Sunday on Meet the Press, Republican presidential candidate Sen. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)96% said Donald Trumps comments about Mexico sending its criminals to the Untied States were bold and brash, but put a needed focus on the many Republicans who support the Chamber of Commerce and Wall Streets cheap labor immigration push. I am a passionate advocate for legal immigrants, Cruz said. I am the son of an immigrant who came legally from Cuba and Ill tell you, from the day I started campaigning I traveled the state of Texas talking about how all of us, we are the children of those who risks everything for freedom, that immigrant experience of all of us is what makes us Americans, because we value in our DNA liberty and opportunity above all else. Now when it comes to Donald Trump, I like Donald Trump. hes bold, hes brash.

Trump is lying when he said “I’m a conservative Republican”.
He isn’t, and he never has been.
I don’t see what is so hard to understand about that.
What he said about illegal aliens is true, but I have no way to be sure that he actually intends to do anything about it, but I also notice that he did not go into why this invasion is being made to happen, and the why is important.
Anyone can say anything they want about anything they want, and then do nothing at all.
Does it really matter what king of republican Trump is?
If Trump has the courage to open the can of worms known as 30+ million illegals in US, then he has done his job, which no other republican had the courage to tackle since Reagan.
Since the professional politicians, conservative, mildly conservative or RINO’s have’nt done didly squat about the illegal invaders, may be a businessman not under the command and control of rich sugar daddy’s needing cheap labor, just might actually tackle the problem.
Yes, it does matter, because he clearly is not what he said he is, and he never has been what he said he is.
And maybe a businessman who lied about his political leanings won’t tackle the problem, because he brought it up to draw attention to himself, as he is known to do with any number of things, and isn’t really serious about it.
If a man is willing to lie about who he is, then a man is willing to lie about what he does and what he will do.
Answer this...why would Trump give up a very popular TV show?
Remember he had to drop out if he declared as a candidate.
Why would he risk Losing business partnerships by railing against illegals? Every one and their uncle knows that
the rich business owners want unlimited supply of cheap labor
streaming across the Rio Grande?
Why do you think Walker was for path to legalization? Why
was Rubio part of gang of 8? Why Cruz wants to increase
H1-B visa’s five fold? Jeb Bush has another reason, his wife
is Mexican so he wants to give the illegals “love”. Why is
Carson silent on this issue?
Let’s be honest, all these candidates are under the command
and control of their rich donor sugar daddy’s. They have no
choice! It is impossible to continue campaigning without
those mega million donations.
In their hearts, they wish to be law abiding. That is why
Cruz came out in support of Trump’s anti-illegal statements.
My answer to why Trump would give up or risk those things is for power and pride.
Now, it is very possible that my answer to your questions is wrong. I don’t have the ability to truly know what is inside people.
What I do know is that Trump is not a conservative republican as he said. That was not a truthful statement on his part.
What I would like to believe is that he is a liberal that is outraged by the illegal immigration situation.
I would like to believe that there are still liberals who love America and her citizens and don’t necessarily buy into the globalist agenda, and no borders, and all that crapola.
If Trump is saying these things about immigration because this is what he believes, then I respect him for that, but at the same time, his telling me that he is a conservative republican is not going to earn my trust. I’m not a fool.
The other people you mentioned, I believe do believe in the globalist agenda, no borders, one world government type stuff, and I have no use for them, and I will vote for none of them, ever, for any reason, and I’m already disgusted with myself for having voted Rubio into the senate ;/
As far as Cruz goes, I believe he is an honest man who loves his country and her citizens, and he is also capable of being wrong on some things, but not because he is dishonest or lying.
On TPA for instance. To give that power to Obama and minimal oversight of that power to the GOP...stupid. I don’t think that Cruz understands just how much mistrust in government there is, and he stepped in it on that one, and it obviously cost him support.
However, despite my not agreeing with him there, I still believe that he is an honest man, and a conservative, and I still do support him and intend to vote for him.
I have also said that I believe that Trump is performing a useful task in exposing pro amnesty GOP candidates, though hopefully people would be aware of those candidates’ positions already.
What I have to say to Trump is this. Do not lie to me. Don’t think you can get away with it. You have already lied to me once telling me that you are a conservative republican. Perhaps I will let that slide, I can choose to do that, but if you think that you can fool me in selling yourself to me, think again.
If you want consideration from me, you had best tell the truth all of the time.
There are fiscal conservatives.
There are social conservatives.
There are military conservatives.
There are law and order conservatives.
In which category Trump is not conservative?
Who is your perfect conservative?
That guy who wants to increase H1-B visa’s five fold?
Or that guy who was for a path to legal status before he is against it?
