The American dream is dead, but I will bring it back: Donald Trump announces for President
Daily Mail ^ | 16 Jun 15 | Spargo & Corcoran

Donald Trump is running for president. The multi-billionaire announced his presidential plans today from his namesake tower in New York City. Trump, 69, was introduced by his daughter Ivanka as he formally declared his 2016 intentions, descending down an escalator with wife Melania to speak to the gathered crowd. In his remarks he attacked the Obama administration on everything from immigration and terrorism to Obamacare and the job market as he promised to bring back the American dream. He also released his financial information, revealing a net worth of $8.7billion.

'We need somebody that literally will take this country and make it great again. We can do that,' said Trump. I will be the greatest jobs president God ever created 'Ladies and gentlemen, I am officially running for president of the United States, and we are going to make our country great again.'

As for what he could do for the country, Trump said he would be the 'greatest jobs president God ever created.' He then added; 'The fact is, the American Dream is dead - but if I win, I will bring it back bigger and better and stronger than ever before.'

As for Obamacare, Trump called the program a 'disaster.' 'ObamaCare must be repealed and replaced with something far superior and at far less cost,' he said in his remarks.

Trump also put much of the focus of his speech on the issue of immigration.

The fact is, the American Dream is dead - but if I win, I will bring it back bigger and better and stronger than ever before. 'It is way past time to build a massive wall to secure our southern border - and nobody can build a bigger and better wall than Donald Trump,' said Trump.

“Are you happy with The Donald claiming The Oprah would make a great VP?”

Take a moment to think about what Biden is famous and known for doing and accomplishing in the Obama Administration. I think Oprah would fill his shoes very well. Biden keeps those who are challenged in the area of civic knowledge busy while Obama works his real agenda. I think Oprah would shine!

He would NOT be firing left and right. Have you ever heard of the federal civil service protections?

Maybe Trump would take a look at that. From what I've heard, it's like pulling teeth to get rid of an incompetent civil service worker. Sounds a bit like tenure. The whole thing needs a business approach and needs to be privatized if you will, or at least run like a business. It's so ingrained and corrupt now that it's going to take a guy like Trump to start the ball rolling.

Time will tell. It’s possible that he could be just as great as the last “performer” that was elected President of the United States.

I like what he said better than anything I’ve heard in six years. If he sticks to his guns; he has my vote. However, it seems that common sense and plain talk has become a foreign language to the electorate. Perhaps because they have heard so little of it for so long.

He says he’s for traditional marriage

And, based on his marital history, as often as possible!

If he really is serious about this (and that’s a big if), don’t underestimate him. Things are just crazy enough that he could emerge as another Perot.

...and give us another Clinton.

My point is that no individual presidential candidate is going to determine the end game on abortion, so to make that a litmus test for your vote simply rules out a lot of otherwise good candidates.

A president can have an enormous impact on the future of legal abortion in this country with the right Supreme Court appointments. The average age of the current justices will be 75 before the end of the next presidential term, and whoever is elected in 2016 could very well have one or more appointments in store. Roe vs Wade is begging to be overturned.

I AM SICK OF CAREER POLITICIANS they are no better than people on welfare, living off special interest groups and the government. I don't call someone a clown that has more money than you and I put together.

"Caitlyn" Jenner and Kim Kardashian aren't career politicians either, and they also have more money than you and I put together. Would you vote for them if they ran for office? Because that's precisely how serious Trump's candidacy is. He's not a Presidential candidate, he's a reality show contestant playing at a Presidential run.

We don’t need anymore government career politicians on the government payroll. They’ve left this country in total shambles.

The rest of the cast of characters seem like 3nd rate bureaucrats compared to Trump.

First anybody who has amassed $9 billion is not a clown.

Trump loves to style himself as a self-made man, an Andrew Carnegie for the 21st century. Let's compare the self-styled myth to reality. In addition to multiple bankruptcies (which, like all bankruptcies, are on someone else's dole), the "self-made" man really rode on the coat-tails of his multi-millionaire contractor father, and more importantly, this great champion of "free markets" and "enemy of big government" grew rich off crony government connections and abuse of eminent domain:

Trump's Eminent Domain Empire

I can’t wait to see Trump walk into a debate with the other dozen bureaucrats who’ve made a living off government.

Don’t miss it.

I guarantee this guy will clean the stage with them.

Bet the rent.

I was waiting for somebody to fill the Herman Cain buffoon niche in this election cycle, and I think we’ve found him. He will certainly be entertaining in the debates, just not in the hero complex way that you seem to think.

Uh huh...lol

BTW slick, I never suggested this guy was a hero. Don’t pull that with me. Don’t confuse me with others who obviously worship political parties and career government hacks.

This is great stuff. Trust me, the other candidates are going to have real problem with this guy.

He get’s my vote unless you can show me another candidate who can speak and deliver with that level of confidence, truth, enthusiasm, all back by massive success.

Whoops....You don’t have one. lol

He was saying things last night in his speech which needed to be said decades ago. All the other bed-wetting career bureaucrats didn’t have the guts to say anything close.

It’s because they’re owned, on the payroll like everyone in government. We all know this, it’s no secret.

The career politicians, the corrupt insiders all their minions have all but left America dead on the floor. No joke.

Trump don’t fit in with these bureaucrats. It’s why he gets my vote unless someone comes along better. Not a likely scenario.

Maybe the other dozen career bureaucrats will put together a bribe to keep Trump out of the debates.

Oh wait, buy Trump? They’d have better luck roller skating while juggling chainsaws.

Trump in the debates is definitely going to be interesting. For once these quislings will have to face the music.

Preach it brother. This is going to be good and Trump doesn't use a teleprompter. He will destroy them on just his mind and no talking points.

“I was waiting for somebody to fill the Herman Cain buffoon niche in this election cycle, and I think we’ve found him.”

I expect Trump will handle the media to his advantage unlike Cain or anybody else in the race either.

Here’s one thing that I think Trump has going for him that the others don’t. I think people trust him to do what he says he’ll do.
He’s not speaking to every single point conservatives would like spoken to. Instead he seems to be picking a couple of major points. Jobs and wall.
I don’t think he’s the great conservative hope but he’s the only one in the race that I trust to do the couple of things he’s said he’ll do.
