Never has it been more evident that America needs a strong Constitutional conservative in the White House to help negate the last two terms of a radical left-wing President, the last six years of Republicans who bow down to Obama’s every whim, and now against a Supreme Court engaged in judicial tyranny.
Last week was a devastating blow for conservatives, but worse, it was a devastating blow to the Constitution, our Founding Fathers, and America in general.
Presidential candidate, Ted Cruz, put it in no uncertain terms – the Supreme Court rulings on Obamacare and same-sex marriage were “some of the darkest 24 hours in our nation’s history.”

Continuing his critique of the Supreme Court’s recent decisions on Obamacare and same-sex marriage, Sen. Ted Cruz said Friday that the rulings mark “some of the darkest 24 hours in our nations history.”
Cruz made the comments in an interview on Sean Hannity’s radio show Friday afternoon.
“Today is some of the darkest 24 hours in our nation’s history,” Cruz said.
“I couldn’t say it more eloquently,” Hannity responded.
“Yesterday and today were both naked and shameless judicial activism,” Cruz said. “Neither decision — the decision yesterday rewriting Obamacare for the second time. Six justices joined the Obama administration. You now have President Obama, Kathleen Sebelius and six justices responsible for forcing this failed disaster of a law on millions of Americans, and simply rewriting the law in a way that is fundamentally contrary to their judicial oaths.”
“And then today, this radical decision purporting to strike down the marriage laws of every state. It has no connection to the United States Constitution. They are simply making it up,” Cruz said. “It is lawless, and in doing so, they have undermined the fundamentally legitimacy of the United States Supreme Court.”
Anybody who knows Cruz knows he isn’t your typical RINO Republican, all talk and no action. After the Obamacare ruling was handed down, Cruz took to the chamber floor and blasted the “rogue justices” of the Supreme Court for upholding the policies of a “lawless” administration, adding that they too, had become “lawless.”
After declaring that justices who engage in activism should “resign and run for office,” Cruz is offering up a plan to make it happen – judicial elections.
In a column for the National Review, Cruz said “enough is enough.”
Judicial retention elections have worked in states across America; they will work for America. In order to provide the people themselves with a constitutional remedy to the problem of judicial activism and the means for throwing off judicial tyrants, I am proposing an amendment to the United States Constitution that would subject the justices of the Supreme Court to periodic judicial-retention elections. Every justice, beginning with the second national election after his or her appointment, will answer to the American people and the states in a retention election every eight years. Those justices deemed unfit for retention by both a majority of the American people as a whole and by majorities of the electorates in at least half of the 50 states will be removed from office and disqualified from future service on the Court.
Cruz warned that if Congress is unwilling to correct this lawlessness, “the movement from the people for an Article V Convention of the States — to propose the amendments directly — will grow stronger and stronger.”

If enough states act, a convention would be one means for reformers to rein in the reach of the federal government. Because the U.S. Constitution provides a means to hold one, doing so could help return the country to its roots of limited federal powers.
It’s clear from this past week that the country needs a strong conservative as President – to fight back against an out-of-control government ushered in under Obama.
Is Cruz that man? He’s sure acting like it.

Ya, well, it has been stated that there is a fourth branch of the government - the states. It is in the constitution. The fourth branch can get together to do what is necessary, amendment, constitution convention, or start with the declaration of independence.

I had to move Cruz 3 notches down (he was in #2 position before) after he pushed for the Pacific trade pact. Does Cruz know what the wage levels are in Vietnam & Myanmar? They are much lower than in Mexico! If NAFTA caused so much damage to middle class jobs, why push another massive middle class job killer pact?
If anyone wants to know why Cruz was forced to push for that deal, just Google who is Cruz’s biggest donor.

Who is “they” ? Do you mean the republican primary voters? Or do we still pick the nominee in smoke filled rooms? Keep in mind, that the moderate from Massachusetts had trouble crossing 30% in all initial primaries. Did the conservative candidates unite behind just 1 candidate? Nope, they fought to the bitter end, clearing the path for Romney.
A better statement than “do not nominate a liberal” would be “unite behind one conservative candidate”. Whichever candidate has most success through the SC primary should stay in, the rest drop out. That is the ONLY way a conservative wins nomination.
Simple reason is, there are not enough social & fiscal real conservative voters in the primaries to anoint 2 or more conservatives over a social liberal like Romney. Split the conservatives, and it is guaranteed there will be no conservative nominee. It is wise to accept reality.
Don’t kid yourself, the party bosses do everything in their power to hamstring conservatives. Keeping the early primary states in moderate/lib states, doing nothing about open primary abuses, using their friendly media outlets like Fox to pump up the liberals and bash conservatives, and letting hardcore progressives moderate all our debates. If they get another lib nominee, it will be exactly what they wanted.

Cruz doesn’t need the attention...if you’ve followed his campaign you note that everything is carefully timed according to “Cruz time”....he sees the larger picture we don’t.
Additionally ....Article V has been tossed around for some time Cruz mentioning this simply puts a little more push if things continue as they are.
I don’t know why you have such negative issues with candidates....but it’s not helping.
All that could be true. BUT, Fact remains....there are not enough social conservative voters to anoint 2 conservatives over a single social liberal. Without unity, conservatives have no chance.
When has Cruz Ever pushed for a Pacific trade Pact? NEVER, that’s when. TPP is not completed and has not been voted on. Trade Promotion Authority, which he voted against when it came back from the House because it was weakened by Dem amendments and corrupted by back room deals, is not the same thing.

Notice how all your argument focus on attacking me. While mine focus on the facts at hand. Try using facts and logic for a change. If you really think this plan can work you can answer these 4 simple questions:
In this “uni-party system”, as you say, how will Cruz get this out of committee?
How will he get it passed by congress?
How will he get it passed by the legislatures?
What judiciary has ever actually been improved by retention voting?
Very simple. And remember, if you put one single attack against me in the answer you’ve admitted you’re wrong and I’m right.
There’s what 2 dozen primary candidates right now only two candidates (neither named Cruz) consistently polling in the double digits right now? Yeah he needs attention, they ALL need attention. Right now there’s no signal in this campaign, it’s all noise.
I’m seeing the larger picture just fine. There’s a lot of candidates and right now none of them are showing any real signs of being either a good candidate or a good president.
Article V has been getting tossed around for DECADES and it quite simply is not going to happen.
I have negative issues with the candidates so far none of them can put together two press conferences without sounding like idiots. There is, frankly, nothing to be positive about in this field. We’re in a position where the historical trend almost guarantees (as much as any historical trend can guarantee future performance) the next president will be GOP and the field is just pathetic. They’re all noise makers and rabble rousers, except for the serious liberals who joined the wrong party.

I got nobody. Politics has been taken over by loud mouths. I think we are now fully in the situation Douglas Adams described, the process now fully guarantees that anybody who should be trusted to be in charge doesn’t want anything to do with politics.
