Erick Erickson Disinvites Trump From Red State Gathering Over Megyn Kelly Insults
The Daily Caller ^ | Saturday, August 8, 2015 | Kerry Picket

Posted on 08/07/2015 10:46:29 PM PDT by kristinn

Red State’s Erick Erickson dis-invited GOP presidential candidate and businessman Donald Trump after he insulted Fox News anchor and Thursday night’s debate moderator Megyn Kelly during a CNN interview Friday night.

I have rescinded my invitation to Mr.Trump. While I have tried to give him great latitude, his remark about Megyn Kelly was a bridge too far — Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) August 8, 2015

“Well I just don’t respect her as a journalist. I have no respect for her. I think she’s highly overrated. But when I came out there what was I doing I’m not getting paid for this. I go out there. And you know they start saying lift up. And you know I didn’t know there would be 24 million people I figured but I knew it was going to be a big crowd because I get big crowds I get ratings they call me the ratings machine so I have you know she she gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions,” Trump said to CNN’s Don Lemon.

He went further saying, “And you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes blood coming out of her — whatever. She was in my opinion — she was off-base. And by the way, not in my opinion, in the opinion of hundreds of thousands of people on Twitter because it has been a brutal day. In one way a great day for Fox. in another day in the Twitter sphere it’s been very bad because she’s been very badly criticized. She’s a lightweight. I couldn’t care less about her.”

They closed down comments on the original ‘disinvite’ thread at RedState, and they deleted comment after comment.

Apparently, RedState is not a conservative free speech zone.

Trump's locution is not as polished as your typical professional politicians. he hasn't spent years perfecting his sound bites. Eloquent speech is simply not his gift. With that in mind, it's not 100% obvious to me that he was, in fact, implying that Megyn was menstruating. It sounds to me like he was saying "she was out for my blood".

Yes, it's not 100% obvious to me either.

Amen. I’m not 100% for Trump, although at this point he’s not someone I wouldn’t vote for either such as ¡JEB! or Linda Graham....but it is nice to see someone who doesn’t care about offending the media.

The irony here is that the media will call Trump thin skinned, but look how they all snap to attention when one of their own is attacked, and go into a chorus of “ohhhhhhh, he’s blaming the media”. Because in the Media’s eyes, the media is NEVER to blame.

Big Mistake, but Fox anointed her the winner of the afternoon debate and they are really pushing her.

It’s probably rational for her not to anger them, but it isn’t good for her to appear dishonest either.

Hey, as the proprietor says, it's his microphone.
And his microphone says "get Trump out of the GOP primary."

So, instead of Inviting Trump so can ask him about the things they accuse him of, they disinvite him and Invite the supposed Victim?

Is Erik running a Kangaroo Court now?

I’m done with Beck also. Just cancelled my BlazeTV last week. BTW...I’m pretty sure I’ve heard Beck use a similar phrase describing blood coming from his eyes, during one of his pissed off moments. Sure, it is probably out here in the ethos for someone to find.

This is war, and the lines are being drawn. Pick your side, because this is the big one.

One tweet.

I didn't like it either.

With his explanation, I think she backs off.

Two bad votes from Cruz did not make me stop supporting him. One tweet (far less damaging) is not going to make me start wishing bad for Carly. She is the best candidate besides Cruz at presenting the war between progs and conservatives, she is a delight to watch, if you watch her, she's always spot on and leaves you cheering.

Enough of this anti- Carly nonsense, we need her on the BIG Ten stage, she will kill it, and all conservatives will cheer when she does.

I'm not for her being the nominee, she's way down the list, but let's stop this nonsense of taking out a great soldier who speaks well for what we believe.

Exactly. This is about Erick Erickson trying desperately to make a name foe Erick Erickson. Scum move.

The Los Angeles Times noted that Fiorina had conservative positions on certain social issues. She personally opposed abortion, except in cases of rape, incest, or endangerment of the mother’s life.[149]

Source: Wikipedia

Q: You oppose abortion, except in the case of rape and incest. Barbara Boxer has made choice a big issue in prior elections. And we’ve looked at the polls. Most Californians agree with her.

A: But you know, most Californians disagree with Barbara Boxer’s extreme views. She believes in taxpayer funding for partial birth abortions. Most Californians don’t agree with that. And yes, there are Californians who disagree with me on the sanctity of life. But the vast majority of Californians also say that the issue in this election is jobs, and the issue in this election is out-of-control government spending, out-of-control debt, out-of- control regulations and out-of-control taxation.

I reminded people here the other day that Erik trashed Sarah Palin...He was against Trump from the getgo

I make a wager that Erikson will never again guest host RUSH show.

I am almost certain he filled in for Rush in the last couple weeks, if I am right, he never hosts again.

Not exactly a trait one may be looking for in a leader of America.

Losing his train of thought once out of all the times he speaks wouldn't be a big deal. Didn't Rick Perry famously go blank?

Now if you want to talk about Trump and illegal alien amnesty and some other things then I would agree that Trump isn't my first choice.

But the media and the RINOs aren't criticizing Trump from the right. They are attacking him from the left and they are doing it with lies.

I'm no Trump supporter, but I'm so sick of that.

Same here. I got a RedState account a year or 2 ago. I had to find my password about a month or two ago. I’d totally forgotten it. At that time, my first post was positive toward Trump and the moderator immediately threatened to ban me. This morning, the mod probably has a tired delete finger from all the deletions and bannings.

It’s Erickson’s site, so he can make it a “Love Erick” zone if he wants, but at least here on Free Republic, within the world of small government conservatism, disagreement with Jim Robinson happens all the time.

Or close enough ...

We are not "impartial". That is the point. We support candidates that WE think would be good presidential material. Take it or leave it.

RedState is dug in on the Trump candidacy, it is against it.
