I have tried to give a great deal of latitude to Donald Trump in his run for the Presidency.
He is not a professional politician and is known for being a blunt talker. He connects with so much of the anger in the Republican base and is not afraid to be outspoken on a lot of issues. But there are even lines blunt talkers and unprofessional politicians should not cross.
Decency is one of those lines.
As much as I do personally like Donald Trump, his comment about Megyn Kelly on CNN is a bridge too far for me.
In a CNN interview, Mr. Trump said of Megyn Kelly, You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever.
It was not the blood coming out of her eyes part that was the problem.
[SNIP]
I think that is true. And Ive been very sympathetic to Donald Trump because so many of the people who have led the party astray refuse to even treat him as a legitimate candidate.
But I also think that while Mr. Trump resonates with a lot of people with his bluntness, including me to a degree, there are just real lines of decency a person running for President should not cross.
His comment was inappropriate. It is unfortunate to have to disinvite him. But I just dont want someone on stage who gets a hostile question from a lady and his first inclination is to imply it was hormonal. It just was wrong.
I have invited Megyn Kelly to attend in Donald Trumps place tomorrow night.

Trump is a candidate now, not a nominee.
He is doing us a world of good as a candidate.
Specifically by attacking the media that has destroyed our political process.
This was an appropriate response to a media mouthpiece’s disgusting behavior.
You’re disarming us against our greatest enemy.
That ok I and millions of other wont line up behind any Rino this election. Cruz or Trump or they can have the election as the country as it stands now is already lost.

Re Megyn Kelly quote: “you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever” (NOSE). Just got on w/thought
Oh gosh, some truly positive & decent trait cannot be revealed about Trump without someone *who has the agenda to get him out of the race* twisting it into some ‘’ulterior motive’ & ‘’hidden agenda’’.
That is sick. You should be ashamed, but of course, you’re not because you’re too self righteous.
Just wow.

Red State’s publisher.
Well the only blood that he could see would be coming out of her face. I’m just sayin
One would never guess that Obama and the hard left have been in charge the past few years.
ALL humans behave differently when in a small group or one-to-one or in front of a large crowd.
I have watched Trump for over 35 years and he doesn't seem to have the capacity to fake it.
We all know folks like that.
You are letting your fear of a Trump victory cloud your vision.
I am a Cruz supporter first and foremost. But the American people are speaking loudly about their desire for an anti-establishment candidate...and Trump seems to be that guy.
That's why every time he says something that would destroy any other candidate his support just gets stronger.
It's not about Trump, it's about fed up Americans.
I’m way beyond “fed up” but Trump is not someone I want representing me.
Erick Erickson has made a major blunder which will hurt him and “Red State” badly!!! It is really a shame the Mr. Erickson has little exposure or knowledge to the history of “Tough, Confrontational & Brutal” Anerica political give & take!!! Whether you side with Kelly or Erickson...matters little at this early stage of the quest for POTUS in Novmber, 2016.
Our history is full of & over the line remarks & accusations” from all stripes and types of politicians and media types!!! Erickson, shutting down Donald Trump, shuts down the dialogue (as a Hitler or Obama would do)...that allows the American voters the opportunity to judge both Trump & Kelly objectively!!! Denying Donald Trump a means of forum...while allowing Kelly the freedom to put her points forward is not, by far the American way.
Erick Erickson has lost his way among Conservatives, and will be denied the access key to being an effective player and partaker in the important dialogue of politics....that is yet to come!!! Sad and, certainly not smart!!! sham on Mr. Erickson, short sighted as he is!!!
I’m very disappointed in Erickson. He has been a Conservative stalwart in Georgia politics, exposing the state GOPe machine’s candidates and tactics and helping to elect some excellent and truly Conservative office holders. I don’t agree with Erick on everything, but on most things, and I don’t doubt his thoughtfulness or sincerity. In the case of today’s RedState Gathering, I do not approve of Erick’s disinvitation of Trump. But far worse is Erickson’s fit-of-pique invitation to Megyn Kelly to speak in Trump’s place. Kelly’s offense was inserting herself into the debate as if she was one of the actual candidates and not just a moderator, and now Erick Erickson is compounding that offense. It is a bad decision.
The GOPe got to Erickson. I wonder what they offered him? He strikes me as one who’d sell out pretty cheaply.
This is all a tempest in a tea pot...and will change nothing.
Her black funeral dress...nice touch.
I don’t know where you believe that I have misrepresented.
He's a lot of things, but inauthentic, he isn't.
Oh, this is just great! Let’s give Donald a reason to run 3rd party, ok.