And never ever forget,
Our much admired Ronald Reagan was once a democrat,
and a union official.
And he had 2 marriages. So what????
People change!
Even I was a liberal democrat in 1960’s.
When I reached age 30, I got smart and turned republican.
Trump knows the GOPe will NEVER back him and he has wisely decided to go "Tea Party" on illegal immigration. I look for him to go after dissatisfied middle/working class D's, I's and R's on economic/trade issues next.
If you not taking Trump seriously you are not paying attention.
Yes he does, he gets a big plus from me for that. He is has moved up a notch or two, lol.
All of them?
Like I said, he has never been conservative, ever. He has never done a single thing for the conservative movement or agenda, he has not aided the election of any conservative candidate, he does not behave as a conservative behaves, he simply is not a conservative.
Anyone who says Trump is a conservative is fooling themselves as much is Trump is attempting to fool people by saying that he’s a conservative.
You are what you do, not what you say. Talk is cheap, in fact, it’s worth nothing.
And there is no perfect conservative that I can think of, and that is a silly question anyway, because not only is trump not a perfect conservative, he isn’t any kind of conservative.
And yes, I know Reagan used to be a democrat, and that’s fine. If trump used to be a democrat and has recently changed, then he should say that and tell us why and what changed his mind.
And I am for Cruz because I believe that he is honest, not because I think he is right on everything, because he isn’t.
I am not so rabidly for Cruz that i will not admit his obvious faults, but you don’t seem willing to admit Trump’s obvious faults.
This man has be ABSENT from all things conservatives for his entire life, and now, after a speech in which he criticized illegal immigration, he is somehow the conservative savior. Should he wear a cape and some spandex with a big T on his chest?
Give me a break, man.
The only agenda I am looking for in 2016 candidates:
1. Close the borders
2. Balance the budgets.
1. Why close borders? The illegals have reduced wage levels of middle class jobs. I hire a contractor to paint my house, and who shows up? 4 Hispanics who can’t speak English. How did they get into the country without ability to speak English? How did that murderer in San Francisco get in 5 times?
Hard working Tax payers are carrying huge burden to support education, healthcare, prisons, law enforcement, food stamps, maternity care etc for illegals.
Only Trump has the kahuna’s to fix this problem. None of the professional politicians have solved this problem for 5 decades. They are in pockets of their rich donor sugar daddy’s who love this cheap labor. Only Cruz has backed Trump.
2. Only a businessman or a governor with proven records to reduce spending will balance the federal budgets. A business must balance budgets to survive. Trump, Walker & Jindal may do it, forget the rest.
Forget all this hypothetical’s and jibberish about who is the theoretical conservative and who is not. Without an actual record, it is all talk & hot air.
“Only a businessman or a governor with proven records to reduce spending will balance the federal budgets.”
Neither one of these will.
Congress is responsible for budgets, and they don’t even do those anymore, because our government is completely corrupt.
Good luck, America, you are really going to need it. We have become a country of fools.
You are so illogical....Trump, Walker and Jindal have ALREADY balanced budgets. Others just give speeches about it. Believe in reality, not hot air.
You just made the most important point in election of 2016. Sadly many have closed their minds or fallen in blind love.
Thanks...the Demographic effect of unlimited immigration means the end to our 2-party system. To Democrats it’s a DREAM COME TRUE. To Republican money-men, it’s also a dream come true - a VIRTUALLY UNLIMITED labor supply.
No, I am not illogical.
How are Trump, Walker and Jindal going to balance the federal budget when A) congress writes the budget, and b) congress is no longer writing budgets, but operating the government on continuing resolutions?
How does anyone balance the budget of an utterly corrupt government?
Are you aware that president can veto ANY budget which is not balanced? Congress does not get to write any law, including spending laws all by themselves. Every bill passed by congress must have the presidents signature for it to become law.
You keep making illogical comments.
It is true that spending bills INITIATE in the House of Reps...but they must pass through the President’s desk to have a chance to become a law.
OK, sure, he can shut down the government arguing with his own party, that is, assuming the GOP retains control of congress considering that they have done absolutely nothing to warrant such.
No, he does not have to shut down anything. Democrat Harry did not present a senate budget for 4 years. It did not shutdown the government. Please quit before you make more illogical arguments.
Again the main point is the President has a lot of power with the veto threat and can push the congress to bend his way, if he/she really wants to and has the courage to do so.
The only one of us making an illogical argument is the one saying that the next president is going to balance the federal budget.
So you quit.
And I am quite sure that if Trump is elected president that the GOP and the democrats will work with him anyway they can because they like him so much, right?
Right.
Keep on dreamin’.
