No, the real intent of removing tax-exempt status is to cripple the institutions that continue their dissent from the sexual revolution. When tax exemptions are removed, donors will give far less than they are giving now. Churches will become liable to property taxes. That means that many churches will have to forfeit their property to the government because they won’t be able to afford the taxes they have to pay on it. Many of them wouldn’t be able to pay them now. If donations went down, they would be that much further from being able to pay them. As a result, churches that reside on valuable properties in urban locations would be immediately vulnerable. Eventually, so would everyone else.

So let’s put aside the propaganda and say clearly what Oppenheimer is calling for. A call for ending tax exemptions for religious institutions is a call to close them down—or at least to plunder them of their property. That is what is going on here. Think of the irreparable harm that would follow if and when these many small churches are effectively forced to close their doors—harm that will come not only to these ministers and parishioners themselves, but also to the poor and vulnerable: lost foster-care services, tutoring of teens, material and spiritual relief for the poor, and character development, often in the places it is needed most.

Yes churches existed before tax exemptions. But there is no question that these expected actions will hurt the finances of religions. It will take away resources from the charitable and humanitarian work done by religious denominations.

Not true. Church tax exemptions were built into the Income Tax. Tax exemptions and taxes came into existence at the same times.
The true church will go underground, as it is in China. God’s word will continue to spread regardless of the intent of the God-hating “authorities”.
Cool... some/most christians need to get out of “the church” to find “the Church”..
I don’t think I’m going out on a limb here by saying that when Mother Teresa was scraping people off the streets of Calcutta, she really didn’t give a sh!t about whether her work was “tax exempt” or not.
It’s the other tax-exempted groups that should worry, and do.

It will be the equivalent of when Henry VIII expropriated the property of the Catholic Church in England, kept some of it for the newly-formed Anglican Church, then handed the rest over to his cronies, which was a win-win for him: the cronies were beholden to him, and the cronies had to pay taxes on their newly-gained property.
And I say this as someone whose ancestors received some of this property, a plot of Catholic-owned land in Ely. It evidently didn’t do the family much good, since within two generations they had moved to London, and the third generation came as an indentured servant to VA in the 1630s.
We are on the precipice of a fundamentally transformed America, soon to be an insignificant cog in the NWO wheel.
The wheat is being separated from the chaff, and losing tax benefits is part of it. We’ll all be forced to make a choice, and back up that choice with action and sacrifice.
So what, many churches are fronts for left wing hate groups.
It will weed out the wheat from the chaff, those who love the Lord will continue to do so, those looking for a lace to hang out will find a bar to got o or the beach.

Churches actually have more constitutional rights if they don’t register as a 501 c 3 organization.
No you are not going out on a limb. But, charitable and humanitarian work done by religious organizations costs money. In spite of so much being done by volunteers, it still costs money to operate homeless accommodations, feeding programs, counseling service of various types. I think the point is still valid that religions losing tax exempt status will hurt them financially, regardless of the example set by Mother Teresa.
