Verbal announcement that the previous surgery for a liver tumor has now been diagnosed as a cancer and it has apparently spread beyond the liver.
Just keeping your mouth shut would have he higher road to take, but it seems like FR is becoming as tacky as the leftist sewers we always criticize.

I always thank Carter for getting me interested in politics and voting for the first time for Reagan.

I sense Carter was wrongheaded not wrong hearted. I do not agree with his politics or his socialist agenda but I honestly believe that he believed that what he did was right. He did not intentionally act to harm this country; not like some.
I certainly do not wish ill or suffering on him or hos family. He has had a good run and it is unfortunate he will suffer on his way out.

I think nothing was more effective in making me a Conservative than sitting in a classroom, half the lights turned off, thermostat set at 62, wearing my winter coat, reading the news stories about the entire world going to hell, watching my parents stress over the price of food and gas. All thanks to his administration.

Agreed. And having different take on political issues does not mean one is not a Christian, redeemed by Jesus. He has always openly and enthusiastically been a believer.
And some of the remarks here sound like what leftists do.
As much as I dislike him, I don’t wish this upon him. Hops he finds strength.
Usually age can outrun cancer, especially when you are over 90.
Hope he is made comfortable and hope the cure doesn’t kill him.
At that age it is hard to know how aggressive to get with treatment.

Keytruda has been impressive with several forms of cancer, melanoma and lung cancers I believe. Not certain about liver cancer, but immunotherapy is advancing.
Just so you know Jimmy, our nation has had cancer too since the mid 70s. The prognosis isn’t good, but it may survive. If it can get past the next 18 months, we may just make it.
For the record, I really don’t care what’s going on in your life. You can cancel the updates.
I would only wish for you the same treatment you as a Christian saw to it the Shah of Iran got, when he had cancer.

I see other classless remarks have been posted. For as hard as it is to tell the two parties apart inside the Loop, it’s getting equally as hard to tell the constituents apart in fly-over country. The classlessness and vulgarity that filled the leftist sites is nearly as prevalent on FR these days. It’s a reflection on all FReepers.
That said, I’ve seen some classy posts with a few “amens” in agreement. May I add my sentiments to those who pray for his soul and for his comfort and peace as he departs this world. Prayers of comfort and strength for his loved ones.
Carter did so much to weaken our national defense and turn a friend and ally (Iran) into an enemy. They thanked him by holding our hostages until the moment his successor was sworn into office.
His successor was such a classy man that he still had Carter go and greet the hostages when the plane landed.
