CLEVELAND, Ohio: A Wall Street Journal report suggests that despite critics opinions predicting GOP frontrunner Donald Trumps poll numbers would fall, two early though unscientific polls predict that may be wrong.
Time Magazine found that Mr. Trump took 47% of nearly 55,000 votes. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) of Florida was in second place with just 10%. The Drudge Reports poll found more than half of nearly 362,000 voters favored Mr. Trump, well above everyone else, the Wall Street Journal noted.
After Frank Luntzs made his opinion on Trumps performance suggesting tonight his act wore thin, conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh stood up for Trump, and instead went after Fox News performance.
I have never seen this kind of public backlash against Fox News personalities since the network launched in 1997, the radio legend stated.
Even Bloomberg Politics went after Fox News host Megyn Kelly for her questioning comparing it to something Rachel Maddow would ask.

MEGYN KELLY STARTS A WAR WITH DONALD TRUMP AT THE DEBATE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=20&v=DP6S3KE2DaI
The two lagging indicators of the debate to watch this week as leading indicators of the climate of this race...
1. Kelly File ratings. Expect a pop on Monday as people tune in to see how she reacts. But watch the trend line for the week. Expect a fall off to Tuesday. A n ongoing trend downward through the week will show if this has hurt her.
2. The three day rolling poll average. Many more pollsters will track the GOP this week since its news. Watch for independants and conservatives. Also be wary to look for registered and likely voters. I have no doubt some companies will go with general opinion, loaded questions, and offset away from the east coast and south. Learn to read the details, and go beyond the headlines
Now that we've seen her play this game with Trump, we can rest assured she gets just as slimy with all of her interviews...She lost all credibility with me...I'll never watch her on tv again...
>>>I know this sounds unrealistic in the extreme,
I Have to disagree, I don’t think it sounds unrealistic.
I’m one of the people who would not vote Democrat, but that has only been since they kept Bill Clinton in office. Until then I would vote for whoever I thought would do a better job. When the entire Democrat party voted to keep Clinton in office, after he was a proven liar, lied to a congressional inquiry while under oath, and used his office to get women in the sack, I promised myself I would never, ever vote for another Democrat. If they are low enough to keep a proven criminal in office I want nothing to do with the Democratic party.
In the last 2014 elections I voted for every Independent I could find, except governor, I definitely did not want Wendy Davis in there and Abbott looked a lot better anyway.
NO wait, I think I did vote for a couple of Republicans for senate and house...
Anyway I think a lot of people will cross over that you would never expect, simply because they are all sick of the status quo. And I think that because of the publicity Trump is generating a lot more people are starting to listen, who normally would have little or no interest in the election this early.
Out all that together and I think a 3rd party run is not an impossible proposition.
Tens of thousands of FB posts slamming their egregious behavior would tend to support this. As for myself, I pledge to never consume any media content from any of Rupert Murdoch's properties ever again.
I predict their audience numbers will fall without any corresponding increase for their competitors, as millions more make the smart decision to 'cut the cord' altogether.
Put this post in a mayonnaise jar under Funk and Wagnall's porch. We'll revisit it in about a year.
Wants to build a fence and send out the illegals...
Wants to shut down the unfair European trade agreement...
Wants to curtail immigration until we can get it balanced out to favor America and americans...
Wants to shut down Obamacare and replace it with affordable insurance...
Pro 2nd Amendment...
Wants to cut corporate taxes to spur on investment...
Wants to put tarrifs on China to bring back corporations to the U.S.
Wants to rebuild the military...
Wants to protect Social Security...
Wants to take care, immediately, of all the wounded veterans...
These are just a few and he's just getting started...They may not be conservative positions to some of you but they are pro-America...
So I don't care if they are conservative positions or not...Besides, there are 16 Conservatives running for President...But there is only one (or 2) who are pro-America...I'll stick with those...
That is about where I'm at. However, I feel Trump's participation in the primaries is critical for at least two reasons: (1) expose & decimate RINOs (2) Run point & draw fire on conservatives issues that RINOs want to play it safe on, do not want to discuss or elaborate upon. With Trump drawing fire, even if he gets wounded, Cruz can complete the mission. Trump can breach the RINO castle wall and Cruz can take the castle and raise the conservative flag. I look at Cruz & Trump as a good cop bad cop duo that is out to take down the GOP establishment RINOs.
Slowly, ever so slowly, GOP leadership may becoming aware that their taken for granted, ridiculed conservative voters are no longer sheep with nowhere else to go.We have finally become Conservatives first and Republicans only when it is earned and deserved.
“Trump cares about Trump and is milking the dumb masses for all it’s worth.”
Trump is a Nationalist, a Patriot and loves our Country. It is why he is running for President and putting up with the slings and arrows coming his way on a daily basis from the likes of you and your ilk.
Your unreasonable hatred of Donald Trump blinds you to the honesty and greatness of this man. No one was excited about the primary process until Trump joined the race. Now everyone is excited and 24 million people watched this first Republican debate, primarily because they wanted to see and hear The Donald. God bless Donald Trump for reinvigorating us all and giving us some hope once again in the political process.
Well said.
( Huge applause follows )
Strong language there chief.
We haven't had any primaries yet so that kind of language is a little early. Thankfully, some of the primaries are being moved up and put on the same date as before as many of the states never got a chance to vote on who they liked as Iowa and New Hampshire served to knock some of the candidates out early. The rest of the country was left with people like Dole, McCain & Romney.
That being said, I am concerned with Cruz. He appears to be a very capable person but I'm not sure he can connect with the average voter as he comes across like a mean father enforcing the rules. I haven't seen any warmth out of that guy yet.
parksstp, your posts indicate that your emotional involvement is at least equal to those "dumb masses," who are "too lazy to do their homework and back the real conservative candidates in this race."
Do you realize that today is Monday, August 9, 2015, and that the first primary won't be held until Monday, February 1, 2016 in Iowa? That's almost six months from now.
Unless you're clairvoyant or a political novice, you should know that today's poll standings are not set in stone.
Right now, the GOP race is in its infancy. Voters are just beginning to choose favorite's "to root for," and just starting to rule out others, but everything is subject to change. World and national events can't be predicted and neither can missteps or illness.
What useful purpose is achieved when you allow yourself to get so upset that you waste your time and energy lecturing supporters of candidates who are your candidate's rivals? Name calling rarely wins a convert.
My candidate is also Senator Cruz, (I've donated to his campaign) but I am also rooting for Mr. Trump!
I am in full agreement with flaglady47's post, and I will add a little more.
Sure Mr. Trump has a *yuge* ego and I agree that he is thin-skinned when it comes to personal attacks, half truth's or outright lies about him or his $10 Billion business empire. What sane, world renowned, eminently successful person wouldn't react with smash-mouth fire? Bravo! Mr Trump.
I know this for certain: Mr. Trump loves our country and is willing to spend part of his fortune to run a completely self-funded campaign for the Republican nomination. I also "think" that if he's shunned, and not treated fairly, that the RNC/GOP's greatest fear just might come true.
Shame on the RNC and GOP for not embracing his candidacy and for allowing "leaks to MSM" inferring that Mr. Trump just might be prohibited from participating in the remaining debates, unless he signs that pledge! The arrogance of those two organizations is stunning. What they are really saying is that neither organization trusts us voters! They're both admitting that Mr Trump stands a good chance of winning the nomination!
Thank you for the ping, beautiful flaglady47.
