I sense Carter was wrongheaded not wrong hearted. I do not agree with his politics or his socialist agenda but I honestly believe that he believed that what he did was right. He did not intentionally act to harm this country; not like some.
I certainly do not wish ill or suffering on him or hos family. He has had a good run and it is unfortunate he will suffer on his way out.
Agreed. And having different take on political issues does not mean one is not a Christian, redeemed by Jesus. He has always openly and enthusiastically been a believer.

If you think he was a socialist then he was wrong hearted. Socialism/communism is responsible for more deaths in history second only to dying of old age.
the end result is that regardless of motive, such a man can still screw over his country big time. whether its done deliberately or with the best intentions.
