump for consulting Sen Sessions, God bless Sen Sessions for fighting the good fight on ILLEGAL immigration.

In the unlikely event, Trump will have to bring in Boner and Ditch and spend some time knocking some sense and sence of urgency into them. Or fire them...

...but the main question is whether Trump's ego can be put in a lockbox long enough for him to actually act on Sen. Sessions advice or will he blast off in any direction that tickles his fancy once he gains the office? I don't know. Between this, Forbes, Laffer, and Cruz meetings it's looking like a "trend" to me....

Trump, hopefully, is going to learn that this massive, third world legal immigration is killing us & get a better sense of how to approach this side of the issue along with the illegal side. Not to pick nits, but Trump is the guy who lit this issue on FIRE over the last couple months. It's what catapulted him into the stratosphere in the Republican rankings.
I think he gets it. He's just seeking expert policy advisers, at this point.

If these were normal times, which they are not, them I would take a more jaundiced eye to Trump’s grasp of policy issues, but he “gets” the general idea that the culture, the nation, is near collapse. I’ve yet to see this fact shine through to everyone else in the race except Ted Cruz.
To: papertyger
He’s definitely setting the stage. I’m impressed with the “talks” he’s having recently, and coming up.

In my opinion, that’s the smartest move he’s made.
I have a great many reservations about Trump, but I’ll give him a big cheer for this. Jeff Sessions is a brilliant man who loves our country. He has more knowledge and understanding about this than anyone in the Senate.

I have to give credit where credit is due. Sessions is the right person to have on this. Good Job Mr. Trump. Rik, I've got to give you props for that. I know you've been hard on Trump, but the fact that you're calling good when you see it, speaks well of your character.
