A gay El Paso couple contacted ABC-7 to report an Upper Valley wedding venue that won't let them get married there.
The owner of Grace Gardens says she is exercising her religious freedom in denying same-sex marriages.
Ping.
set up. they knew and targeted the place. pastor jack (my pastor said they would not do this)
my same reply
In an election year with Republicans running Texas, this could produce an embarrassing defeat for the normality-haters, which could then get contagious. I would not be surprised if other states started to follow Texas's lead in various ways.

My church is on notice. I think they’re going to try and appease both God and man.
Obviously, if this happens, I will be looking for another church.
Before I started going to this church, a little less than a year ago, I met privately with the senior pastor to discuss various issues, one of them being my background. In the course of our discussion, I specifically mentioned homosexual marriage and asked their stance on it.
I didn’t really get a good answer, however, I have to give the pastor the benefit of a doubt, because he really didn’t know me and for all he knew, I was setting him up.

From the linked article...owner’s statement....
Grace Gardens owner Sandra Rodriguez didn’t want to speak on camera with ABC-7, but she sent this statement:
“Grace Gardens acknowledges the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on the right of same-sex couples to marry and be free from government sanctioned discrimination. However, Grace Gardens also believes in exercising its religious freedom and its belief that the holy covenant of marriage is based upon Holy Scriptures. The Old and New Testaments provide scriptures that support our stance on Biblical marriage.
-Genesis 2:22-24: “Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, ‘this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman’ for she was taken out of man.’ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.’”
-Leviticus 18:22 “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.”
-Mark 10: 6-9 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
“Grace Gardens believes marriage is a covenant established by God between a man and a woman only. Grace Gardens also believes in the constitutional rights of individuals and the entities they own to express their own religious beliefs including their objections to same-sex marriages. Grace Gardens is a private entity run by individuals that hold sincere and deeply held beliefs that same-sex marriage runs contrary to the teachings of the Holy Bible. As Grace Gardens respects the freedom and rights of all people, including the LGBT community, Grace Gardens asks that same-sex couples, and the public at large will respect the right of Grace Gardens to exercise their freedom and right to not allow such marriages to take place at Grace Gardens. Religious freedom and human rights should be exercised on a mutual level of respect.”
They believe they have the right to force others to participate now
I have a question. The bakery and florist of late to be sued by gay couples were owned/run by women? No?
none of these venues issue licenses I think
Lady stay put in your business. Citizens of El Paso, get vigilante on the sodomite perv terrorists.
That's exactly how I see it. Boo-hoo, I can't get a wedding cake; and boo-hoo someone else is discriminating against me because of their religion; or boo-hoo I cant' get every f*cking thing I think I deserve because I like to do men in the rear.
There is going to be major blow-back (pun intended) now they got their USSC decision. I've read that (2) small businesses are shutting down rather than forfeit their beliefs or be sued because of discrimination against the fudge-packers.
I once accepted what they wanted to do behind close doors. Now that they are pushing their shit on me, I'm gonna tell everyone I meet to just back the f*ck off and get out my face. They want to bring hate charges against me for saying so, I'm prepared.
Tolerance is one thing; demanding acceptance is another. I almost puked when I saw the White House lit up with their rainbow colors. I'm sick of these queers. Why do they define themselves by their sexual preference? I define myself by my values, honor, and character...and not by who I want to sleep with.
Their pettiness and the pitiful need for self-esteem and total acceptance is getting old. Watch, there is going to be unintended consequences from their actions and the USSC ruling. Mark my words.
Now, for a bit of light sarcasm:
“Don’t call homos ‘fudge-packers’. It gets on the nerves of factory workers in Hershey, PA...”

Anti-discrimination laws don’t override constitutionally protected freedoms, like the free exercise of religion. Of course, who knows what the legal barbarians in the Supreme Court will come up with next.
What we need are some legal challenges to make their way back up through the legal system so that the Supreme Court can tell us what the law and US Constitution mean today. Maybe they can spin a wheel or something...
International Standard Version
Rather, because we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, we speak as we do, not trying to please people but God, who tests our motives. 1 Thessalonians 2:4
You do not please GOD when you go against His will, you may please man, but you will never please GOD by doing so. You have a choice to make and will be judged by GOD on judgement day accordingly.
If gays claim to make up such a big part of society, why don’t they start their own wedding service?
The First Amendment ensures that religious organizations and persons are given proper protection as they seek to teach the principles that are so fulfilling and so central to their lives and faiths, and to their own deep aspirations to continue the family structure they have long revered.
