Legendary New York Giants star Frank Gifford, the pro Football Hall of Famer who transferred smoothly to the announcers booth after retiring, died Sunday morning. He was 84.

Frank was way before my time, though I LOVE football; any game, any team, anytime, anywhere! Pre-Season, Regular Season, College & Pro.
Just curious: were the removed comments hooker-related and/or Kathy Lee related? And will THIS comment now be removed? ;)
He was a legend. I hadn’t heard that he was ill.
That was Jack Tatum. Former OSU All-American playing for the Riders.
Sudden natural death most likely refers to something cardiac related or a brain aneurysm. Not being a football person I had no idea Frank was so old either, Kathie Lee must be 25 years his junior. RIP.
RIP Frank
Strumpet on the sidelines LOL.
I know what you mean. I absolutely love girls, but don’t like these girl sideline reporters for football. They seem so out of place, and based on what they say, I don’t think they are very knowledgeable about football.
Flame away.
Yoi and double yoi!
I live a mile or so from Myron’s grave.
I liked him but not his horrid wife. There will be lots of alcohol flowing, more than normal, at the Today Show.
That’s my take too Dilbert.
I know some of them do a decent job. I just don’t care for it.
Strange too, because I appreciate the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. LOL
That is a fun part of the game activities.
Read Jim Spence’s book.
Cosell was a drunk.
Spence was his boss and caretaker.
He lived one year past my Dad who passed last year!
Hey Daddy! Frank is joining you!
RIP Frank! RIP Daddy!
Y’all reminisce! Thanks for the Memories! ~smooch~!
Frank: Now a few works from Howard Cosell.
Cosell: I happen to be a brilliant, brilliant man.
Dandy Don: Hot digiddy dog, Howard sure has a way with words.
Frank: Now back to the game.
Anyone else remember Merideths' comment about that fan flipping off the camera thinking his team was No. 1?
As I recall, bars would have raffles during MNF games. The winner got to throw a rock or brick through a TV at him during halftime.
Frank played during a time of the NFL when the best players played both sides of the ball. He was great on both.
My outstanding memory of them was the game played in Houston where the camera lingered on a fan who looked bored. And lingered. And lingered. Then the fan made an obscene gesture to the camera, which lingered ... and lingered. LOL
(Here's some more on that.)
SNL’s Kirsten Wiig’s impersonation of Cathy Lee cracks me up every time.
Like it or not, Howard Cosell made MNF the institution it became. the ratings slipped dramatically when he left.
He was outspoken and had liberal views. If that really bugged you, you could have always turn off the TV. By the numbers, not too many of you did.
