A truly outstanding broadcaster who was there during the early days of the NFL. He knew when to be silent and let the action on the field speak instead. RIP

I can still hear his voice.
I enjoyed listening to him and the crews he worked with, generally ex football players who really knew the game and what it was like to actually play it.
Back then they didn’t feel they had to have a some strumpet on the sidelines for that special inside info.
