RNC: Knock off the name calling
WMUR.com ^ | 07/26/2015 | Brian Stelter CNN

(CNN) —The Republican National Committee has a message for candidates like Donald Trump: No more name-calling.

That's what the party's chief strategist and communications director Sean Spicer said on CNN's "Reliable Sources" on Sunday.

"I understand it's going to be the nature of any primary for folks to discuss the differences between themselves on policy issues, and I think that's fine," Spicer said. "The name calling, however, needs to stop."

Spicer added: "We have got to remember what Ronald Reagan taught us, his 11th commandment, 'Thou shall not speak ill of another Republican.'"

Spicer didn't point his comments directly at Trump or any other candidate, but it's Trump who has been receiving the most attention for insulting his rivals in recent weeks.

It was OK when McStain and the RINO’s were calling names. What a bunch of hypocrites.

In any case, I don’t think today’s Republican Party can hold a candle to Reagan if their lives depended on it, and, regardless, the Republicans back then certainly didn’t mind using EVERY NAME IN THE BOOK to try to stop Reagan in his 1980 run.

Very true, and the GOP has deteriorated even further since 1980. Were Reagan trying to run for President today, he and his supporters would be derided just as Cruz is today.

The RNC and its echos see a one way street. They can call others names. But others can’t respond in kind.

I’m all against ad hominem and favor discussing issues. But RNC and its echos have the opposite track record.

We need a choice, not an echo.
(Hope that doesn’t date me.)

If anything, Reagan was the real RINO, the Rockefeller Republicans were firmly ensconced in the leadership party, They only tolerated Reagan once they saw that he could defeat Carter, but once he left, and Bush I took his place, it was right back to “Business as Usual.”

The RNSC spent money, part of it mine, in the Mississippi Republican primary, to call Chris McDaniel and his supporters, of which I am one, racist, bigots, klansmen and those who wanted to starve poor people. Who are they to condemn name calling? Rino &@$!@%<$, no more money to the RNC, RNSC, RNCC or the Republican party of Mississippi as long as Joe Nosef is Chairman.

Fox news had people calling Trump “A spectacle” today and “He won’t be the nominee.”

People like Spicer always bring up this thing about Reagan said this. Truth is Reagan never said it.

When you have a crowded field of 16 people vying for the nomination there is going to be a lot of badmouthing, etc., it a fact of political life.

The GOPe Jackass’ in D.C. can pound sand and eat dirt.

I’m old enough to remember the goings-on at the 1980 Republican National Convention in Detroit; being a political junkie even back then, I watched it cover-to-cover on TV. The Rockefeller Republicans tried to shove Gerald Ford onto the VP slot as a “co-president”, with Kissinger as SOS, but Reagan rejected it and stood his ground. That was when they compromised on GHW Bush. It was also the last time that a VP slot was contested. Wouldn’t it have been great if the runner-up in that contest had won? It was none other than Jesse Helms! But the GOP Powers-that-be would never have let it happen.

So the RNC/GOPe rushed out to throw mud, got out-mudded, and now they’re saying not to throw mud?
Lol.

It’s too the point where it wouldn’t surprise me if the RNC/GOPe become the 3rd party.

All of you aligned with the RNC are frauds. You have not done your jobs correctly, you have disenfranchised us and left us at the mercy of those who would literally kill us. And, you don't want us to call you names? How would you like for me to describe you? Does the word disingenuous come to mind? How about traitorous? Do you think of Chameleons when you look in the mirror? How about slave driver? Do you think we are all stupid out here?

I know for a FACT that high level Democrat AND Republican politicians go down in the Fall to Mexico and hunt deer AND birds together with guns that are stored down there just for their use when the general population doesn't have a prayer of owning a gun legally. How can you have OUR interests in mind when you are all living like kings and setting us at each others' throats? Sooner or later God is going to hear our cries for relief and when he comes for you, you will have absolutely no place to hide.

Remember when Rick Perry called us "heartless"?

The RNC and their cronies can stuff it.

Saw that. Trump hit George Will for not disclosing his wife works for the Walker campaign. He failed to do so again while bringing up past positions. Missed the mark with Trump fans but will get laied for talking tough.

They're going to go the way of the Whigs if they keep it up.
