The first GOP primary debate of the year, hosted by Fox News and moderated by three of their best, kicked off in headline-grabbing style when the moderator team backed candidate Donald Trump into a corner about the possibility of running on a third-party ticket.
But the attacks didnt stop there. Out of the six questions that Trump was asked, most of them were nothing more than thinly veiled attacks in what conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh suggested was a targeted effort by the GOP establishment to slam the brakes on Trumps momentum.
While Limbaugh had reported that there was a strong possibility that big-time Republican donors had ordered to take out Donald Trump, he and most others assumed the attackers would be Trumps fellow candidates.
But when the debate wrapped up, he explained that Fox News was the real hit man.

All this Trump talk about being so abused and how “the powerful” are trying to take him out, is very remindful of the Herman Cain campaign’s supporters.
To prove he’s not just paper-mache, he should take on each of his competitors the way he did the easy target of an uppity blonde.
Clyde Barnum anyone?
As long as Trump can get free publicity by playing to the uncouth horde, he is happy to do so. Watch him when he has to start pouring his money out like Niagara Falls, the whole narrative will be changed and Mr. Trump might suddenly find he needs to re-concentrate on his real business.
Trump does not need to give Cruella Kelly any more limelight than she has already gotten.
Asked by Jake Tapper of CNN this morning if he was referring to Kelly’s period when he made the blood comment Donald Trump answered “of course not who talks like that?”
That’s all he need to say about it. Kelly’s Facebook page looks like a grenade went off. Thousands of negative posts. Not one supportive post.
Where is all the post debate polling info? All quiest 3 days later. Probably because Trump is surging.
Days before the debate, the FoxNews mods said they had a plan for ‘taking care of Trump’ — if he didn’t follow the rules, such as time limits.
FoxNews made no secret that they were out to get Trump.
The very first question in both session had to do with Trump.
megyn wasn’t the only one who took Trump on. She was the loudest and had the most time, but Bret threw the first punch right out of the gate for the greatest impact.
It was a fair question, but it was aimed at Trump and that’s what I object to... the ‘why’ of it all. I don’t even mind their trying to take him out.. but it was a planned coup, aimed at ONE person, and it ruined their ‘fair and balanced’ name.
Brit Hume (and megyn) was the one who made fun of Newt when he ran against obams. I expect cnn and the rest to do all this, but did not think Fox would join the left.
And after all that, Trump has to learn how to insult without sounding like a juvenile. He has the will to take anyone on.. but he goes into the personal attacks. As a candidate, do it with more style! There are ways to silence the opponent and win the argument. Personal words like ‘fat’, ‘ugly’, are not needed. A person can’t help being ugly.. but he CAN help being ‘stupid’.
It is the job of the candidates to vet each other. It is the job of the moderators to provide a neutral forum for them to do so.
If you want to engage the candidates during the debates, then get on the stage and run for President yourselves.
Otherwise, just facilitate the discussion between the candidates and stay out of the conversation. You haven't earned the right to participate in the discussion, especially.from the safety of behind the desk.

First chuckle of the morning!
The thing about Trump that keeps nagging me is that if he doesn’t win the nomination, he will become a “useful idiot” for the other side. He’s made up his mind that he’s running. The libs could run with Charles Manson and still win.
Yeah, I thought that too. Maybe, the GOPe left him out of the plan. I am sure they left Cruz and Carson out, too, but these two gentlemen were too smart to ever confront the leader like Paul did.
I think there are only a couple of candidates that he would run third party against. Jeb is one. And frankly, if Jeb or Christy did win, I would vote for Trump.
He might have a great shot of winning 3rd party if the election comes down to Bush, Clinton. A lot of people don’t want to see the dynasty crap again.
High Paid Assassin.
Not as ethical as a high paid hooker in my books.
Let’s face it 4 years of Trump would be like another Obama administration - a thin skinned petulant child whom would wage a enemies list and a war on anyone whom dare to ask him a difficult question. trump would also favor whomever sought to benefit his bid for President - Cronisym and Corruption would be more rampant. There are people whom are saying that Meghan is like Hitler. Come now Trump is someone more like Hitler. He does not get his way he will throw a temper tantrum. Sure trump has criticized the DC establishment, but he is not free of criticism. IT IS ODD SUDDENLY A GOOD PORTION OF FR HAS WARM AND FUZZY FEELING BECAUSE TRUMP HAS RUFFLED SOME FEATHERS IN DC. But if Trump gets his feathers rumpled so many are coming to his defense.
Per Clare Booth Luce, “Don’t complain, don’t explain”. Trump does neither - he only counter punches when he is attacked which he he did with Kelly and all the other nimrods he deals with on a daily basis.
I agree about Greta and Hannity. Greta in fact had a pretty positive show about him on Friday.
Fox had two objectives here. The first make money which was obviously accompliahsed i.e. attract a large viewership. The second was to move the debate away from Immigration and of course collateral that was to take out Donald who is its mouthpiece. The results on that are out yet but the longer Donald makes this about him, the more the issue will fade.
In a GOP “debate” one has to wonder why no one asked about Hitlery and her problems as to whether they viewed them as real or not real issues. The foundation, e mails, he economic policy (does she have one) all of that not mentioned.
Bingo
Rove is a one hit wonder but that hasn’t sunk in quite yet at Fox.
Also, they refuse, amazingly enough, to believe NOONE wants another BUSH for President!
Or, it is quite possible they don’t care as long as they are being invited to the parties, where they can eat lavish meals, drink $300 bottles of wine, and tell each other how smart and important they are?
Good point.
