Donald Trump’s Plan for Your Taxes Might Be EXACTLY What He Needs to Win the White House
Conservative Tribune ^ | 5AUG2015 | Staff Writer

The liberal media has been going absolutely berserk over Donald Trump’s remarks on immigration. However, they are ignoring his stances on other issues, some of which are very insightful.

In his book, “Time to Get Tough: Making America #1 Again,” published in 2011, Donald Trump laid out a plan to transform America’s tax code, and it is beautiful.

Trump’s code, which he calls the “1-5-10-15 income tax plan,” is a simplistic way to fix our nation’s broken taxation system, without putting the strain on any particular group of people.

Under Trump’s tax plan, those making up to…

$30,000 per year will pay 1 percent in federal income taxes $30,000 to $100,000 will pay 5 percent $100,000 to $1 million will pay 10 percent $1 million or above will pay 15 percent “It’s clear and fair,” wrote Trump on his tax plan. “Best of all, it can be filled out on the back of a postcard and will save Americans big bucks on accountants and massive amounts of time wasted attempting to decipher the tax code.”

Trump also wrote, “Imagine your paycheck was 40 percent higher than it currently is. What could you do with 40 percent more wealth? How many jobs and opportunities for others could you create?”

“The longer you really think about it the madder you will get,” he wrote, “especially when you consider the waste, fraud, and abuse the federal government traffics in as it inflicts its self-defeating policies on hard-working Americans.”

Trump’s rhetoric on taxes continues to this day. On CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Trump stated that he tries to pay as little tax as possible.

“I fight like hell to pay as little as possible, for two reasons. Number one, I am a businessman, and that’s the way you are supposed to do it. And you put the money back in your company and employees and all of that.”

He also added, “But the other reason is that I hate the way our government spends our taxes. I hate the way they waste our money, trillions and trillions of dollars of waste and abuse. And I hate it.” (H/T WND)

Trump’s proposed tax plan is fair and shows real promise at fixing what has arguably become America’s biggest headache. It doesn’t tax the poor to the point of bankruptcy, and it doesn’t punish the rich for being successful.

“Trump needs to run with it...”

Yup! And this is so much better than the Flat Tax and/or VAT crap being floated. And btw, Trump’s bloody comment wouldn’t cause a stir in the UK...everything is ‘Bloody this’ or Bloody that’...

Bloody politicians
Bloody Tele (TV)
Bloody traffic
Bloody wait to see the doctor
Bloody taxes
etc...

Time to get rid of the bloody progressives on both sides of the aisle, as well as the bloody progressives running the executive branch. And while we’re at it, let’s fix the bloody SCOTUS!

And btw Megyn, the bloody inquisitor did have blood coming out of here eyes, nose whatever when she attacked Trump...

They are tax brackets. So you would pay $300 on the first $30000 and 5% on the amount over $30000. And so on.

GG, I was only pointing out one of the flaws. And, again, I don’t understand why we would want to replace one flawed system with another.

It can’t be revenue neutral.

Correct — but if it goes into savings it could even be more than 40% since many people have very little net worth.

That’s what the Leftists were saying about Reagan’s tax plan.

Nothing wrong with it not being revenue neutral. We need to starve the beast.

As long as there is an IRS as currently structured than no tax plan will work, the IRS is a criminal organization and needs to be completely dismantled, this plan as stated still lends itself to vast and massive corruption.

I’m all for building a wall (build it tall and build it long) to deter illegal immigration but just as important is tearing down the wall of government bureaucracies that constrain and viciously punish we the people.

Personally I prefer the Fair Tax but I don’t think it will ever happen. Trump’s plan is better than most. I like to see everybody pay even if its $10.

As long as you have an income tax, you will have to wrestle with “What is income?” and “Who has income?” and “When was the income received?” and so on. What is alimony? What about community property states? What about businesses? What is rental income, and how do you handle depreciation?

But right now, the income tax is designed to buy votes, using a variety of credits and deductions to control people’s lives (but make them think they are getting something). A lot of folks file their taxes in February because they are counting on getting a “refund” of $4000+...and I don’t think they will vote to have THEIR skin put in the game!

Sorry Jack, I believe you’re wrong. Because we (both us Canucks and you Yanks) have gotten so far from the Bible and have twisted it, we don’t ‘...take care of our fellow American(s)’ or Canadians any more.

I drive a school bus and two brothers that I pick up are non-verbal autistic. They have one brother, too young for school at home, also severely non-verbal autistic. Though bright, they are so autistic that none of them will ever be able to look after themselves, let alone work.

Ma and Pa are in their early forties, escapees from Vietnam, with no family here. One works while the other takes care of the boys not at school. When pa gets home, off to work goes ma and pa looks after the three boys. They are a handful! They are both quiet like ninjas, with one boy, often every week, quietly relieving himself or quietly upchucking on the bus. I can’t imagine the work and patients of their parents! Other than autism, the boys are healthy. In another 30 years, ma and pa will be unable to take care of these boys. In 40 years, ma and pa will be dead. What will happen to these boys? If there are no government services to take care of these boys, they’ll be out on the street and soon dead thereafter, either killed in an accident or rolled by a street urchin.

I agree that it should not be the government’s role to do this, but as our society puts materialism above God, there is NO ONE to look after the misfortune, so that role falls to the government. Judeo-Christian caring for our fellow man has mostly ceased to exist in the developed world, so it falls to secular government to do a job it is unsuited to do.

You see the same thing in nursing homes. Seniors are warehoused in nursing homes, many times forgotten by their ‘loving’ children, except perhaps, for Christmas and perhaps a birthday. Those with a little extra money can provide for a better quality nursing home. Those without the resources are in government subsidized nursing homes where the standard of care is poor. My Pastor’s wife works in a nursing home and sometimes shares some of the things that go on. Attendants who don’t have any compassion for their charges, leaving incontinent seniors lying for hours in their own waste, until the attendant has completed her work, etc. Two or three generations ago, these folks would have been cared for at home, by their family. Now, its ‘ship them off to the nursing home’ so we can do whatever we want, unburdened by gramps. Our society has taken ‘youth’ and ‘vanity’ as its gods. Lord help us!

If you aren't changing your liabilities or income, then a simple reduction in your tax expense will increase your net income. If the increased income due to reduced taxes goes into increasing cash assets (savings), and your liabilities remain the same, then you have increased your net worth (wealth).

I hope, for your sake, that you have offspring who love you more than your money! If that is not the case, I hope for your sake, that your desire does not succeed! Existing in a nursing home with minimal care and less than minimal love from family is not the way to spend your last years! They are supposed to be ‘golden’ years.

Normally it is done in brackets. $300 tax on the first $30,000. The next $100 is in the 5% brackets, so $5 or a total of $305 on $30,100.

Nope. How about we move to a consumption tax? The FAIR Tax model (without that silly ‘prebate’ stuff) is the right way to fund government.

Agreed but for the lack of a phase-in strategy that makes sense. I've heard numbers everywhere between ten and thirty percent quoted as the necessary rate of consumption tax. Say it's 20%; day one every purchase costs 20% more (less local sales taxes?). Bread, milk, gas, a car, a house. The hidden costs of taxation going away will eventually reduce costs to manufacturers and distributors and result in lower prices, maybe a wash over time. But the first few weeks/months/year are likely to be painful.

I assume it will work like the current system. The tax on the first $30,000 will always be 1% no matter how high your income goes. Same for the income brackets.
